***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Sorry haven't posted much in here since Caleb appeared on the scene but I've been checking in daily to see how the remaining mums to be are getting on. Fx there's not much longer for you all to wait!
We are getting on okay, feeding was going really well until my milk came in and then unfortunately I've developed mastitis over last couple of days. Been put on antibios and told I can't breastfeed and can only pump for 15mins every 3 hours so we're having to top up with formula from today which has made me pretty upset but hopefully it's only for a few days until my nips have healed. Luckily I have just the best midwife ever I couldn't have survived without her she's been like my surrogate mummy.

My drama aside Caleb is just brilliant and much better at nights only waking twice usually so starting to feel less frazzled than the first few days!! x

Taboo- sorry you are having a tough time with mastitis, it can be nasty. Is there a particular reason you have been told not to breastfeed? I always understood that it is even more important to feed frequently through mastits because it drains the breast better than pumping?

Bunny you're right, it's only because of how damaged my nipples are - they are blistered and cut up too much that they've said it's more important for them to heal and try and deal with mastitis with antibios and hand massage for now.

Also when we did try and breastfeed yesterday Caleb would try and draw down and then nothing was coming so he'd get frustrated and it was quite a distressing pattern for me so they just decided it was better for me and him in the short term.

Ah, that makes sense. Hope your nipples heal soon! It sounds really painful. Sounds like you are doing great and getting good support though.

My due date!!! Please, please, please, baby come soon!
Just had pineapple smoothie and will sit bouncing on my ball most of the day, and go for a long walk later.

Princesp and Candy, no more news from you I guess?

Happy due date!!

No nothing from me. Nothing since the sweep this morning but was never getting my hopes up. I've also had a pineapple smoothie as well as more evening primrose and a bit of ball bouncing in between naps! Ideally I would've stayed up and about after the sweep but after such an awful night I couldn't do anything but sleep. Hoping tomorrow I'll be able to do a bit more upright!

I think I had some Braxton hicks but I've never really ever been 100% if they are bh or just baby pushing.

Hope you get something moving before you see your doc again sorpresa! x

No news from me. I was down the hospital last night as I wasn't sure whether my waters started leaking but it turns out I have been having a lot of mucous. Nothing else to report. Looks ever more likely that it'll be induction on weekend.

Another bad night sleep for me last night and to top it off I now have a bad cold. X

We are totally in the wars princess! Although Its comforting to know I'm not alone..!

Not looking forward to potential induction either (Tuesday). Let's try and be positive though that at the end of it we'll actually have the babies. Trying desperately to keep my eyes on the prize here!!

Today I'm trying to stay a bit more mobile in the hope it helps. Going to do some ironing while sitting on ball though!

Yes you're right about the positive thinking. Being down the hospital yestersay gave me the chance to see other mother's with their newborns. Can't believe that will be me in a few days times, whether I'm induced or not.

I had a rotten cold for a few days before I went into labour with my first LO. Actually sneezed in bed and broke my waters! Xx

Hi ladies, how are we all? Congrats to all the new arrivals! I can't believe some of your babies are still leaving you hanging on!! Come on wee ones, your mummies want to meet you now!! :D

Sorry I've been quiet again since Heather's arrival 2 weeks ago  Can't believe my little monster muncher is 2 weeks old today, time flies by! She's doing very well now after a shaky start with the breastfeeding. Basically a lack of support when we were in the hospital delayed my milk coming in for several days meaning Heather was wasting a lot of energy at the boobs but getting nothing, so she lost a lot of weight in a couple of days  They left me feeding constantly for 7 hours (no 10, or even 5 minute breaks) saying it was normal  I went to the midwives desk 4 times in that period asking for support or advice but kept getting told it's normal and no assistance given. I got myself out of there as quick as I could. Since then we've had to top up with expressed milk and formula as well as use a dummy- I spent days breaking my heart over it but it had to be done. We're now breastfeeding with express top ups, hoping it continues to improve, and becomes less painful too!

I thought we got to the end of this growth spurt but we're back to 2 hourly feeding today so I guess we just had a wee day off yesterday lol! x

Morning all, nice to hear from the new mummies who are enjoying new adventures with their little ones. It helps me focus on the not-too-distant future, when I'll hopefully have my little one with us too. Can't wait.

Last night, after a long walk, I thought I felt first labour contractions in bed. They were like Braxton, but with some mild pain around the pelvis area, and coming every 20 minutes or so. Eventually, I fell asleep within an hour hoping I would wake up later in the night ready to go to hospital.... Nothing :-/

Still waiting, but I guess I'm only one day overdue.
Candy and princessp - nothing for you either? We're the last ones waiting.... yawn!

Nothing at all from me. 1 days overdue. Being induced tomorrow evening if nothing happens. Really not feeling anything x

Ditto at 41+1 :(

Got my hopes up last night again with an upset tum and period aches and nothing really (just same period aches). I'm sure these are good signs but nothing is happening quick enough. No sleep again last night either so on sofa waiting to fall asleep!

Going to try and make the most of the last few days of tv marathons and being lazy before Tuesday. Although I was doing washing and ironing at 6am this morning!

It'll be us soon sorpresa and princess, found this today which made me feel a bit better -

So I went to see my obstetrician for a check today. Things have progressed, head is very low down and dilated 2 cm. I had a lot of plug come out this morning and feel crampy although nothing regular. Doctor did a second sweep today and we are crossing our fingers that something will happen over the weekend.

Otherwise, in to hospital for induction at 6 am Tuesday. Yikes.

Come on girls, this is the weekend when we meet our babies!

That blog is so right candy! I feel better too.

Yes the blog was good to ready candy.

Sorpresta it really does sound like things are progressing for you.
I really don't think.amything will happen for.me until km induced.tomorrow x

Sorpresa if you do get induced (which I agree I think you'll escape!) then we'll have them on same day (or get started rather)!

Princess just think, this time hopefully sunday/Monday you'll have your little bub, by whatever means necessary!

I've been asleep and have got lower back ache and crampy feelings which will probably disappear now I'm up and about. Focussing on Tuesday and trying to ignore the texts and missed calls on my phone - NO OBVIOUSLY I HAVEN'T HAD THE BABY!!!

Plus at least it will all be done for us all around the same time so fx none of us will be hanging around alone in here too long x
