*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Ahhhha a June mums section! Scary scary.

Belfa that is a dilemma! The grey is gorg, and actually similar to mine. A practical but stylish choice. However the other colour is just soooo pretty. BUT Prob is a bad idea. Even if it does look that good. I think you have made the right choice. Did you order with that jan Stewart place in EK?

Only thing I am still waiting for is my bedside crib. Expecting delivery any day now. Just got to finish off my hospital bag. Kinda just threw loads of things in haphazardly. But might go through it and organise it a bit better. Also going to try on the nightdresses I got. My bump has ballooned the past few weeks - hoping they aren't too tight now :-o!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Feels weird to now be on mat leave. Have already remembered a few things I am going to email work with on Monday morning haha. What a loser I am! But hate leaving people on the lurch.

Get my new car next week woohoo! Soccer mom car :-)! xx

I think you're all right, the grey is much more practical. Yeah I did, they showed my mum and I how to fit the car seat etc yesterday and it totally went over my head, wish DH had been there.

I can't believe I've got work tomorrow, I'm so ready for a break from that part of my life.

What kind of car are you getting?x

I like the grey Belfa!

And I totally feel you on work....3 weeks to go....

Belfa. The grey colour is also similar to mine, the other one is lush but guess you have to be practical. I know someone who bought a fancy stokke pushchair in white, well she replaced it after 6 months as it got dirty.

Hubby put the cot together today after spending about 3 weekends painting and perfecting it, anyway am I wrong to feel a bit disheartened. It was given to us by SIL but I always had an image in my head how I'd like a cot set up, but it's the first time I've seen it as a whole, and felt disappointed. It wasn't the painting as the colour is lush just the look and style of the cot itself. Not really what I expected and the bolts are a brass colour which looks funny on the white. I feel really ungrateful as our niece and nephew used the same cot. Im just not sure how we can spruce it up as obviously don't want to buy cot bumpers. Am I wrong in wanting everything perfect for our new arrival.

I have 1 more week at work, so over it now. Get me out of there..lol..

I got a Citroen cactus :-)! Can't wait to pick it up. Tho I have a mini just now so will be a sad day saying goodbye to it :'(!

So far my mat leave has consisted of a lot of eating :-)! Lunch with my family yday at an amazing seafood place, dinner with in laws tonight at a nice Italian. And have dinner with a girlfriend tomorrow!! Could get used to this hehe!!

You can probably buy spare bolts in chrome or something and get OH to change them over?

That's a good idea for a start, thanks buggy. :)

Lucy - Have you got any photos, maybe we could suggest other ideas if we know what your working with. It'll look a lot better once baby is in it with a cot mobile and a teddy or two.

Been such a hectic weekend, trying to fit in seeing family before LO arrives and DS had a scouts award ceremony, which took up all of Saturday. Walked all over and was so sore that night. Got the midwife again on Wednesday (see her every two weeks now) at 36+6 and hoping for some good head down and fully engaged news :D Wishful thinking though!

How has everyone elses weekend been? Any one else joining us a mat leave this coming week?

x

This is the cot pismo. We are team yellow but having a jungle nursery theme.. I looked at drapes but they tend to be white, pink or blue. Doesn't really match the rest of the nursery. I find its really low too compared to some cots.

Lucy- have you tried it out with your bedding and a blanket? I was so much happier with ours once I had dressed it. Even if I have got to take it all off to wash it.

Wish I was joining you girls already on Maternity but still got 2 1/2 weeks left yet. Got a long weekend tho as got this friday off. Then got the following friday and monday off so cant complain too much.

Had a great weekend. Had a date afternoo with OH to the cinema earlier and baby enjoyed having a good wiggle to the loud noises. Felt like the 3 of us were watching the film together, lol.

Got offered a nursing chair from a friend for free today too which will finish off our nursery. X

P.s. you hadnt put the pic up when I started posting. I think that looks lovely tho obviously just a little bare at the minute. X

I haven't got the mattress out yet as the cot is still slightly sticky from the paint. I do want to try that. Thing is I just got white sheets, guess couple of soft toys will jazz it up. I just feel something is missing.

I just have to get through 4 working days now.

Agree with Scotcher - It just looks a little bare but I have a feeling it'll look lovely once fitted with baby stuff. Have you got a mattress yet? I'm guessing the height of the bed part isn't adjustable?

I'm also finding it difficult to get gender neutral stuff and feel like I have to wait for little one to arrive before getting some bits. Are you crafty? Could you (or someone you know) make them?

xx

Was posting at the same time... Its difficult when staying team yellow but I'm sure once your LO is here you'll feel different. We managed to get some good colourful gender neutral bedding in the mothercare sale a while ago. Its hard when something you pictured in your head doesn't match up to the reality. But you've done a fab job upcycling the cot - Have you got any before pictures to show the difference?
x

You've done a good job on the paint Lucy. What about a mini bumper / cushion thing as a head board and / or at the foot of the cot? That might make it look a bit more complete? The Americans put valance sheets on too, I'm quite tempted to do this as, when the mattress is at the highest setting I don't like the big gap between the mattress and floor as we have a drawer under our cot and you can see right in to it - it looks really messy.

I loved my mini Coletteypie. It was our biggest regret selling it as we now need a run around for DH since I'll be using the 4 x 4 and we'd like a mini again but we can't find the same spec that I had for a decent price.

Poor wee Harvey Moon had a relapse of his infection yesterday so I was syringing gaviscon in tiny amounts all night whilst I needed to glug it too  x

I agree with the others, it's a nice cot but looks bare, will look a lot better once it's dressed. Give it a try, I'm sure you'll feel better about it.

Weekend was ok, got some more decorating done, hubby cleaned the car and cut the grass too which was a bonus.

Got the day off today, have physio later. Still working til the 28th but got a good few days off to look forward to before then.

The cot looks lovely, if i pulled the mattress and everything off mine it would probably look the same. Once u have it dressed you'll feel a lot better about it, esp when you know what u have and can buy a few colourful blankets etc.

I had a busy weekend seeing friends and family too, but got nothing practical done or organised, feeling bit panicky now that times marching on. Despite having a mischievous toddler today im going to try and get a few more things done today like organising kitchen cupboards....fun lol x

Morning ladies!

Feeling poop today - think I must have slept funny/not enough. Just generally feeling off and down... Think I could cry at the slightest thing.

I have a to-do list that's fairly important but CBA bringing myself to do it. Fed up with making phonecalls and sending emails :( Gah, I sound like a spoiled brat.

Hope everyone is feeling good...

Heres hoping - almost fully cooked, are you expecting LO earlier or later?

x

DH put the wall stickers up yesterday. I'm feeling like I might need more lines above to make it higher? x

So cute Belfa! Hmmm another wee line above would be nice, but not necessary.

Well first official day of mat leave if you don't include weekend :). Doing life admin - arranging car insurance, chasing my crib delivery, got to go to post office and get some shopping in. But got a dinner date later on.

Was hoping to get a washing out but weather is gross up here!

Yes the first of the June mums are now full cooked :)
