**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

srob bless, hope hes ok and gets well really soon, sending big kisses, lots of bugs are going round :( arthur has had a cough and cold for 2 months now and as soon as he gets rid of it he starts again with it. bloody winter bugs.

missy i hope A teething settles, its awful isnt it when you feel you are not much help, im not sure if you ladies know but when bubs have a temp, strip them to their nappy give them calpol, then whip your top off and give them skin to skin, your body temp regulates theirs and will bring it down and also it soothes the lo :) and its lovely for the skin to skin cuddles xx

Blimey Srob, you did the right thing going in though.

Hope things ease up a little.

Like Amanda says skin to skin is good for temp regulation.

Missy, I was thinking of you when I posted about sleep. I know A isn't a brilliant sleeper

So here we are.. how the Hell did that happen????

James is thriving and I am so proud.

The last month has been a bit of a test as he's been teething and leaping [not even at the same time] but my happy little bub is back now...

A few pic's from about 5 minutes ago

I am feeling OK about him turning 1 - at the moment - I know I'll be super emotional the closer we get.

This time last year I had only just started maternity leave !!

He's still not right. His temperature is still a bit high, he grouchy and he's refused lunch. Thankfully OH has stayed home today and is really looking after the LO well. Not a fun night at all, but at least it wasn't/isn't anything serious.

Wow Srob, sounds like you had an eventful night. Hope your LO feels better soon xx

Happy 11 months to James! :yay:

I have two teeny ones around at the moment. Niece is 9 weeks and nephew is 3 weeks so I am getting in lots of newborn cuddles.

I am not broody but I am having pangs for James when he was teeny! He is so big now. Wish I'd cuddled him even more when he was a newborn  (he had plenty of cuddles but still)

xxxxxx

LO is better this morning, thanks Wilson. He hasn't eaten much, but seems like his old self at least. Plus he slept right through again last night. Yay.

I don't even remember my LO as a newborn - all I remember was lots and lots of crying. When I look back at pictures of him a newborn, I just don't remember it. He's grown into a right little boy - full of character.

I don't know whether I am ready or not for another just yet. I feel I have just gotten my head around S and slowly getting through PND. But saying that, I'd love the little fella to have a bro or sis close in age... I did, and we grew up as best mates, and continue to be close.

Happy belated 11months James!

I'm not so much broody but know I definitely want another one :)

I pine for the newborn days and my cuddles with my newborn baby. However I love watching Lady M grow and learn new things. Since starting nursery she has come in leaps and bounds!

Happy 11 months to James for yesterday! I cannot believe how grown up he looks! Seems like no time at all since we were all reading your labour thread and waiting for news!

Srob, so sorry to hear LO was so poorly! Glad he's on the mend, it is just so horrible not being able to do much for them and them not being able to tell you what's wrong! :(

Nat - yeah A in't great at sleeping still! But until just now we were getting a lot better! We managed to get her self settling most of the time :D with a wee bit of crying which was huge progress as before she literally would only be pushed to sleep in her pushchair. She is still waking for a feed at 4am though, and I don't think it really is for milk because it's only a minute or so. Not sure if it's for a wee drink or for comfort so we'll need to try and do something about that when we get back to decent sleep.

However, last night was awful. She slept 7.30 till 9.30 and then screamed till 11ish. Then we got her up and she seemed okay, then OH took her out in the pushchair and she screamed mostly until 2 apart from 30mins where she slept. But after 2 she went to sleep in her pushchair until 8.30 and then came in the bed and slept till 10. Yes that is right, I got to stay in bed till 10am today!! Poor wee soul is really not happy with these teeth though and her nose is very bunged up. Hope this cold passes soon. Can't imagine how horrible it must be teething with a cold as well!xx

James has gone from self settling within minutes every single night since he was about 8 weeks old to being the naughtiest boy in town.

I put him down at 8:45pm and he is still awake (currently doing his baby zombie impression and dragging himself to the other end of the cot, then banging his head and crying )

He'll do it again at about 3-4am !! Or I'll find him sitting up almost asleep like a scary little possessed baby !!

My LO only got into self settling two months ago - best thing I've ever gotten him todo!

Since his tummy explosion he barely eaten any solids - when should he start eating properly again?

I'd give it a few days Srob and just make sure he's getting plenty of fluids. We all know how icky you can feel after a tummy bug. I would just keep offering food, especially bland stuff like toast and I'm sure he'll be back to normal soon enough :) xx

Thanks :-) he seems back to normal today... well he's had breakfast and lunch anyway, which is a super bonus. I'm so glad he's back to his old cheery self!

Hope LO is feeling better SRob.

I didn't get a chance to feel broody! Got another scan on Monday to recheck dates as bubs was a week behind last friday after my bleed so hoping all is ok. Sickness definitely kicking in now, spent most of the day in bed :( Lyla must sense it because she has been clung to me constantly since we found out!

Can't believe how big Lyla's getting now. We are very close to nearly walking its scary!

Happy belated 11 months to James!

xx

I am just washing all James' 12-18m vests

He still fits in all his actual clothes, it's just his sleepsuits and vests that he needs to go up a size in.

My baby is getting so big!

xxxxxxx

Eugh little man REALLY scratched me this morning - so sore :-(

We are soon moving into 12-18 months! I refuse to buy any 18-24months clothes until after Christmas.
I can't believe by little lady is a whole year in a matter of weeks!

x

I have a few 18-24m vests but I refuse to accept James will ever be that big lol.

I will buy some bits nearer the time, it will be summer again then?? Wowser!

James is a scratcher, in-fact it's usually when I get a scratch that I remember to do clip his nails

How many bottles a day are our FF babies having? James still has 3 (21fl oz) plus 3 meals a day. Middle bottle is now cows milk and I am going to start this in a beaker from today.

xxxxxxx
