**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Mrsw no I'm still expressing but my supply had dipped so much now. Used to get 35-40oz now only 25 and she's taking 30+ so needing to top up xx

Omg mrsw she looks adorable i could eat her :) we have slso gone to size 4 nappies as we have explosive turds lol im keeping vanish in business lol

Any luck sally with latching??

I have to say im very broody, ive even said i want 3 children now :) i havent gone back on the pill, im still bf and i wish i had time/energy for a bit of sexytime lol

Sazz we invested in a £400 memory foam matress while i was pregnant as i had the worst back ache ever, and let me tell you, id pay £1000 for it, its amazing lol but bless ya i know how it feels, big hugs, and i could eat yr ickle bean in that piccy adorable, me and arthur are ok thanku for asking, he slept soild for 4hrs last night, so hoping he does it again but hes full of cold :(
Hows you and t?

We are currently driving down south, will arrive at 11.30pm :( stopping at the inlaws then thurs dinner driving to kent to my mums to spend easter there xx

Awww what cuties in their highchairs!

Sazz I totally don't know what to do about contraception either! I went on to the mini pill since I'm BFing and it made me bleed so often. I didn't see the point in having contraception that was making me bleed so often that I couldn't have sex in the first place! I had the combined pill before but that made me feel rubbish, and there are various reasons against getting the impant etc.! We're just using condoms at the moment but I really don't know what to do about it when I stop BFing! I really don't fancy the coil!

Wilson that card is so cute! I really want to do hand/foot printing with Aela before she gets too much bigger!

Aela was a bit rubbish again last night. She went 3 hours, 2 hours, 2 hours, then I couldn't for the life of me get her back to sleep so after 2 hours of being awake I pulled her into bed and she went to sleep. She has a dummy but once she wakes that seems to be her and she won't go back down without boob. I dunno if it's just a comfort thing, because she does actually take some milk, but quite often it's not that much. I'm wondering now if she's too hot and therefore thirsty, so I have turned the heating down in our room to try that. We never used to have a thermostat on any of our rads until they were all replaced recently so we're still trying to work out what temps to set them at!

xx

Hi my lovely, i have the exact same issue with arthur, do u dream feed? I managed a 4hr stretch last night :) but then was up every 2hrs after that plus hes got cold :(

However i put him on his side, swaddled him, put a teddy behind his back and a rolled up blanket on his tummy to stop him rolling and he slept the solid 4 hrs no stirring :) he just seems to wake himself to much on his back, so im going to try it tonight again. Xx

No hun, sorry I haven't replied to your what's app message yet. I'm staying overnight with my mum as had a big blowout with OH (all ok, just needed some time apart really) and Cathy is very unsettled due to the change of scenery!

I keep trying to latch her but she just cries lol or stares at me like I'm a weirdo even hand expressing s bit first! It's where your milk comes from you numpty! Lol xx

Sally good luck with latching Cathy, I hope she goes for it soon. Are you gonna go to a bf support group? Might be able to help you. OHs eh! I hope you guys make up :)
x

Wilson..she didn't like the high chair after about 10mins, she wanted out.
Lol
Have a lovely Easter with your mum, we are hoping to get up to Scotland on Friday but worried about all this snow!
x

Yeah they do one on Mondays so am going to pop along, it'd more to stimulate milk production than anything really as I doubt she will ever feed fully from boob (but stranger things have happened!)

I forgot to say, Madison looks so cute in her high chair, a bit puzzled by it lol! Are you just popping her in to get her used to it? Xx

Mrsw are u baby led weaning or puree weaning?? If led weaning why dont u give her stuff to start to feel now in her high chair might keep her amused longer. Arthur has started watching me eat now, makes me feel guilty lol, rubbed a banana on his lip yesterday and he loved it, had to pull it away, rubbed a cherry tomato on his lip today and he was puzzled, xx

Aww mrs w M looks adorable. Bless her

Hi Wilson t and I are really good. He's such a wiggler these days. The new mattress has really sorted my back out. Feel a bit like my normal self. Hope Arthur slept well for you.

Sally I hope you and your oh make soon. Did you manage to get cathy to latch? I hope your night was ok?

T was in his high chair for last nights dinner. He was leaning forward and watching us eat. He got really frustrated so I gave him Sophie and he chewed on her like a baby possessed. I've tried t on smells so herbs from the spice rack and he's interested. I'm thinking of starting him on baby rice next week made with his milk for textures. Then do a little purée before moving on to blw.
I started my fitness kick last night. Did 20 mins on just dance sweat and then a few sets of buns of steel. It felt good to do some exercise. My oh was laughing at me so I made him do buns of steel with me
I did my first dream feed with t last night and it went really well. He hovered up 6 ounces in about 10 mins and was out of it till half 6.

We might be heading back to Essex for the weekend just not sure what the weather will do. Got an Easter egg hunt on Sunday with the family 10 nieces and nephews running around my brothers house is gonna be chaos but so much fun. Xx

I can't believe all the November babies are now starting with their highchairs?I a

I am just popping James in his to involve him with meal times a little as he loves to watch us eat.

