*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Is it just me or does anyone else, when they see the words 'pelvic floor' immediately squeeze off a few for good measure. I don't do them any other time though :)

Lucyboo - Could be BH, I've been having them on and off for a few weeks now. My whole stomach goes hard/tight then relaxes.

Charlie - Scary stuff. Fingers crossed your little man stays put until he is totally ready! How often are you seen by consultant/midwives? I'm guessing they want to keep a close eye on you?

Want to go to primark or asda to start filling up my hospital bag - couple of cheap nighties, pants and slippers etc.

Yeah I'm constantly at one appointment or another. I've got 2 consultants. So far I've had 5 consultant appointments, 7 scans and think the same midwife appointments as normal. Had my 28 week midwife appointment and seeing her again 30 weeks. Next scan isn't until 33 weeks with one consultant then have another at 34 weeks with other consultant! Feel like I've had a nice break from appointments though from 28 weeks to 33 :) I struggle to remember all these appointments and they are in different hospitals just to confuse me even more haha! Nice to be kept an eye on though!

I've just finished work, had some what felt like period pains and tightening. I'm laying in bed now and feeling better though. It will be my luck that because I've packed my hospital bag he will take that as its time to come out now! Fingers crossed he stays put! Xx

Talking of consultants, the consultant who comes to deliver the blonde girls baby on one born tonight is one of mine :) she's lovely! Xx

I know what you ladies mean about tablets. With my rhinitis my sinuses are f@@ked. I have a spray from the doctor I can use twice a day but don't like to. I tend to use it every 2-3 days once when I'm desperate.

That's amazing they're taking such good care of you Charlie. I know people moan about the nhs but they are amazing :)

It's APRIL!! Who else is going on maternity leave NEXT MONTH???! Cannot wait! Xx

Yes, next month sounds good, although it's the very end of the month!

Woop!! 22nd for me! Can't come quick enough, I'm shattered!

It's weird, I still feel fine. Like, completely normal. I could work right up, I just really can't wait to get out of here lol xx

If my job wasn't so physically draining I would work for lots longer - As it is I finish on the 27th of THIS month! :D My house should be spotless from all the nesting I'll be able to do in my time off. Also looking forwards to getting my nails done!!!

Charlie that woman seemed lovely last night, as do the midwives and facilities at Liverpool. Lucky lady!

xx

If it wasn't for the nhs I wouldn't have this little miracle in my tummy so to me they are amazing :) we are very lucky in this country! When I lived abroad we had to pay just to see a Dr. Crazy! Xx

I haven't watched OBEM yet...tonight followed by season finale of walking dead.

I finish work in 6 weeks... 20 working days. Though I'm sure I'll lose a couple of those to appointments.

As an NHS employee I do occasionally get very sentimental about it. For all its flaws (and I know we have them) we are one of the only countries that offer free to access healthcare and the majority of the time the care provided is fantastic.

I have witnessed many a staff nurse going above and beyond for their patients (and have done so myself). Makes me proud :)

Charlie - where did you live abroad? We would love to work abroad in the future (both my grandparents and parents currently live abroad and they love it!). The world is such a small place now.

I freaking love the nhs, they were just brilliant with me when I was poorly, I always remember being on the ward and at about 11pm this man pulled back the curtains, he had his coat and bag ready to go home (I was so out of it n had no idea who he was lol) but the nurses started chatting to him and he said that he'd go back down stairs to scrub up to operate on me, I presume he was about to go home after a really long day. In the end because they'd forced food down me earlier that evening he couldn't operate straight away, but he came back at 6am and did a 4.5hr operation on me. Just an amazing man, n that only scratches the surface of what they did for me while I was in hospital. Even though he stole an ovary and tube I still think he's one of the best men I have ever had the pleasure to come across in my life! Amazing xx

I lived in Turkey for 5 years. My mum was already living there and I went for 3 months and decided to stay :) it was amazing! Met my OH here in liverpool while I was back visiting friends and family and decided I couldn't be away from him. I think one day me and OH will be upping and leaving this country. I need sunshine in my life haha x

I'm glad the staff made the experience as nice as they could for you bethyboo - I know overall it must have been a traumatic event. Sometimes a little care and compassion when you are at your lowest goes a long way.

xx

Charlie - Sounds amazing, wish we could do something like that now. My parents live in the Middle East and my mum is forever sending job adverts my way :)

Would you go back to turkey or try somewhere new? I always liked the idea of America until I visited and realised that the streets weren't paved with gold :D

I would try somewhere new now. Turkey isn't what it was 10 years ago when I was there. It's extremely expensive to live there now. My mum has a house in Bulgaria so they spend more time there. They paid just £4000 for the house and are renovating it. It's so cheap to live there and a very beautiful country :) xx

Totally off subject ladies but was just wondering, do you wash all the baby clothes you've bought before putting them on baby? Some people tell me I should wash everything, others say not to and I'm confused

Oh I'm obsessed with moving abroad! I have a real urge to go and try living somewhere, even if it's just for a couple of years. My dad isn't happy with that idea though and I'm an only child so thinking about my parents not having family here and not getting to see as much of our baby etc makes me apprehensive. In my research though I've become a bit of a pro at American Visa's, it's quite sad actually as it shows how much time I've spent educating myself.

Has there been a water birth on OBEM yet? DH has agreed to watch a water birth on it so we can prepare.

I stop on the 29th May and also feel like I could go on but I'm spending most of my time on here or looking at elephant themed fabrics online. I bet I'm overdue though and bored out of my mind by the end of June!

I really want a baby shower but no ones offered to throw me one. I'm the only person I know who bothers with these things and am usually the one who would organise something like that but I think throwing my own shower may be a step too far! x
