****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

Morning everyone

Another one with no sleep here. We ended up sleeping in this morning so no nursery for dd. I think she's coming down with a cold too, which I'll get probably just in time for going away. I swear every time I see cold symptoms in any of us I could actually cry. I have so had enough of this fucking weather

KHTW maybe have oH start putting her to bed and see if there's a difference? Gosh you need sleep too xx

Sarah ah right got you , I didn't even know you could view them online, maybe we can't in Scotland xx

I've never been told about online notes so not here in Glos either.

Morning everyone. I told the lady who was due to loan Mickey about everything this morning. She was devastated, then said she found out last week she is pregnant and her partner left her this week. I feel so very sorry for her :(

Really sorry everyone is struggling with sleep. I actually slept really well ladt night, bloody needed it so I hope the sleep fairy comes to visit you too. Xxx

Double post ffs what is wrong with my phone

Lol...normally I'd feel a pang of guilt, but I had to do bacon butties for 30 at 9 this morning so had to start cooking early, just about to go back to do lunch and have a busy night on tonight, so I'm just glad I got sleep while I could, lol.

So glad that after Sunday Carvery, lunches are only Friday and Saturdays for a while. I love doing it and it is picking up nicely, but I will be really glad of having my day times back.

I met with a published author yesterday in the pub and I started writing a book for my nieces last year. Sent to a few people who all told me to try and get it published when I finished. This author was in to sort a mutual arrangement whereby he puts the pub in his book and we do a book signing there for him when it's published this Sept/Oct. He said how lovely it was to talk to someone genuinely interested so I told him about mine and he asked me to send him the first three chapters to read and possibly forward to his publisher and agent. He asked me to tell him about it, but I have the chapters on my phone, via cloud so he read the first few pages and said it's publishable as is...so he'll read to make sure it builds as a book should and I should get it finished. Quite exciting really.

Right, off to pub now, Counting down the days until things get easier. At least Mickey is happy today now that he's drugged up to his eyeballs bless him. xx

Hey everyone, can't believe it's still only tri 2 and I'm miles behind you all anyway.

I have been absent for what feels like years haha I tried but couldn't catch up- far too many posts! Hope everyone is doing well and not suffering too much from this weather and pregnancy symptoms/colds/flus.

Congrats Sarah on your boy- sorry if I missed anyone else who found out their gender!

I had my 20 week scan last wed finally. They've moved my dates back...again...so now due date 5th August (I actually feel like my pregnancy is going backwards) but Imma stay in the July thread cuz you guys are awesome haha The scan itself was amazing, they couldn't confirm that its definitely a girl cuz her legs were crossed but I got to see so much! bladder, 2 kidneys, diaphram, 4 chambers of the heart, her cerebellum and the two lobes of the brain just to name a few. It was all really surreal, but at the same time has made it all seem more of a reality haha It's starting to finally sink in that we actually have a real live baby at the end of all this and that me being ill constantly and having so much exhaustion/pain/worry is actually going to be worth it haha

They couldn't get everything the needed so I have to go back in early April for another scan, and they've booked in my glucose test but I'm sure it'll be fine :) just a pain cuz its 8am on a sunday (Ew) They did confirm that it is definitely a fibroid that I have which is really stressful cuz although they've said that it shouldn't affect the baby it is still another thing to worry about and also something they will need to treat if it doesnt shrink/disappear by itself after. The funny thing is they told me that usually the only impact fibroids can have is it can make people struggle to conceive...clearly not the case for me. Other than that I just have to get through any pain from it and bear it out til the end of the pregnancy. I got a bump support belt though which has been immensely helpful even though I don't really have much of a bump yet but the support has been great for my lower back which is already weak.

We have finished all the baby shopping we are going to do, my mum went overboard and has started buying way ahead of schedule (I mean toys for 3+ are really not necessary right now!) The only thing left we need to do is pick the cot, the mattress and bedding which we already have an idea of the one we want but have just been too busy to actually sit down and make a final decision.

