Oooh, well done Mel. We are eyeing the iCandy, too. We were thinking of the strawberry. Let us know how you like it.

Oh lovely, I really want a Peach too!

We're hopefully getting our pram at the end of the month. Can't wait :) I like the I candy but were going for the buffalo as were planning lots of walking holidays and I have two dogs so need good sized wheels x

I went for the silvercross Pioneer in the end was so hard to decide and it was harder to make a decision on colour since we won't be finding out if we are having a boy or girl but went for the blue.

Yeah i need a dog walk friendly type as well Elfs mummy. There are off road ones which look amazing lol

We've decided on the silvercross surf 2 just can't decide between black or beige xx

Welcome to all the newbies and congratualations to unicorn and mariaisabella! Love the name Sophia, btw!

All's well here. Bump is coming along nicely. Still have to wait a week on Friday for my next scan as my gyno is on holiday. So frustrating! Can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl! Everyone thinks girl so far.
We're just reusing Ella's pram, so won't be getting a new one, but we need a moses basket type thing, a baby jail and a sling as I borrowed all those things last time and the people I've borrowed them from have sold them!

my 16wk m/w appointment is on Tuesday too! at 2:30 :-)

hey Mkat!

Good luck to all the ladies with their 16 week appointment today. Mines at 12:30 and as a first time mummy I look forward to these appointments and find them quite exciting xx

Us too, Sesame. This will be our first baby, so everything is new and exciting. But also daunting! I went into a baby shop with the intention of buying some little things on Saturday. But couldn't make any decisions and walked out empty handed after an hour! I'm sure we'll get there in time, but at the moment it all seems a bit overwhelming and foreign, no matter how many pregnancy and baby books I read. Exciting new challenge...

My appointment went well. Listened to babies heartbeat and midwife said she said she thought it sounded like a girl..... exciting as we already have a boy! Can't wait to find out ! Good luck to everyone else xx

my appointment went well also; went through my blood tests, updated my folder, tested my urine, took blood pressure and listened to baby's heart beat. :-) i am falling in love with the baby with each appointment.

only problem is the pressure they put on you to have a home or birthing centre birth! it's crazy! as it's my 3rd they keep saying that i am a pro and dont need to go to the hospital; i kept telling her "no" but she kept asking and she said that she will keep asking and that i have to go home an dthink about the home birth. argghh!

Hello ladies

Lovely to hear about the 16 week scans.

Purple I a had a completely different experience with my last baby. I really wanted a home birth and they pushed me not to have one. Luckily I didn't because it ended with a c section xxx although I did agree to have a birth centre they are lovely x labour wards and other wards put you and baby at risk of infection, or that's my understanding of the requests for the birth centre x

Lovely to hear about all your 16 week appointments ladies and so glad to hear you are on the mend CharlieBump3, I was worried having not heard from you for a while, has the spotting stopped now?
We bought our travel system about a month ago and pick it up at the end of the month, which is very exciting :-) We went with the Mamas and Papas armidillo flip xt in teal.
My sickness is finally easing, although I stupidly risked a milkshake today and didn't come off very well!
The headaches have been murder though, like migraines, although I don't think that has been helped by travelling the country to work this weekend, I can't wait to be able to slow down!
Bump is coming along, which is fun :-)
Our next consultant appointment is on Monday and our genetics consultant on Tuesday and then we have our 20 week the Thursday after :-) I haven't heard anything from the midwife, so don't know when we'll be seeing her next? xx

16 week appointment went well was fab listening to heartbeat <3.... I asked about the terrible headaches and was told these should go about 18 weeks ... Fingers crossed!!

So good to hear everyone else's appointments went well.

Exciting news about the pram purchases!

That's exactly what I worry about CharlieBump, potential complications. But I feel like I am being bullied into a home birth, she didn't even mention birthing centre. Luckily I dont go back until I am 28weeks (she says that when I am 25weeks I can go for a check up with my gp if I like)

My appt was rescheduled because we were 10 minutes late. :(

Lovely to read about all your 16 weeks appointments :)

I had my consultant appointment today and have been told I will need scans at 28 and 34 weeks so get some extra sneaky peeks at baby. I have got my anomaly scan tomorrow or today as its early hours ha ha the joys of a toddler :)

Not finding out the sex I don't think!

Finally bought my double buggy at a bargain price 2nd hand and it's immaculate, I have a problem though where to store it as its bad luck to bring it in the house isn't it :(

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Stick to your instincts, Purple. I've also noticed the NHS are discouraging hospital births, to make us "more comfortable". I think this is just another way the NHS is trying desperately to save money and hospital beds, under the pressure of Conservative budget cuts. Junior doctors are about to strike again, I notice. But you pay your taxes (I'm guessing!), so you deserve that hospital birth if you want it.

I'll probably do the in-hospital-midwife-led-birthing-centre thing myself, but you should do whatever you prefer. In Canada and the USA, almost everyone has a hospital birth, and to my knowledge there are no more infections than there are here.

I also agree this promoting home births is a way of saving beds for the NHS! If you don't feel comfortable, then don't let yourself be pressured into it.

I am going for a hospital birth. I would have a birthing centre birth if I could absolutely guarantee that my baby would be 100% healthy and in no need of medical assistence. I don't think I'd like a home birth as I live on a new estate and would probably have some windows open as it'll be hot in July and would hate to think of my neighbours hearing anything lol!