I plan to BLW but I think I will use a few purees to begin with just to try him with different tastes, as Wilson suggested though I will just pop any purees on his high chair tray and let him figure it out.

I've only tried him with a Petite Filous (a few times actually, a good few days apart and I've tried different falvours) and he doesn't seem to like the taste so I am leaving him be for the moment.

Had to email work today to confirm what date I will be back. Due back 28th October but have asked if I can take some holiday and go back 25th November instead. I don't think they'll agree as November is one of our busiest times!

I feel so sad that I am having to think about work already.

Hi everyone, I seem to have missed quite a bit, so sorry if I don't reply to it all.

Sally - I went to my local BF group a couple of times, they were brilliant. It's BH on Monday tho, so doubt yours will be open. Round here there is one every weekday, just in a different part of the area, is there anywhere nearish you could travel to? I took fenugreek capsules which helped my supply (you can get tea too). J always latched better in the biological nurturing position. I found the NCT helpline brilliant for advice too. Good luck, I read somewhere that babies always remember the first latch they did (breast or bottle) and can go back, I can't remember whether your LO latched at the start?

Wilson, what were the roads like? We're going north for the weekend and hoping the snow will be gone.

Nat, I need to arrange a meeting with my work for early may - six months in - to discuss how/when I go back. I'm like you, I feel sad at thinking about it, but everyone assures me that when my year is up I will be glad of the change. It helps that I'm only going to work 1 day a week.

J can't decide whether he wants to sleep through or not! He does it for 2 nights and then demands a feed on the 3rd - he's done that twice now!

Today we have the 3rd lot of jabs and then a couple of mummy friends from the village will come up for coffee. I might get a run in when DH finishes work later.

Sazz that sounds like fab fun :) cant wait to do stuff like this with arthur xx

We booked water babies today to start in may :) we cant wait, cant wait for the under water photoshoot too :)

Xx

Thanks sazz and l_a for your support it means a lot to me! Thanks for reminding me also that its BH this Monday, all my family works shifts in places that don't close for bank holidays so its very easy to forget!

There is a bfing group I can go to on Thursday, further away, so OH may be able to drive me (I came home this morning and my house got cleaned so he is forgiven lol). I tried fenugreek but it decreased my supply, I think it's rare but possible but I was a bit annoyed I spent £20 on two bottles that didn't work! She did latch a little in the beginning but her mouth would never open wide enough and it was agony (loads of other issues but that was the main one) so I began to exclusively express.

We are having a similar problem as you l_a with sleeping through, she is so fickle with it! It's something like 4 nights out of the last 7 she's slept through, her feeds don't make a difference as she sleeps through 23oz days and wakes on 33oz days! Babies are crazy xx

word of warning to the ladies who watch OBEM, apparently tonight a baby doesn't make it :( prep the tissues xxx

Hello everyone,

Wilson you will love waterbabies. We did 2 underwater swims today where we let go of LO (literally for 2 seconds) then grabbed them back and brought them up. M did really well and just loves being in the water.

I too have been thinking about going back to work and it depresses me! I really don't want to go back BUT I have to for financial stability more than anything, I think I'm getting a later start time and early finish so 9-4 I think then Fridays finish at 12. :)

Tried M with a bit of peti folui and she seemed to like it, literally a teeny bit.

I tried James with the Apricot one today (he's so far had Strawberry and Rasberry) and whilst he didn't love it, he seemed slightly more interested in this flavour.I literally dipped my baby finger in a few times and let him have a little lick.

With work I am hoping to go back 8-4pm (I'd only take a half hour lunch) but my normal hours are 9-5.30pm.

I am trying to look at positives, we'll be NTNP from summer next year and actively TTC once I've been back a year and also we'll be able to move if I am back at work but the thought of spending all that time, every day, away from James is actually making me feel really anxious! I'll be a wreck by the time I actually go back.

xxxx

Thanks for the warning, ruthiex, I won't be watching that.

That's a shame about the fenugreek Sally, I was going to offer to post you the half pack I have here. I've also heard fennel tea is good? The latch was really painful with J too, it looked good from the outside and we tried all the tricks but he just wasn't getting it far enough back into his mouth. All respect to you for expressing for this long, I tried but only managed mixed feeding for 6 weeks. Know what you mean with no rhyme or reason with feeding/sleeping. When he wakes for a feed in the night he seems ravenous, but he rarely takes his full morning feed whether or not he has eaten in the last 8 hours!

Wilson - are you thinking about waterbabies? I must have missed that. Arthur will love it!

Js jabs were OK, we had a slight reaction this afternoon, he was just a little hot and upset. A dose of Calpol sorted him out and he's sleeping now, poor little man. I had some mummy friends over for coffee this morning and got a run in when DH finished work, so all in all a good day.

Thanks hun. Yeah they said our latch was ok too but I think we had the same problem, not enough breast in the mouth so she just chewed on the end - ouchie!

Glad jabs went ok. Hope he isn't unsettled after them, Cathy was up til 10 last night after hers but we were out at a strange place so no wonder she was unsettled really xx

If you had the same problem, you might find the biological nurturing position helps, because it uses gravity and really gets the baby to get their face into the breast xxx
