*** June 2015 Mummies ***

We sat and talked last night. We only know we are having William as Middle name as its my grandads name and he's really sick at the moment. We liked Nathan as it means gift from God and we went through so much to get our bfp. I like Joshua, Lucas and OH likes those as well as Ryan. I'm not keen on Ryan though. We had a girls name that we were 100% on as well haha always the way! It's so hard but after a week of baby being born no one bats an eyelid at the name do they. Ha xx

Pismo i do that sleeping position with my pillow as you described - as I get really achy only sleeping on my side all night. Baby doesn't seem to like me sleeping on right side so am kinda stuck on my left, or tilted on my back! Glad to hear you had such a good night, am jealous lol :)!

I'm looking forward to the other girls coming over, feels weird without us all in one forum.

I keep getting an irrational fear of baby coming early. Might calm down when I get to 30 weeks, as feels slightly less scary at that point (tho still not ideal). But i bet i am the one who goes full 2 weeks overdue as well lol!

Morning ladies. Has anyone had any success in battling headaches in pregnancy? I'm really suffering, on week 6 of them and didn't sleep until 4am this morning. I'm doing what doctor suggests, massages, fluids, paracetamol etc. And been listening to relaxing music regularly and had acupuncture but she now wants to sign me off work til baby arrives (still 12 weeks to go!)
I don't want to get signed off work so looking for alternative options if anyone has any. I'm at the end of my tether and its spoiling what should be a lovely time. I'm keeping OH awake and he has to work, I want to enjoy these last 12 weeks not be in agony!

Well I'm officially in the 3rd trimester now! It's crazy how far into the pregnancy I am but it still feels like the days are dragging. Only 3 months left to buy everything and prepare myself for labour. Strangely, I'm not at all worried about the pain of labour, I'm more nervous about potentially having multiple nurses/doctors poking/prodding me in places that I'm not comfortable with! :-(

Charlie - Lovely name choices, Lucas is top on our list at the moment! We're going to wait until LO is here to see if any of our fave names suit though.

Colettey - Not to worry you any further as I am sure you will be fine, but when are you getting your hospital bag ready? OH asked me this last night and I just felt its ages away so why would I worry about it just yet - He got me thinking though!

Emma - The odd occasions I get headaches are normally after a long day at work, the only thing that makes it go is sleep. But that doesn't seem to work for you and you've tried so much more too, I hope you get some release soon. Maybe it would be a good idea to be signed off work? Could stress from that be contributing to them?

Lalaroo - I remember seeing the obstetrician who had given internal checks in town shopping a couple of weeks after I gave birth - Was really awkward but I'm sure he didn't remember me. You don't really notice or care when you are in the throws of labour though.

Hi ladies, back home from our baby moon. Was lovely to get away. Couldn't do all the stuff we hoped, one was a 3 mile cliff walk on uneven terrain having to walk nearly 300 slept first. Lol... Don't think I'd make it halfway... We just took it easy, done a 1.5 mile walk on flat ground lol.. Visited a couple of tea rooms, chilled in our cosy cottage, and went for a lovely roast yesterday afternoon though I got all hormonal and cried as first 2 places wouldn't seat anyone who hadn't booked. Considering we visited a major tourist town it's silly fully booking themselves but I was so relieved when the third place would let us eat there it was the best roast ever haha.. Didn't even care about sitting in the pub section to eat. Considering the first place we walked in at midday was rubbish... Nice to be home now and bought a cuddly toy for bubba as it was our baby moon and they had a really cute soft toy shop. I'll catch up on the other posts later, worn out after 3 hour drive home xx

Emma that's really horrible :-(! I have had a few headaches but nothing like that. I kinda agree with Pismo. Maybe a week off might give you a break from something that might be causing it (computer screen if you work in an office!?). Or might not make any difference at all. But would say that the lack of sleep won't be helping. If you don't get to sleep till 4 then you shouldn't go to work. You will be exhausted and can only imagine that will make it worse. Really does suck tho, no clue what could help as does sound like you are trying it all!

Aw Lucy your trip sounds lovely. Lol at the roast - at least you got something in the end :-)!

Thanks guys, I've had 2 weeks off work and went Back last week just for 4 hours a day which wasn't too bad but then on Friday the headaches came back and I've been ill all weekend! I didn't go today and aren't going tomorrow so will see how I am after that.
can't win really. I'm a bit of a worrier too so that doesn't help. I keep thinking its something really bad even though I've had A CT scan and a lumbar puncture which were both fine. I keep thinking they've missed something!
I hope you ladies Are all well, I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy!

Hey ladies, it still feels weird being In tri3, I need to get my head around reading some of the labour threads but it doesn't feel real that our lil one will be here in around12 weeks. We have so much going on the next few weeks its kinda crazy. Gonna get on with the nursery weekend after next, then any touch ups can be done Easter. ( even though we are away visiting family) can't wait to finish work now too.

Emma these headaches sound awful, I was going to suggest acupuncture but see you have been there...not sure what else to suggest. Have you had your eyes tested? I know it's not pregnancy related but could be linked.

Colletteypie honestly the roast was the best thing ever, haha!!

Pismo I think being tilted is fine as long as you aren't completely flat. I slept so well when we were away, actually had 3 pillows and never really woke up with the rib pain in 3 nights, gonna try at home to see if the height helps.

