*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Had quite a rubbish night sleep, feel like I'll never be comfortable again. Feeling quite down this morning, doesn't help the fact I hate my job a bit more each day and I have to work today :(

Buggy I feel the same today, really don't want to go into work today. It's to be a glorious day here today and I hate working a back shift when it's nice outside. We hardly see any sun and it's to rain on my day off tomorrow. Typical. Not only that but I dread working now due to staff that I work alongside, they make me feel like I don't do my job right anymore and are constantly picking at things Iv done wrong.x

My boss is a bit like that. He makes me feel really undervalued. Yesterday he told me my maternity cover is doing 2 days a week to cover my work, which I do 5 full days a week! I can only assume he's saying I don't do enough, but I can only do what there is to be done.

I have the opposite problem to you guys and dont have a lot to do at work at the minute. I hat3 being bored and feel like I could be doing a lot more at home getting stuff ready for baby and catching up on housework. I usually go out and about for my job but work dont want me to travel anymore which limits me a lot.

Now I have GD and wont be allowed much over due date I am debating moving my Maternity leave forward by a couple of days or a week. X

I'm working from home today as I have the midwife this afternoon and it's so much better for my concentration as I'm not that busy either just now so helping colleagues. I have 100 applications to sift today and they're so long, I'm glad I have some peace and quiet.

I agree though that I'm starting to feel it's a waste going in to work. I'm not comfortable at my desk either as my bump doesn't let me pull my chair in to my desk x

Well I've just had another midwife appointment. Bump is now a week behind which is fine. Had my bloods done 2 weeks ago and my blood count has dropped quite a lot since I was first pregnant. I'm on the edge of needing medication for it! With me having a section it's important to get it up. I don't eat red meat so I'm going to live on stir frys with loads of kale and spinach!
I've been struggling to eat more than one meal a day this week, just have zero appetite :( which has caused me to lose some weight too, prob explains my bump shrinking. Anyone else got no appetite?
My weird cravings started anyway, I'm chewing extra strong mints constantly. I eat a packet in like 5 mins, and Ice pops. I read it's anaemia that can cause it so that explains my blood results I've just got. I'm even loving brushing my teeth and the Taste of tooth paste! Weird!!! Xx

I craved minty things in my second pregnancy, particularly rock but I don't live near the sea so that was tricky!

There have probably only been a handful of occasions in my entire life when I have had no appetite. I can always eat!

Just been out with DD, had to buy some ink for work and went to a couple of other shops too. Perk of working from home I suppose, although DD was an absolute turd for most of it, she's really getting in to the terrible two's with all the tantrum throwing :S

I don't have much of an appetite either Charlie and never know what to eat however, I'm a greedy pig so I eat anyway and am drawn to bad foods as I know that I'll find them tasty considering I'm not hungry.

Ah sorry you had to deal with a brat attack Buggy, not looking forward to them but it must be really tough with the pregnancy you're having too.

My midwife appointment went well, wasn't my usual midwife as I guess she's on holiday - not that the midwife who I did see shared that info! Anyway she's confident that baby is now head down yay! She thinks it's a foot in my ribs so it's good to know what it is. I still wonder why I don't get kicks but get huge vibrations instead as I assumed the reason for that was he was breech.

I did mention my groin pain and she said it may just be strain but to keep an eye on it and go to physio encase it's the start of SPD. It's actually been a lot better today so I think my chair at work is contributing to it. Also, the weird red patches next to my knee are now purple, she tells me that's normal...okay! x

Glad baby is in the right position now Belfa, one less thing to worry about

Back from my breastfeeding class, it was definitely interesting. Glad I went. Learned a few tips.. There was only 3 of us there which made it quite nice as didn't go on too much. Had to get myself a strawberry milkshake before going in as was slacking a bit from work this morning. Trying to tidy the house while shattered as my bestie is coming over tomorrow with her LG. (My goddaughter) first time I've seen her since she lost her bubba but think she is doing well. Another one in terrible twos lol...

Glad your baby is in right position now belfa... Have you ever looked on the jojomamabebe site, I just received a wooden elephant for the nursery, it's so cute. I'll try post a pic.

