****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

PB sorry long post! Well to be honest I lost my shit so badly that she got the point very bluntly.

I honestly said very close to "Let me make this very clear. Just because your son is her dad, does NOT mean you can make any decisions for me. She is MY daughter, I will always come before you. I decide what she can get done, what she can eat and drink (she was giving her coke?! At 11 months Arghhhh!) Stop saying "she's my grandchild so..." That means nothing to me. She's my baby.. I decide who she gets to see and if you can't follow basic rules then I can't trust you to ever have her." I said I wouldn't let my own mum do anything like that either.

I also told her that she was causing serious problems between me and oh because he didn't agree with her, but still felt like he had to defend her. I said that all she would do is split us up and I'd end up going back to Belfast (we wouldn't have but still it was a good threat) When we argued over the earrings everything she used to do came out and I was literally like "oh and another thing" lol. Then I kicked her out and me and oh had the worst fight of our relationship.

I also had to get OH to realise that if she overstepped, it was his mother and he needed to show that we both thought she was out of line. Not just "oh Shan overreacting again, but my son thinks it's okay so" He'd tell me how mad he was about something but never really properly confront her about it. Said he was a grown man and didn't like arguing with his mum. He realised though that he had to start, especially the way she was with me, like it didn't matter I was the mum because the dad was her boy.

I had to really try to build a relationship with her tbh. In the last two year it's been hard work but I did it for Ivy. Anything she did I don't think was malicious, just very fucking stupid . Now I just tell her straight otherwise I'd seeth over it. I know how you feel but I couldn't go through it all again with this baby. But we do have a decent relationship now though, I even let her come with us to a scan this time because she'd never ever been to one, and she cried xx

Firstly, I absolutely believe you because it's absolutely what my MIL would find an acceptable thing to do. They sound really quite alike and I'm glad you fired both barrels at her for it. I would be incandescent and would take a long time to move past it. Utterly unbelievable!

Janey, that sounds really scary. Do you think it's worth going on light duties?
Also, if you were off work for pregnancy related anything, they can't have you on any kind of warning. Get in touch with your union rep!

Tri 3 really isn't far off is it. Got my second anomaly scan on Monday and I'll be 22+5 so I can't wait to see the difference.

Tbf, if my mil did that id go off on one aswell. Gonna tell hubby your story and see how he reacts, if hed stick up for me or not lmao. Honestly if hubby said i was over reacting to that id pack a bag and go stay at my moms, tell him he needs to realise something like this is not on.
Hahaha, ill be giving birth twice in one year it seems crazy. Atm im like no to an epi, cos i want to leave faster but when im in labour im gonna be shouting at them for it hahaha.

Omg, ive just realised... At the end of this month most of us will be in the third tri!!!

Omg stop. I actually have to give birth again soon :/ Lol

You two! JUST STOP ahahah 3rd trimester, birth!! Aaaaaaaa! :D x

god this whole birthing thought is scaring me haha. at the start of this pregnancy I was like "this pregnancy is different and labour will be so different" but now I know I'm carrying a girl and have another anterior placenta I'm starting to worry that everything is similar and labour will be the same and awful again

must get a hypnobirthing book ordered and work on sitting in positions to try and make sure shes not back to back

Ohhh...I read something on another forum thing that had all the women saying 2nd labours are quicker but more painful :/ yes need to get a move on and get my book too! I'm actually pretty nervous this time...

Hi girls, hope you're all doing OK in the snow. Some great pics!

I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and finally have my scan on Monday. Feels like I've been waiting forever. I can't believe trimester 3 isn't that far away for some of you!

So this morning I sneezed and my coccyx cracked! I didn't even know that was possible and now it's so sore when I set down or try to stand up. Isn't pregnancy wonderful? Haha

Those of you who are on your second, are you more nervous about labour this time around or feeling more relaxed, if possible, because you know what you're in for? I'm thinking about burying my head in the sand as much as possible given that this is my first!

I tell myself that this is my second and it will be a much easier Labour so all will be fine but in honesty I also keep thinking it will be the same traumatic Labour again and will be awful

last time I wasn't even that worried/nervous and was really relaxed when I went into Labour. it wasn't until in was in hospital and things started going wrong that i became a terrified mess

I think im the same, just worried about bleeding out again. Otherwise im juat like meh hes gotta come out at one point.

I'm more nervous just because I know exactly what is going to happen. Ignorance is bliss maybe with labour lol. And I'm worried I'll be the same way after birth and get stuck in hospital. But can't be worse than getting to the pushing stage at home with no pain relief and shoved in an ambulance, so there's that haha. I'm trying natal hypnotherapy and fx it helps xx

Sorry been so busy today gliding home from work haha!
They've completely closed the GP surgery now for today and tomorrow. What a nightmare. Us in the south west really don't handle snow well haha!

Woo for a day off Jem!

This heartburn that I've been so smug about not having is now Chuck Norris roundhouse kicking me in the throat!

Get some Gaviscon GG. I can't live without it lol xx

OH sent me this earlier asked me did I want one haha, yep that's a bump hole, what do you reckon ladies lol

aw no GG that's rubbish. I'm not surprised youre suffering though. if you've not got a very big bump yet then I guess the only way for everythingto go iis up!

I've managed to be quite productive today and wash all baby bibs, muslins and blankets and get them all stored away. clothes for babies first year are all washed and in the wardrobe/draws. I've even been tempted to ready baby's hospital bag for something to do haha

Funny you should say that. Not put my jeans on today but lay on the sofa today and noticed that my belly has really popped. I'm now huge lol

I buy cheap tesco gaviscon stuff... Rarely use it. Didnt get it with dd, had it once or twice this time.

Oh my goodness shep. I havent even washed dd bottles yet haha. X

Do you know you can get gaviscon on NHS prescription when pregnant. Massive bottles of it too.

I'll be getting my prescription soon, already going through it like mad. It wasn't on prescription when I was pregnant with dd and I dread to think how much I spent on it :/ Did you take the day off in the end GG? Xx
