****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

Lol PB who knows my mum is a fucking weirdo xx

KHTW aw I love that stuff. I was gutted I didn't get to see my placenta with Ivy. I want to this time lol xx

GGs unless you've had a stroke in the last five mins I'm assuming you meant isn't his mum hahaha ! Xx

Interesting girls :)

Hahaha, you assumed correctly, lol

I love how different we all are :) I also love how tolerant we all are and non judgey over our differences x

on a similar topic has anyone looked into delayed cord clamping? I didn't know enough about it last time so had the jab and it was put really quick but I think I'd like it delayed this time

Haha. I know I was just thinking that GG. This thread can be pure comedy sometimes but I just love the supportiveness.

If I said I was thinking about giving birth in a pop up tent in my garden playing Enya you'd probably all go. "We'll go for it if that's what you want to do" haha xx

Dd got put on me then taken away fast cos i said i was feeling faint, then for like half an hour to an hour she was just on her own in the box thing cos hubby and my mom was like no. She didnt even cry apparntly. Hoping for skin to skin straight away this time x

What does it do?? x

Yes Shep I think I'd like that. I didn't know about it before either. Though OH had to cut the cord really quick so DD could be taken away with her not starting breathing properly. So she probably wouldn't be able to have had it? I'm looking into it too though xx

From babycentre but basically all the same info. I'm going to mention it at my next appointment and think about putting it on my birth plan xx

"Delayed cord clamping is when your midwife waits a few minutes after your baby is born to cut the umbilical cord. This allows your baby to receive extra oxygenated blood from your placenta, which has important health benefits. Experts recommend that you do delay cord clamping for at least a minute after the birth, if possible.

When compared with babies who have immediate cord clamping, delayed clamping may allow your baby to benefit from:

An increase in blood volume of about 30 per cent.
Higher levels of red blood cells for the first day to two days.
Improved iron levels for up to six months, which boosts physical and mental development."

thanks for posting that shanivy, saves a waffley explanation from me haha.

my DD had to be taken to have her lungs checked to like you I'm not sure I could have had it but I wish I'd known more. I'm also really interested in placenta encapsulation. I was last time but when I went to the Labour class and the midwife asked if anyone wanted more info one lady very quickly went "ergh no definitely not" and I didn't have the confidence to say yes afterwards. going to ask my midwife this time though
