It has hasn't it. I thought it on the weekend but it's always quiet on the weekend...just doesn't really seem to have picked up since :(

Ugh PB that's an awful dream!! Takes a while to get those ones out of your head doesn't it? Xx

Definitely quiet lately. I'm pretty shit lately so nothing to post that wouldn't be just uninteresting moaning lol..

Sarah hope alls well and you're celebrating your blue or pink bundle xx

So exciting that you felt hiccups GG! I’ve recently felt something that felt different but I don’t know if it was a hiccup, I told DH it was like a ripple or the baby ‘tickling’. What did it feel like to you?

Yeah, PB, I really feel for you. I've had a couple like that recently. The weirdest by far was me going into labour in bed at home. Had a boy, he was perfect but we went off to hospital for checks. When we went to visit him in the nursery after I'd been examined...through the glass windows was a zoo enclosure with a load of crocodiles and a white lion...who was apparently out baby.
The next part of the dream was Dan saying that it would be okay as we got a second chance if the baby didn't work??? 3 days later, Labour in bed at home again and it was a perfect little girl. She latched on to me straight away and off we went to hospital again, dreading what would happen, but all was fine and then the dream turned into me being a sales rep for a pharma company, lol

It was a very definite, rhythmical bumping/popping feeling. Undeniable. I knew what it was straight away. Xx

Sorry ladies it's been Hectic, everything was perfect and as it should be....anyway .....

It's a boy 😊😊😊😊😀😀 xx

I've been a bit quiet since my scan, just trying to process all the emotions and also been very tired at work. I guess if there was any slight preference there it might have been for a girl, but I do love this baby so much already, it was just quite a bit to absorb!
Also our sonographer was horrible. She never smiled, she kept contorting me into all sorts of positions. She didn't even ask whether we wanted to know the sex of the baby, just announced that there were some extra bits all jumbled up with the umbilical cord that needed to be checked out at the end... Then she said no, they're definitely boy bits. We were like, oh, right ok, and she carried on checking other things. It was just quite anti climactic and even OH who is usually very generous said he didn't like her when she left the room. He asked if everything was ok with the baby and she said, only what we can see, it looks ...ok, it looks ok. Like, I wasn't worried but she didn't reassure OH or anything.

Then we went straight from there to a house viewing we were really excited about but ended up being absolutely tiny but otherwise perfect, which was also a bit of a downer.

And I guess I was surprised that I wasn't AS excited as I thought I would be about having a boy. I really thought I was having a girl. A couple of years ago, I ended up looking after my friend's baby boy pretty much full time for a few months when she went through a mental health crisis, and we have been extremely close since his birth 5 years ago. I guess I'm already comparing in a way, like, oh but I know what baby boys are like, but you know I KNOW this will be completely different, all babies are, and this is MY baby and I will love him with all my heart. It's just been strange. And I'm still extremely tired.

GG, I would LOVE to feel hiccups! Also I found out at the scan that I havr a huge anterior placenta! I was so shocked since I've been feeling movements since 14 weeks but would make sense why I can't feel much when I palpate my tummy/try to feel kicks from the outside or why OH hasn't been able to feel any kicks yet/hear a heartbeat! He was heartbroken when I said it might be a little longer then before you can feel the baby kicking.
Any of you ladies had an anterior placenta before? Will I still be able to see bump move etc later on in pregnancy?

Sorry been quiet too. Just so busy and tired!

Janey my placenta is anterior, felt baby kick higher up for the first time today, around my belly button area. Normally only feel him really far down. I'm hoping I'll start having stronger higher up movements soon and OH will hopefully feel him soon.

Janey I know exactly how you feel about wanting a girl and feeling guilty you're not excited it's a boy, honestly it does settle in and now I am so excited for him to come, it takes time and don't feel bad it's just human nature x

Congrats on the boy Sarah! We're evening out now I think with boys and girls.

Janey, what a horrid sonographer. They bloody well know how much we have riding on what they see and honestly, Dan and I would have been mortified to have the sex announced unwanted. We would be okay if we accidentally saw something but to be announced like that...not on.

