Hello!

I'd like to stay with you guys despite being an April mummy with Maia arrive early and with a bang!

Maia Lavinia Jolene arrived 14/04/2014 at 9.17am weighing 6lbs

Your more than welcome here hunny :-) how are you both doing now?

Great idea to start a new thread : ) how are you new mummies doing?

We're doing good here Rachael, waking once or twice in the night for feeds, exclusively breast feeding and awaiting an appointment for his tongue tie to be cut.... Also awaiting a heart scan (due to his brother and dad having heart diseases) and a hip scan (as he was breech till 36weeks), how about you?

Oww twice at night sounds good : ) Hope all Harry's tests go well. Its good your finding the bf ok even thoygh he has tongue tie.

We are breastfeeding too. Had a few teething problems as Summer has been slow regaining her birth weight, so have had to express and top her up with that as well. But fingers crossed she is gaining now and will be weighed again Wednesday when hopefully she will be up to her birth weight. She is generally great at night, sometimes the first feed she is slow to go down but after that generally feeds and go's straight back to sleep for 3hr stretches. We can't let her go longer anyway until she has upped her weight a bit. She was a but restless last night but I think I have some oversupply at the moment so was a bit engourged. Think she might have been struggling with how full they were! Anyway I emptied this morning and since then she seems to have been fine!

How is his big brother adjusting? Xx

Hope you and Maia are doing well irishmama xxx

Yay! Glad to see this is up and running and pleased you're all doing well :) I hope to be here really soon!! X

Yay, was hoping you'd start this. :)

My little boy William was born at 7:10am on the 17th May weighing 7lbs 10oz.

He is also exclusively breastfed. Was a bit of a slow latcher the first couple of days so we had a slightly worrying trip to hospital on his first day to check blood sugar levels (all OK). He'd lost just over 11% of his birthweight by 3 days, but by day 5 had regained almost all of it back. Looking forward to Tuesday when the HV will weigh him and he should have passed his birthweight!

We've had a few nights of cluster feeds which are always exhausting. Last night I ended up bed sharing and he was out like a light lol.

Having nursed my older son successfully for over 3 years, I'm feeling confident about doing well with this one too. My goodness these early days are hard work though lol!

Things are going well with Maia and me. She is mostly breast feeding (dad does the 10pm feed with formula) although I haven't been able to manage without a nipple shield - we have struggled to get her to latch on without it. However, it's a minor niggle. She's gaining weight and is just over 7lbs now. She's a lovely natured baby and really only cries for food or to be changed. She's really cuddly and loves nothing better than being talked to and cuddled. She wakes up to be fed 2-3 times a night but she settles straight away.

She was assessed by audiology last week and after two full afternoons of testing we were given the news that she has a moderate hearing impairment and will need hearing aids. We were upset at first but now I'm just viewing it as being similar to a wee one needing glasses. She will get them at 3 months old and the research suggests that it shouldn't effect her language development etc as it'll be corrected early. They showed us a selection of hearing aids and you get pretty awesome ones for kids.

Hi Ladies, can I join. Phoebe was born 12/05/14 at 4 . 0 8pm weighing 6lb 12oz :)

Sorry, had to put the time funny because it keeps putting a smilie in its place! She was born at eight minutes past four in the afternoon :)

Jacob is being a very good big brother thank goodness, so loving and caring :-) I'm so proud of him.

Harry lost just over 6% by day 3, (went for 7lbs 15oz - 7lbs 7oz he was then 7lbs 15oz again by day 10 and 8lbs 11oz by day 17 (fatty lol)

Hi Michell (would I be right in guessing it's Michelle?) I will add you now - welcome x

Max Cohen born 24/05/14 at 16:23 weighing 8lb 7oz. Excited to continue this journey with you ladies and looking forward to the rest of the May mummies joining us. Xxx

Fredrick Matthew 5.9 lbs and Charles Thomas 6 lbs born at 37+3 with natural delivery breech x2.
They are doing ok meaning they are gaining weight...
Don't ask how I am doing with 3 under two lol. I don't even know what day it is or my name anymore...
They sleep all day and party all night long, vomit a hell lot, they eat every 2 h!!!
By the time I fed, burped and changed diaper to the second baby it's time for the first one to eat again....
Well sleep is overrated anyway lol...I think I averaged 2-3 h sleep per day since they were born!
Amelie is 20 months old and she loves them a bit too much haha. She cuddles them a bit too enthusiastic and point (pokes) their eyes, nose etc...

Congratulations ladies!

Yikes Hope! Sounds like you have your hands full bless you : ) they sound like little cuties though : )

How is everyone doing today?

We had Summers weigh in today and she has gained back her birth weight and is now 6lb 3oz! I'm super relieved and feel like I can relax a bit more now and stop worrying! Xxx

The health visitor weighed William yesterday and he'd gained 2oz over his birth weight at just 10 days old. Such a relief considering the slow start with breastfeeding. Talking of which, we're doing really well now. My milk is well and truly in, my poor boobs are very full and William is latching well most of the time. I get quite an uncomfortable letdown on both sides when he nurses and the milk briefly squirts out uncontrollably lol, but I know this will sort itself out soon enough.

I've been having some gushes of fresh blood in my sanitary pad every now and then. Midwife says it's nothing to worry about and that I just need to be careful not to over exert myself.

I've now been discharged from her care. Felt a bit teary about my babymoon now being over. The midwives have all been so lovely, I shall miss seeing them.

I treated myself to a new pair of jeans yesterday. It's lovely to have some regular clothing I can wear again. Bye bye bump band!

I took Harry to see the infant feeding coordinator today about his tongue tie, she had a look at him and put her finger in his mouth and said his tongue movement was limited so has done a tongue tie divide, he was swaddled in a blanket, I held his face still and held his lower jaw to open his mouth and she did the cut, was really quick and Harry only cried briefly - such a brave soldier :-) x
