Good to hear Jem. I'd say any of us who ever went up for reduced movement would tell you they start up kicking the minute youre hooked up to a trace or being examined. It's as if they know rightly haha. Then you have to go "I swear they weren't doing this an hour ago" Definitely agree hun if it happens again go straight up, I got told too with dd. The joys of anterior placenta! Glad baby is just stubborn xx

Well OH is very well known to be a wind up merchant so I'm gonna say that baby is just like his daddy and likes to make me worry until the point and then pop up laughing like nothing has happened!! I was so embarrassed but relieved at the same time haha x

Shep I missed that part about your mum. That's a real hard one. We can only please so many people. I wish people wouldn't emotionally blackmail us about names though. I have no preference to what Ivy wants to call her children so I guess I don't get it when mums want babies named after them. Or constantly give us a million trillion names. Like you named us, so what's the issue with us naming ours?

My mum asked too for this baby to be named after her. Her name is Christina but I already have my names picked out. If my mum thought I named her after my gran she'd go mental lol, even if it was a coincidence Family I swear. Hope dd is picking up a little. It's snowing here and I'm beyond fed up. One more cold for us will push me over the edge lol xx

Wtf, would never ask my kid to nams their kid after me. Wouldnt care what they called it. As parents its our choice idk why people think they have any influance? People keep asking us if weve picked a name even though ive said were not picking until hes born god knows how many times.
Offending people is why weve not picked to have a middle name after anyone... Even though i wanted dds middle name after my nan. :/

Jem, dd done that all the time, theu dont like the moniters or dopplers. If you ever get hooked up to a HB moniter he will go mental lol.

All the name discussion yesterday did have one brilliant outcome, that me and hubby sat down and had a proper solid chat about the 2 names we narrowed it down to and decided we are using them both hahaha One as first name, one as a middle haha we just had to decide the order which took a bit longer but now we fully have our babys name Super excited, not telling anyone else but told my best friend who lost her mind with excitement so I'm glad she liked it. If she didn't she'd prob suck it up anyway cuz she wouldn't do that to me but she genuinely seemed to love it and had all these ideas for personalised name toys and blankets hahaha

Jem Im really glad everything is okay with the baby and that he was just being stubborn hehe I love how they scolded you too, now you have to remember not to feel like a bother or silly if you feel you want checked as they take it seriously and will tell you off again if you dont heheh

GG hope you are rested up and feeling okay and Shan after your busy day!

I'm currently just embracing the fact my body keeps waking me up like every 2 hours cuz at least Ill be okay waking up to feed the baby right? xx

I'm still at home. Need to get dressed and get to the pub to start cooking, lol. Everything is covered in snow so not sure anyone will be in...so I'm doing a mini carvery just in case so I don't have to waste a load of food if nobody turns up, lol

Jem, glad baby is fine. You're always better safe than sorry and it's bloody typical that he started kicking when you went up!

With names, we have our girl's name. It's the original one we had but I then went off. I've come back round to it as I can't find an alternative that I like at all. My family and best friend know what it is and they all seem to like it. OH is refusing to tell his half of the family as he's sure they'll all try to force their own opinions on us!

I think I had a bit of a mad nesting moment yesterday. I decided I needed to thoroughly clean the bathroom floors and skirting boards so was down on my hands and knees scrubbing like Cinderella. Haha.

Also, I've just realised my due date is down as the 20th. Can you change it to the 17th please Shan as all the doctors seem to be using my original due date again. Thanks

Hey everyone

Had a dump of snow overnight, winter just won’t quit will it?

I felt like we made a mistake early on by sharing a shortlist of possibly names with the in-laws.. although they didn’t say anything wrong they definitely weighed in with their opinions and I immediately thought we should have kept it to ourselves. So we’ve not mentioned names since to anyone and we’ve chosen our name (and it wasn’t even on the original list). We won’t tell anyone now until she is born. I’m hoping that will be simpler and it means there will be less pressure to change or attempts to persuade a change. They only issue with the name with chosen is there is a shortened version I don’t like which could be a challenge

Arrrrggggghhhhhh it's snowing again!!!!! Fuck sake I could have cried opening my blinds I swear. I want to be cutting my grass, getting my garden sorted so I can sit out with baby, and sorting out DDs pretty dresses our weekend away at the start of April. But nooo instead I'm buying everyone wellies just incase. Gutted I can't go abroad this Easter I seriously need to feel some sun. Nothing interesting planned for us but OH has decided to decorate the bathroom so at least something will get done off my huge list of "sort this place out before the baby comes"

Came home about 6 yesterday and started to feel it in my pelvis. By last night I was hobbling about like I was 39 weeks gone. May have overdone it at the party plus I'm sure being out all day in the cold didn't help. DD hasn't stopped going on about it though so I feel less guilt about how little we've done together lately with me feeling so crap.