Anyway, random long post but I think that's all other than we are determined as ever to get our own place, considered a new car for a while there but after viewing some although we now know the car we want we decided the money is better placed in our house deposit haha xx

Yay!! You're back! I am very envious at how much you have for baby. Putting me to shame, lol

Haha I was thinking the same GG, I've hardly bought anything yet arghhhh!!

Even my mum has bought like 100 times more things than me!

haha tbh my mum bought most of it but I was with her at the time, we would go shopping together and then she would insist on paying. It's not free though really, there's an emotional cost haha As GG said ages ago- babies don't actually need that much at the start.

We have had to curb her enthusiasm though as we don't have anywhere to put toys and random things the baby can't even use until they're 3?! haha Like steady on! We are struggling for space as it is until we get our own place and when we move itll just be more stuff to move that they won't even be ready for hahaha xx

Or...adopt my plan with the in laws....anything they buy that we don't want or need..."oooh, that's fab. Best take it back to keep at yours for when we visit" ;)

hahah I did actually get to that stage, my mother is under no illusion that anything that she buys that is from about 9months + will be living at her house when we move out until the baby is ready for it.

I told her we don't have the storage for it in our 1 bedroom we are living out of in her house so she can worry about where she's putting it, and it's nothing to do with us if she buys it and then when we move, she can worry about where it's staying until it's a reasonable time for it to be given to the child hahaha She wasn't best pleased and it has slowed down her buying, she's gone from like an item per day to once per week haha xx

Laura nice to see you back. We did wonder the other day if all was well. How organised are you lol. We've quite a lot that will be going to granny's too "sure you can take that for your house" xx

GG very exciting about the book! Do we get a discount haha. I'll be rolling up for that. Saw your post on Mels thread, try not to worry about what your friend said. I'd go with what your consultants are advising. Don't give youself extra stress hun. But if you're worried about the options given to you make an appointment to discuss it xx

Thanks Shanivy! It feels good to be back, I don't know why I stayed away haha I got myself too anxious about coming back to 238949 posts hahaha

We are even more organised now! Just picked the cot and the mattress we want haha Going to buy it next week when hubby gets paid, could get it now with my credit card or use the overdraft but we are trying to just use cash and not borrow or anything.

I didn't see your post GG so no idea what's happening but hope everything is okay xx

Basically, friend is shocked that I've been told water birth is safest option for me now. It's always been c section due to the pelvic break, now they e changed their mind. My friend did 4 years obstetrics (more than the one I saw yesterday) and is an anaesthetist. She cannot fathom the change as there is no basis for it in her medical knowledge...to the point, a c section should, in her opinion, backed by that of the other three obstetric consultants I've previously seen, be my ONLY option.

It has really thrown me. I've spent the day having to tell my late friends mum and other friends that her horse has to be put to sleep, sorting out arrangements for that and trying to get my head around this. I am really struggling. I keep falling to pieces crying.

I'm so lucky with my mum, she takes note of things I like and always buys in accordance to that. I said I wanted a swinging crib and sent her a screenshot of the crib bedding I wanted.. Next time I visit there is the swinging crib and bedding set! She knows me so well that even the clothes she's bought are what I'd buy. We're so so close though. I have had to tell her to stop buying and spending her money now as she is disabled and on disability benefit, but she just loves to buy things lol. I told her no more so she buys a £40 baby bean bag that I saw once and said I liked!!

GG for something so important maybe ask for a second opinion from an actual consultant and not a registrar? I know all registrars check their plans with consultants but I would suggest getting checked over by an actual obstetric consultant and discuss the differing views. You want things as smoothly as possible so chase chase chase to get the best option and answer possible x

GG I'm sorry you're going through it right now hun.

What is it that you would like to do? I would definitely arrange an appointment with your consultant to discuss your labour. If you're dead set on a section then tell them that. Don't let it stress you that much. At the end of the day if a vaginal labour frightens you that much then tell them you aren't comfortable with the newest decision. Ask them to explain how they've suddenly changed their minds. Anything you're unhappy with get it sorted, it's your baby, your labour and your right to be comfortable with your birth plan regardless. But don't base all your decisions on your friend though. Xx

It was a consultant yesterday Jem. Said it on her badge and that's how she was introduced to me.