You will come round to it all as Jem says I am sure.

As for anterior placenta, you can see mine in my scan pics a few pages back. It's thicker at the bottom as baby is head is down so it does mean I feel a bot more around and even now above my belly button. I feel pretty much nothing very low down.
That said, I felt flutters at 14 weeks as well and yet it took me really until about a week ago to feel proper movement and kicks. It was only Sunday/Monday I think that Dam first felt it from the outside. He's also heard the heartbeat with his ear on my belly and the wooshing sounds of baby moving. It's not uncommon at all to take longer with anterior as I have learned but you will both feel your little more soon enough.

I've already noticed a pattern of movement in terms of times a day now. I will be woken at around midnight but oh for about 5 minutes. Then sometime between 5am and 5.30 and that seems to be morning exercise/play time as it kicks the living shit out of me and does what feel like cartwheels and backflips. Then nothing til about midday, then again mid afternoon and about 9pm.

Morning,

Sorry for the brief message last night we were round my parents house and I suddenly thought OMG you will all be waiting to hear lol.

Sonographer wrote the gender in the card for us then off we went to the balloon shop and she opened the card and made the big reveal.

She said everything was as it should be and he weighs currently roughly 13oz which is spot on!! I thought I was small too so that was good to hear.

Anyway here's some photos and ones of the reveal moment.

Also a link to the video https://youtu.be/se0cuupB5Hc

There is one of his little feet.....it's so cute

Xx

Lovely photos Sarah! What a nice way to do things

Janeyjan sorry that you didn't have a nice experience

I guess most people's sickness and anxieties have calmed down which makes the thread quieter

Personally I'm still just floating about on a massive high that I'm getting my dream of two girls. I feel so lucky. I saw my SIL yesterday who said my MIL had been saying "oh I'm sure they're not done, she's a fabulous mum and they'll definitely want to try once more for a boy". I was just like "nope, I really am finished".

I watched one born last night and managed not to cry, although I swear I was suffering imaginary contractions while watching haha

Anyone got any nice plans this weekend?

Congrats Sarah on your boy, and very cute gender reveal xx

Shep I'm the same as you. All I ever wanted was two girls. We're definitely done too. I guess though for me it's been a bit of a struggle with how hard I'm finding this pregnancy in the last weeks. It's been one thing after another and being ill/sick/in pain constantly for so long has really gotten me down, especially as I'm desperate to enjoy my last pregnancy. I'm really hoping a shift in weather soon helps

No plans for today just trying to hopefully shift my migraine for Sunday. As to Sunday plans, it's being kept a secret from me lol, despite DD trying to hint to me what she's bought or made or is doing. haha .

What are your plans? Xx

Sorry you're still feeling so rough Shanivy. I really hope the migrane. Clears before tomorrow. How lovely you're having a surprise. My DD loves keeping secrets

Not a lot for me today, we need to pop to tesco. Husband is going to a head wetting this afternoon so we'll probably walk puppy and chill. Tomorrow were off to a bird sanctuary type place for a nice day out as it's supposed to be drier. Someone offered to check the sheep in the afternoon so fingers crossed husbands morning jobs don't take too long

Congrats Sarah on your boy. Great idea for a gender reveal as well!

Lovely reveal Sarah :)

Hope you feel better soon Shan. Awful to have a migraine hang around.

I'm trying desperately to build myself up to start what promises to be a lucrative but fucking nightmare weekend. Rugby today so very busy on top of prep for a fully booked mother's day carvery tomorrow so I fully expect to get about 4 hours sleep tonight and work around 12 hours today and 14 hours tomorrow. Yawn!

It'll be worth it though.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

I've been getting headaches every single day, they feel like pressure. Do you think I should mention it or maybe it's just normal headaches?

Oh shan I had a migraine last week and they honestly are the worst thing! Had a headache every day since!

Sarah love that gender reveal, amazing :)

Do mention it, your 24 week appointment must be due soon...perfect time to ask. Xx

Mine is a week Monday so I'll be 24+5 by then but it was either that or see a different midwife and I honestly love mine so much, she gets really excited when she sees me and me her so wait I will.
