****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

Oh wow GG, sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead. Good luck. Lots of well-deserved rest after I hope!

Hubby is away at a conference for work today but I have a friend visiting so hoping to go out and maybe have a look at the shops. I might look at some furniture for baby's room since we have nothing in that regard except for a next-to-me cot for the first few months. A chest of drawers would be helpful as I think we are going to get given a lot of newborn clothes from my brother-in-law and need somewhere to put them!

I had a headache yesterday too. Please don't tell me this is the start of a new symptom in trimester 2!

Have a nice weekend ladies :)

Definitely mentioned headaches to your midwife but it's not usually something to worry about. I had a week or so where I had a really bad head. I saw a gp for something different, she was 35 weeks pg and we compared for a bit and she said headaches are very common during tri 2, again just hormones etc and that it would calm down and mine did. Paracetamol; rest; lots of water and a cold compress should ease it a bit

Jem Ugh I know such a nightmare. This is what they told me the other day though...

Headaches can't harm baby and can be from most likely hormones or dehydration. Paracetamol is fine to take. Paracetamol doesn't usually work on migraines though and they told me with a migraine if I'm worried, or they last more than 24 hrs to call as it's a possible sign of preeclampsia. Migraines don't affect the baby either in general. In my case though it's just from a viral infection. Which I think is starting to ease up finally now and feels more like a bad headache now. Thank god. Over 48 hours of one is enough to last me a lifetime! Definitely mention them to your midwife though, they're a pain to deal with. Xx

GG good luck with your weekend, sounds hectic but promising. Take care of yourself too though xx

Hope everyone has a nice mothers day tomorrow, mummies and mummies to be

So...was out getting more plates for tomorrow when the barman called to say he'd taken another booking for 9 at 3pm. We were fully booked and he knew. I've had to get more meat and more of everything in the worst traffic with dickheads everywhere. Poor Dan, I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel.

I am now actually dreading tomorrow. Thank god I have a waitress coming in.

I'm really used to migraines having always suffered with them.

My sister had her anomaly scan today and the baby has a cleft lip both sides and brain was growing below the normal scale. I feel so so so sad for her and she's taken it really well. There was no consultant there for her to see or any senior member of staff so she has to wait until next week to talk to someone. She rang her midwife and they asked if she wanted to continue with the pregnancy :( honestly my heart breaks for her x

Oh my god Jem that's awful. Hopefully she'll be booked in first thing next week for an MRI to get a better look at babies brain. There's so much that can be done for clefts now. My cousin had quite a few surgeries as a child but very successfully. My sister is one of the UK's leading neofascial surgical dental hygienists so if your sister can get any specific details, forward them to me and I'll get her opinion for you.

Regarding brain growth, it can catch up I believe, but there are no guarantees.
She may be taking it well but I'm sure she's really going to need you now. No matter our differences, siblings know each other like nobody else ever can so I'm glad she has you on her side.

Big hugs to you too...that's your little boys cousin as well, must be very upsetting for you xx

Hi ive just discovered this forum and am also due in July (12th) We found out last tuesday that we're having a girl so really excited about that :) Hope you dont mind me joining your group. How is everyone getting on with your planning? We've still not bought anything yet the only thing we have got is the furniture for the nursery which my MIL and her mother got us. Feel like we're not very organised but at the same time dont want to get too much too early...

Jem that's so awful I can't believe she couldn't seen by a consultant given the circumstances. How are you doing hun , that's your little nephew as well. Must be very scary not knowing exactly what is going on until she sees someone. I really hope consultants can give her some positive news next week. Hugs xx

Hi KM and welcome to July mummies. Don't worry at all about feeling unprepared, all we have is a few bibs and baby grows bought by friends. That's it and we're not remotely worried. They need very little at the start.

