PB sorry long post! Well to be honest I lost my shit so badly that she got the point very bluntly.
I honestly said very close to "Let me make this very clear. Just because your son is her dad, does NOT mean you can make any decisions for me. She is MY daughter, I will always come before you. I decide what she can get done, what she can eat and drink (she was giving her coke?! At 11 months Arghhhh!) Stop saying "she's my grandchild so..." That means nothing to me. She's my baby.. I decide who she gets to see and if you can't follow basic rules then I can't trust you to ever have her." I said I wouldn't let my own mum do anything like that either.
I also told her that she was causing serious problems between me and oh because he didn't agree with her, but still felt like he had to defend her. I said that all she would do is split us up and I'd end up going back to Belfast (we wouldn't have but still it was a good threat) When we argued over the earrings everything she used to do came out and I was literally like "oh and another thing" lol. Then I kicked her out and me and oh had the worst fight of our relationship.
I also had to get OH to realise that if she overstepped, it was his mother and he needed to show that we both thought she was out of line. Not just "oh Shan overreacting again, but my son thinks it's okay so" He'd tell me how mad he was about something but never really properly confront her about it. Said he was a grown man and didn't like arguing with his mum. He realised though that he had to start, especially the way she was with me, like it didn't matter I was the mum because the dad was her boy.
I had to really try to build a relationship with her tbh. In the last two year it's been hard work but I did it for Ivy. Anything she did I don't think was malicious, just very fucking stupid . Now I just tell her straight otherwise I'd seeth over it. I know how you feel but I couldn't go through it all again with this baby. But we do have a decent relationship now though, I even let her come with us to a scan this time because she'd never ever been to one, and she cried xx

god this whole birthing thought is scaring me haha. at the start of this pregnancy I was like "this pregnancy is different and labour will be so different" but now I know I'm carrying a girl and have another anterior placenta I'm starting to worry that everything is similar and labour will be the same and awful again
must get a hypnobirthing book ordered and work on sitting in positions to try and make sure shes not back to back
Those of you who are on your second, are you more nervous about labour this time around or feeling more relaxed, if possible, because you know what you're in for? I'm thinking about burying my head in the sand as much as possible given that this is my first!
aw no GG that's rubbish. I'm not surprised youre suffering though. if you've not got a very big bump yet then I guess the only way for everythingto go iis up!
I've managed to be quite productive today and wash all baby bibs, muslins and blankets and get them all stored away. clothes for babies first year are all washed and in the wardrobe/draws. I've even been tempted to ready baby's hospital bag for something to do haha
I buy cheap tesco gaviscon stuff... Rarely use it. Didnt get it with dd, had it once or twice this time.
Oh my goodness shep. I havent even washed dd bottles yet haha. X

Do you know you can get gaviscon on NHS prescription when pregnant. Massive bottles of it too.