Charlie your names are nice. Quite liked Lucas but hubby wasn't so keen.

We defo need the rest of the girls over to liven up our thread... Get talking the serious stuff like the types of births we all want and our birthing plans etc... Xx

Lucy I'm finding the labour threads bizarre! My denial is starting to run out and I'm beginning to realise I may have to consider how this baby is going to get out lol!!

I've started my birth plan Already! We're doing hypnobirthing and I swear it's the best thing I've discovered. Being quite an anxious person it's really calmed me down and I'm actually looking forward to labour!
Is anyone else planning a hypnobirth?

I have no idea what hypnobirthing is!!

Think I'll be taking every drug offered :-)! If my pelvis hurts already then not sure how I will cope with a baby squeezing through it :-o....

Got first physio appointment tomorrow. Hoping it can make a difference.

Guess who got to spend Mothers Day in hospital... lucky old me!

We were out at a zoo and felt a gush, more bleeding. Bright red this time so I had to go straight to the nearest hospital. They thought there could be something wrong with the placenta and gave me steroid injections to strengthen the babies lungs in case they need to be delivered early. They kept me in overnight and the bleeding eased off which is a good sign apparently. i had another scan and they said the placenta looked fine and the baby seems healthy so they let me go home about 5.30pm yesterday. Just need to keep an eye on things. If it is the placenta there will be more bleeding so I just need to go straight back to hospital.

Another thing, they said the baby is a boy! I guess the last consultant got it wrong, although we're still unsure it looks like it might be a boy after all!

Oh Buggy, how scary! Glad to hear everything's okay though.

I haven't looked into hypnobirthing yet, it's on my list. My ante natal class is helping to prepare us with breathing techniques, relaxation and massage etc ect, just ways of getting through with as little intervention as possible. I'm really enjoying it! Currently reading a book called "Mindful Birthing" which is good, all about just dealing with each contraction as it comes and not freaking out over what's going to happen. One of the exercises in there is "Mindful Pooping", very odd but I suppose it's the same kinda ballpark haha! But once I've finished that I'll look at hypnobirthing.

Emmababy - what does it entail? It is breathing and relaxation or is there more to it? xx

I started the ante natal classes but they were so negative I stopped going.
The hypnobirthing is all about positive thinking and relaxation really. My course was 4 classes and you have a book and mp3s to listen to. You don't have to go to a class you can do it at home with the book. The mp3s are really relaxing, I put them on for bed and fall asleep so quickly! OH loves them too.
we've learned breathing techniques and visualisations. Also they don't promote forced pushing so you learn to breathing / hum your baby out. We watched a lot of birthing videos and they're so beautiful and peaceful, just what we want. Your birth partner has a big role too so it's nice as they feel more involved. They learn soothing strokes to help you through labour, how to get you to your 'happy place' and can be a go between for the midwives when you're in a relaxed state and don't want to be disturbed.
we've found it beneficial. I'm not remotely frightened about giving birth. In fact I'm looking forward to it now! I'd definitely recommend hypnobirthing especially if you're a bit of a worrier like me.
apologies for the essay!!

That sounds brilliant - mine are NCT classes, I was a bit worried that they were too hippy for me at the beginning but I'm loving it and think it's going to be really helpful. There's a lot there about OH being your advocate during labour as you don't want to be disturbed so he's doing it all with me. Not done anything about forced pushing, except it's only you that knows when you need to push and a doctor or midwife could potentially tell you to start pushing before your body's actually ready. We've done "informed decision making" too which I found really helpful, so each time you're asked if you'd like an intervention (eg breaking of waters or induction) you need to weigh up the benefits and risks, ask about any alternatives and then go with your gut. You can then revisit it again in an hour or something. Obviously if it's an emergency then you have to go with it. Ahh I could talk about this stuff for hours lol, I absolutely love it.

I wasn't really scared of labour before, but now I definitely feel that I can be in control of the situation which makes it a lot less scary and more manageable.

What's the name of the book? xx

The course I'm doing is the wise hippo hypnobirthing course. I think you can buy the book online and it has a code inside for the mp3s. Your course sounds pretty similar. I honestly can't rave about it enough, I tell everyone about it ha ha .

Thanks for the info emma - might check it out. I was feeling okay about labour but i think the pelvis pain thing has freaked me out cos i'm worried that i will need strong pain meds now.

Buggy - that is soooo scary. Can't believe you went through that. So glad to hear all is well. We can't have any of our June mamas being March mamas!!! Too soon for us!

Emma - You've sold me on hypno birthing :) Sounds exactly like how I want this birth to be like following the emergency C-section of my son. I need to be calm and in control. Will look into it in more detail when I have some spare time but thanks for the information so far.

Buggy - You've had an awful time. Hope you and your family, especially bump, are all ok. Fingers crossed nothing else happens and it was just a horrible scare.

Have an exam at 12 and not feeling very confident about it :( revising whilst pregnant is like pouring water into a sieve and expecting it to stay there :(

Also fed up with my 'best friend' who seems to have stopped making any/all effort to stay in touch (I moved away 18months ago for work) despite me messaging her (and I know she has seen them which hurts even more) and trying to arrange to meet up even if it means me travelling to her...

xx

Hope the exam goes okay Pismo - good luck! That sucks about your bf tho :(, really not nice to hear when you are going out of your way to make the effort. Maybe something is going on with her, preoccupying her?