Anyone else waking up really sore in the mornings? My bump and pelvis and ribs just kill when I wake up already. I'm also having a tough time getting comfortable enough to sleep in the first place. My bed is like a pillow fort at night lol.

Thanks Shan. Haha, pillow fort. My bed also looks a bit like that too. Some days I have painful hips and then other days completely fine. It's weird.

Fela I'm the same in that the name we have has a shortened version, which I hate. We're lucky at least as there's another shortened version that I quite like so if people want to shorten her name they'll be told to use that one!

This winter is never ending. Hope the snow disappears for you quickly.

Ladies i need your opinion if anyone still online

So just went to the bathroom and had some discharge, mucus like. For those of you who have had a baby it looked like plug. Slightly off colour like brown/peachy. And then I've had some blood when wiping. But I have to go inside to wipe it if that makes sense. They've said put a pad on becuase I'm not bleeding properly and it's "only on wiping" that I've to phone back in an hour I'm fucking freaking out.

Oh Shan. Can imagine you're freaking out. I don't know how much advice I can offer here other than to try and keep calm and take it easy for the next hour. Have you had any pain at all? Maybe it could be related to not feeling great recently? Our bodies react so weirdly to stress and illness.

Try not to panic Shanivy. You've probably just over done it yesterday, but obviously get it checked. Last pregnancy I lost chunks of mucus often from 28 weeks, i mean like tablespoon amounts every week or so but I'd been told that the plug often "refreshes" (sorry can't for yhe life of me think of the word I'm looking for) itself.

Let us know how you get on. Sorry you're feeling so rubbish. We've had another big dumping of snow to. The wind is the worst it's just bitter. I was so keen to take the dog out so I could get some fresh air but the wind was so bad I couldn't breathe the air in properly

Sorry shan can't help but hope they do something for you other than tell you to put a pad on cos that's fucking useless information.

As for the feeling sore, my hips are always sorest in the morning and click like fuck whenever I turn in bed. Have you got SPD shan? X

They don't want to see me. Her words "it's not a concern if it's not running down your legs" But if you're concerned phone me back....for what exactly?!

I give up. How people get in for a scan at 5 weeks but I cant get a cervical exam at 24 fucking weeks I don't know. I had shooting pains but they've gone. Like when baby gets your cervix, which made me check and then I saw the discharge. It's the colour that had me worried. Then seeing a bit of blood freaked me out all over again.

Now I'm overanalysing everything. Maybe it's from yesterday but I honest to god thought if I was phoning almost in third trimester they'd see me. Apparently I have to go into labour or lose my baby to be seen at this piece of shit hospital. I hate being pregnant this time I feel like I can't trust anyone. Am I stupid? I literally tell everyone to check checked out if anything worries you but when its me I can't get fucking in! Ever. I just want it over with and her out so I don't have to rely on anyone else to keep her safe other than me

I'm so sorry shan u must be so worried. How useless of them, I feel like literally unless you in full emergency crisis they're not bothered and by that time it's too late. Utterly pointless!

I was told by the emergency obstetrics unit that if there was any pain and bleeding to go in and get seen. I wish u could go to my one cuz they didn't seem concerned how early or late on I was and actuallt checked the baby

Aw Shanivy I'm so sorry you're having such a rough day

How are you feeling now? Has the blood on wiping stopped? Did you call them back?

It's so frustrating that they won't do anything to put your mind at ease. You had a big day yesterday and you've been so run down so I don't blame you for being so upset. Is your oh home today?

A friend of mine recently gave birth, she was home in labour and rang to say she wanted to go to the hospital soon, they said no she wasn't labouring hard enough yet and to stay home. She started bleeding, like really bleeding and called again and they were like "it'll just be a show" and she was like "no my bathroom floor looks like a murder scene this isn't right" they still said no but her boyfriend took her anyway and thank God he did as she had a big hemorrhage. I alway's think mums know best and it's so annoying when midwives are so blasé

I'm currently watching this week's one born with some whole nut dairy milk and a glass of milk. Got the usual twinges I get when I watch it haha

Shan i would phone them up ans demand it. They made me have a cervical exam at 30 weeka for a tiny bit of spotting!! Your hospital is fking silly. What if it was your bloody show??? They cant say it is or isnt over the the phone. I would just go into matertiny assessment... They cant send you away without checking you.