Congratulations on your baby girl. I'm team yellow so total surprise here but I've gone from thinking boy to thinking girl, lol. Have no preference so it really doesn't matter x

Oh Jem I'm so sorry for your sister. What a worry having to wait to see someone. I hope you're feeling okay I know it must be a worry for you to

Hi to KMc86! Congrats on your girl. I'm expecting my second girl so I'm pretty prepared but everyone is different

Ooh welcome to July mummies, I've added you to the page. Congrats on your girl. I'm the same as Shep, having my 2nd girl due 4th. You're our only 12th date so far lol.

I think I'm pretty relaxed compared to the first time with planning and in general getting organised. With dd I had list after list after list haha. Our nursery is currently our third bedroom/junk room and still in need of a serious clear out. Haven't touched it yet. Personally I'm all for getting things in when you see them, never thought much of the whole buying too early thing. If you see it, want it, go for it. Hope your pregnancy is treating you well xx

This morning we put the draws together I can’t wait to fill the draws with the clothes and get the room set up properly!!
Went out for a lovely meal with the in laws a Mother day meal.

Sorry for your sister Jem. That's awful. I hope the baby's brain develops well and the cleft lip can be easily fixed post partum. Not easy.

Happy birthday Amy :) Hope you have my walk with hubby and the dogs. Xxx

Janey, that's a beautiful scan pic :)

So, I got to sleep at 2am. Been awake since 4 as the babies kicking woke me up. The whole lower part of my bump and up the sides, basically full length of round ligaments seems to be in some sort of very semi-cramped state. Any movement makes it hurt, turning in bed, even really slowly, walking, getting up and down.
I'm dreading today now. Waitress called to say she couldn't work at fucking 10.20 last night. A table of 8 walked out 4 minutes before their food was due to go out tonight. I'd happily say if it was my fault, but they booked for 5 and turned up with 8 and kids. Anything 6 or more and we need to get pre-order 24 hours in advance as it's such a small kitchen. They left due to kids needing to go to bed, but had booked a table at 6pm and didn't order til 7...even though I told them that we had another booking then so would need their order by 6.30 and it would be a 40 minute wait on the mains. 44 minutes is when the mains were ready. 4 fucking minutes over. They could see Dan plating up. They understood it was more their doing so weren't angry and are looking forward to coming back to try us again as they loved the starters but fuck me, we worked our bollocks off trying to sort it all and my body is really punishing me now.
Alarm due to go off in 30 minutes and we'll be at the pub for 6 to start veg as there's just so fucking much to do. I'm feeling oddly overwhelmed as I'm really not able to dart around refilling veg and clearing tables with such a painful abdomen but I have no choice. It's at least £600 income.

Please, all the God's, if there are any out there, let us be ready on time and let my body cope just one day. I promise I will do absolutely fuck all but rest on Monday. I promise.

Ladies, send me some strength and energy...I don't know this feeling. I am and always have been that person who just gets shit done. No matter what. I'm the crisis person that never panics, just assess, makes a quick plan, sorts everyone out and gets the job done. This morning, for the first time in my life, I am doubting my ability to do that because I'm not sure I can physically cope. The good thing is, I'm feeling plenty of movement. That's at least reassuring me that baby is okay.

I'm sorry for the emotion dump. I'm not used to stress.

Happy Mother's day to you all. Hope you all get spoiled rotten and have a lovely day. Xxx

Sending hugs GG sounds like you're having a hectic time. You can do it though! And deep down you know you can!

As for the people who left like that I'd be asking them not to come back! What a stress for you for it to amount to nothing

Sounds really busy GG, I’m sure the extra custom is down to the hard work you’ve already put in, today is going to be tough but I’m sure you’ll nail it :)

Happy mother’s and mother’s-to-be day to everyone :)

Talking to DH this morning, he may need to go to a conference in Canada in September and we were wondering how feasible it would be for me and the baby to go with him... mostly because at least one flight will already be paid for by his work and it would be a good opportunity to introduce the baby to DH’s auntie and uncle who live over there. I like the idea in theory but would be worried that she would be so young and it would mean flights to Ottawa and then a second flight out to Toronto....what do you lot think?