Oh and I keep waking with earache. I think it is related to my rhinitis. Maybe as I'm laying on my side it's causing pressure as it's ok in the day, weird,

Glad to hear baby has moved Belfa. I've had like 3 different midwives so far. Got my 32 week appointment tomorrow so will see if is another new one or not! Weird about the rash Tho, don't know much about that one I'm afraid. And yeah keep an eye on your groin pain. If gets worse just say. A few of us on this thread have PGP so can tell you what helps us out!

Aw good luck with your best friend Lucy. Am sure it will be lovely seeing her but can imagine how hard she might find it. She might surprise you and be doing quite good.

Oh speaking of elephants - mamas and papas have gorg baby grows with wee elephants on them. I was going to buy for my best friend who is pregnant and obsessed with elephants, but they didn't have newborn and that's the size I wanted cos made it super cute :-)!

Also I'm glad the breast feeding class went well Lucy - I have mine in a few weeks. Looking forwards to seeing what is involved! I also have signed up to some sort of breathing/birth position class. Where they tell us what might work best, how to breathe and focus through pain. I'm pretty sure I'm a wimp so will take any help going!

I've also had 3 different midwives and a trainee...hopefully my appointment on Monday will be a bit more straight forward.

I think she is doing well considering... Funny thing is of all the people I kinda get how she feels with all the trouble we had conceiving so she knows we won't be rubbing it in her face as have also felt lost in the past. Hopefully she will open up a bit.

I keep seeing elephant things now lol.. Even though we are jungle animal theme, funnily enough mothercare sent an email with their royal baby range and had a pair of dungarees with an elephant on too.

It's defo worth doing the BF class, even just tips on how to hold baby etc, it all helps...

That elephant is so cute, is it a toy or just decorative?

I ordered elephant wall stickers the other night so have 40 blue elephants on their way...lol! Boots have nice elephant things too including a baby towel with an elephant's head for a hood. I don't know if the baby market has always had loads of elephant stuff or if it's just this year? x

It is both belfa, the wheels turn, just like one of those old fashioned wooden toys lol at 40 elephants... x

I have one midwife who specialises in homebirths, and she has only missed one appointment with me when she was at a birth, so I've done well I think, she now has a student midwife with her until I've had Mya, and she does the blood taking and measuring bump, but she's lovely so I don't mind.

Oh I've done well with cravings so far but right now I NEED Pepsi and we don't have any so I've got face on lol

Good Morning ladies. I've done well with cravings. Mine has been for celery so I've been stuffing my face happily with that! Though the chocolate tin has been raided a lot more over recent weeks, I can see my face and ass expanding rapidly over the last week!
I've quite literally got a pain in the arse! My tail bone is so sore, causing me a lot of discomfort sat on my chair at work today. Don't know what to do to ease it really other than sitting on my ball or a blow up pillow, neither of which I have at work!
hope you're all well.

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is well!
does anyone else get kicks and movement almost entirely below the belly button? I have almost nothing higher up and wonder what that might mean for baby's position. Ive still not had my 28 week appointment and am 29 weeks...grrrr.

Rachyroo, I think sometimes the position of the placenta can effect which movements you feel too, so maybe not always easy to tell. It could be down to position though, the midwife should be able to have a feel and tell you.

I'd say b/fing classes are worthwhile. They do give you some useful advice. Although I don't think they made enough of a point just how much of the time you have to be feeding, particularly in the beginning. I didn't realise and as a result I wasn't prepared to give it enough of my time which I think is one of the reasons I failed. I had to go back to work, had a family wedding, lots of visitors, too many interruptions. This time I'm more prepared to devote the time I need!

Hmmm like buggy said could be your placenta. I get most my kicks at top of my uterus, which is only a few inches shy of my boobs now!! I can feel wee jabs low down which I'm not loving and think that is the arms.

Had my 32 week appointment this afternoon and went well. Measuring spot on for dates and bloods are all normal. Thankfully my pee also has no protein! Also had pelvis physio this morning and she was really impressed with my progress :-)! Said bump is lookinhg neat and toned haha! So hopefully my pelvic floors will be in good condition come birth!!
