Ah that's good meg. They finally did scan!
well I've had my 3rd sweep..had some milk cramping after it but now nothing. Been sleeping for last 2 hours mind. They say to keep.actuve but im jist so tired!

Oh princess hopefully something was occurring while you were sleeping! Is anyone home to take you out for a little walk? I am with you on the being tired though so can empathise. Just had a wake up shower so going to mop some floors and hopefully have a ten min walk when OH gets home x

I'm here alone but I think I'm going to go out for a walk. Put my music on and enjoy some thinking time. Still in my pj's though, so means getting dressed! X

Just throw some boots on, and a long coat and go in your PJs xx

Come on babies cone our and meet your lovely mummies xx

Oisin had his 2 week check today and is up to 7lb 15 the little chunk!! I'm over the moon with him xx[/QUOT

2 weeks already! That has flown (probably more so for you!) x

Its going way too fast xx

Really hope things start moving for all you lovely ladies over the next few days xx so glad your scan went well meg xxx

Just thought I would check in and say hi & can't wait to hear about the next arrival!

Rafferty is doing really well-currently feeding time! I'm loving being a Mummy although I am finding it really hard to rest and not over do it after my c-section. I am paying for it tonight and haven't been able to get comfortable and get sleep while he is sleeping.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

Eek, I think contractions have started! I've woken up a few times now with quite intense period pains so I've just started timing. More plug loss overnight after dtd again. Fingers crossed this is it! (OH still snoring!)

Yaay Meg, fingers crossed this is it for you, keep us posted!

I'm just back from seeing my OBS - so confused! :-(
Haven't even reached my due date, which is tomorrow. But, despite the fact that I've had a pregnancy without a single complication, he now considers me "high risk" as I'm 40 years old.

So he really wants to induce, and my OH and I are not so keen on the idea, but rather wait a few more days. I know in the UK they typically would wait at least to 41w before induction, but Singaporean doctors are a bit more conservative and he's quoting some vague research that says that 40yo+ women are at higher risk (like 0.1% more!) of having a still birth if going over 40w term....

He checked my cervix and it's only 1.5 cm and quite high / hard.... Whilst checking he did try to separate the membranes (I suppose his version of a "sweep") and now I'm in discomfort, but truly, truly, truly hoping that this baby decides to come naturally soon, because I truly do not want an induction :oooo:

So basically I've asked to wait a couple more days, we go back on Friday afternoon for another check and then see which way to go....

What would you girls advice?:shock:

I'd do exactly as you're planning sorpresa and give it a few more days and see what the situation is on Friday? I'm not familiar with the research though but it sounds very over cautious, I'd probably do the same as you.

Oh megs fx for you! Sounds like we could finally have another baby today or tomorrow!

Glad you're getting on well katy, you're v naughty for not taking it as easy as rafferty allows thoigh to recover from the section!

Meanwhile I am completely miserable. Generally not sleeping at night then managed 5 hour chunks the last 2 nights so thought insomnia was over.. It's 7 am now and I've not slept AT ALL. have been at my wits end in the night to the point of crying for about half an hour from total exhaustion, frustration and anxiety which is completely counterproductive when trying to sleep! All this was downstairs so as not to wake DH so felt like a right sadsack on my own! Also have what I think is carpal tunnel in my wrist which started aching yesterday so that's not helped. Up in 1 hr to get ready for MW and sweep :(

Sorry moan over!! x

Good luck Megs...hope it's finally the start for you.

Sorpressa Id do the same and wait until Friday. I've not heard about the increased risks either to be honest.

Candy I feel for you. Sleep was tough for me in the last few days due to general uncomfyness, needing a wee every 30 mins and how hard it was to turn over which I needed to do frequently as everything was so uncomfy. Weirdly, the best night's sleep I ended up getting was the night I went into labour...slept from 10am until 4.30am when I woke with a contraction.

Eeeekkkk. Good luck Meg. Fingers crossed you are having baby cuddles soon.

Candy get yourself straight home after your appointment and get on the sofa for the day. With a bit of ball bouncing inbetween resting?

Sopresa I would wait.... I would put off induction as long as possible personally. Although I have no issue with it per se but not for a healthy pregnancy at 40w.

When was Princess last on? Wonder of anything has happened for her?

My little Bee is a week old already. Still can't believe she is here lol.
She is an angel in the daytime (demon at night though)

X

Thanks ladies. Nat am deffo getting back into bed when I get home. I'm so tired I hope I don't even notice the sweep!!

Can't believe Beatrice is a week old already, taboos little Caleb as well! Bet the week has gone quick for you. How are you getting on?

Not sure about princess, maybe yesterday? Although I'm a bit delirious so have no concept of time at mo! Fx something is happening for her x

Oh good luck meg. I had pains after sweep and dtd but it amounted to nothing after 6 hours of regular pains. So frustrating!

Oh candy it's awful when u cant sleep. I was up for much of the night with terrible heartburn. Haven't had it much at all during pregnancy bit it was so.bad last night, it made me vomit! What time is your sweep candy?

I went for a walk yesterday bit after 5mins I had the most horrendous stitch like pain in my right hand side. Stopped walking for about an hour and tried again but stitch came straight back. Couldn't even take one step then.

Nothing at all happening for me. 9 days overdue now. Really think it's going to come to an induction on the weekend.

At least you had a little walk which is better than nothing at all. I feel your pain with the heartburn! Have you got anything for it?

Had the sweep, it wasn't as bad as I thought but could've done without her talking me through exactly what she was doing!!

She said my cervix was favourable so that's good at least.

Will you have another sweep now princess or do you think it's straight to induction? I am booked in for a final go on Saturday. It'll be our turn soon!! xx

No more sweeps for me. Have had 3, so next step is induction..yes Apparantly my cervix is favourable but yesterday's sweep literally did nothing.

My main problem at the moment is boredom. The days are long and the nights are even longer as I'm not sleeping. All washing and cleaning done.

Meg- I hope things are going well for you!

I live in Portugal. They are a bit induction happy here too, some doctors more than others. I felt a lot of pressure for induction for my last pregnancy but I wasnt happy with their reasons. I refused early induction and again at 41 weeks and went into labour naturally at 40+10. This time I changed carers and was happier with the support I got. They were happy to wait until 42 weeks before inducing. Personally I wouldnt be induced for a healthy pregnancy at 40 weeks because of some vague slight risk factor. Induction is important in some situations but it holds risks too so they would have to give me a reason I felt really justified it. Hate to be synical but often times doctors recieve more money the more interventions are used so it can make them a bit more eager to offer interventions. Is this your first? On adverage first babies are born at 40+5 so inducing you on your due date isnt giving you much of a chance to go naturally. On Friday if you are still not keen on induction maybe ask for tests to monitor your baby instead. They can monitor the heart beat to look for signs of distress and do a scan to check the health of the placenta and blood flow to the baby. Of course they are not 100% but can give an indication if there are any problems.

Thanks Bunny, very interesting to hear how the have such differing policies in different countries. OH and I did some research tonight, and decided that, depending on Friday's examination, we will decide, but likely to refuse induction until at least Monday. That will give my body a bit more of a chance to start naturally.

There is already some evidence of my placenta deteriorating, but nothing to be seriously concerned yet, apparently.

I just find this sense of uncertainty, and pressure to deliver, very stressful. Oh well, let's hope for a positive outcome.
