Chart Stalkers February 2008

 Loola, I'll be testing Sunday in the testathon if I can hold out or AF not got me by then.....

Ooh best of luck hun! Id never be able to hold off testing til Sunday! You have the strongest willpower ever!

fingers crossed temps stay up and AF stay away gypsy

Just coming to the end of my AF, so starting temping this morning. Going to get back into it again after the initial disappointment. Busy week next week

Hello Ladies

Well I have pharangytis and am home sick for a few days (it's very hard to teach without a voice  ) and so I'm getting some staling in.

Kitty - hope the temps stay up. You are certainly sticking to your no fuss approach this cycle. I tip my hat to you me lady. :)

Trudy - sorry that you've started spotting but AF might not rear her ugly head. FXed for you.

CB23 - welcome back  Well by the looks of all your BDing it certainly looks like your valentines weekend went well  Don't stop now though. That egg might be making its way down as I type.

Chill - good luck for this cycle. Lucky you, you don't have to wait long to Ov.

Gypsy - how's that ankle? What's happening with your cycle? AF here or not? I can't remember what you have said. Sorry  FXed it's not and you'll get a BFP

Loola - it's all looking good. A nice rise post Ov, good BDIng chances and lots of EWCM. FXed that Cheri was right for you.

Kmac - a nice classic ovulatory chart this month. FXed those temps stay up.

KayKav - looking good! Despite the Agnus Castus Ov wasn't too much later than your other charts, and you have a nice rise. Here's to hoping it keeps rising.

Choklatemunky - your AF doesn't look too worrisome form FF info. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. FXed you get a good strong egg this month.

Satch - Hi again and good luck for this month

Welshpolly - when do you expect to ovulate? Are you sing OPKS?

Skairdykat - Should Ov soon. FXed for you this month. I hope you enjoy charting with the stalkers!

Hara - good luck and I hope the temp goes up for you.

Hi to Charmed and Sally12

Thanks Sookie  I really hope we have done enough. I know my temps have risen and all is pointing towards ovulation, but just now Ive had the most mahoosive amount of EWCM (sorry tmi  ) and it was definitely not male fluid. It stretched to about 5 inches! Im now worried that I hadnt actually ovulated yet  Im probably being daft as usual. I had a little bit of EWCM yesterday but not much at all, I thought it was the left over from Monday. Now Im all confused. I did invite my OH for some BDing just in case but its bloody Champions League football tonight! :wall:

Hope you get better soon Sookie

 sookie,
Ankles not too bad thank you.
AF not here, was supposed to be yesterday/today.
If not here by sunday I'll be testing sunday in the testathon....

Alright - I have to update you on my cycle.

So this month I have been taking some herbs. Dong Quai and a Whole Body Tonic consisting of sarsaparilla, ginseng, gotu kola, licorice root, alfalfa, saw palmetto and cayenne. In combination they are supposed to have a normalising effect on the reproductive organs and help to regulate menses.

I have also been taking Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin B6, vitamin E, folic acid and a regular multi-vitamin.

Well yesterday I had good ferning on the microscope and a very very faint line on an OPK (nothing prior to this). Today I had full ferning and a faint OPK. It's almost positive.

Today I have also had some Ov pain. I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer: I am so happy. This is CD18. It means I could Ov on or before CD20. If that happens it will make this the shortest cycle of my life. I am just  ing that it's not another case of split peaks (body gearing up to Ov but then not doing it). I figure that since the microscope and OPKs appear to be roughly in synch that it might be for real.

Along with DH's news about the sperm analysis, I am feeling like we might just have a 'normal' couple's chance at conceiving for the fist time yet.

Loola - tell him to get his priorities straight. Could you sabotage the TV somehow? Get a quickie in beforehand???

Gypsy - good luck in the testathon

BTW, I just worked out that if I do Ov in the next few days, then I could test on our wedding anniversary (7 March), and Cheri22 also said March was my month... Despite not thinking there's anything to it, I really want her to be right! (except about my daughter being a cosmetologist. I want Kitty to be right on that account and for her to really be a cosmologist :rotfl: )

Sookie that is absolutely brilliant news! I am praying that you ovulate soon  Im also praying that Cheri is right for you, and Kitty of course  . Even though we kind of think its all bollocks, at the same time her words, albeit badly spelt and grammartised, will always stick in our heads as 'the month we are waiting for'. Hence why I am even more scatty this month. I am turning into my mother. Its terrifying.

Id have a go at my OH for not putting the effort in today, but in all fairness to him, he has given me more fluids this month than he has in our entire relationship previously! Also, I know full well that Man Utd is the most important thing in his life and probably always will be. He really wants a boy so that he can buy baby Man Utd kits  He's really been looking forward to tonight, hes going down the pub with his mates in a minute so I cant really be disappointed. Im probably being mental anyway, I always find a reason to stress about things!

Alright then Loola. Seems fair enough. I'm just hoping that the EWCM was yet another example of the bizarro ttc misinformation that our bodies like to throw at us to keep us on our toes.

I hope so too. Im kinda hoping its leftovers that have fallen out with one big dollop.  I must keep thinking positively and hope that my previous days of BDing will still be enough even if I havent finished ovulation yet. Saying that Ive just read an article from a Dr saying that EWCM can hang around for a day or so after ovulation, so I could be worrying over nothing. I think my problem is that no amount of BDing is enough.

Mmmm Paolo Maldini is on TV. Yum.

I have a question for people who have been charting for a while - I usually take my temp at 7.30am. What would you do though if for example you woke up alot earlier but then went back to sleep. E.g. say I woke up at 5am after having more than 3 hours of sleep, should I take my temp and use that reading or if I went back to sleep pretty much straight away, after having a drink/getting comfortable etc, without leaving the bed, then woke again at my usual time, should I use the temp I take at that time even though i woul have had less than 3 hours of sleep since 5am? Do you know which temp is more likely to be accurate? or would you put both temps in the temp corrector?

I have done this before, and have noticed that my early temps are alot lower than my usual 7.30am temps. I have used my 7.30am temps til now. :?

Loola - I would be wary of using a temp without 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep beforehand. I would probably use the temperature corrector. I find that if I haven't had the right amount of sleep the temperature is a lot lower.

BTW, thanks Claire :cheer:

I would imagine that as long as you're consistent with your method of testing then it should be ok because what you're looking for is temperatures relative to another not to "actual" temperatures.

Im wondering whether waking just to have a gulp of a drink but never really being wide awake affects the temps that much? Or if my temp at 5am would be alot lower than a 7.30am temp even if I hadnt woken up.
Its a hard one to call. I think If I was ever wide awake, and got out of bed Id use the early temp, but as it stands, without leaving the bed, and not being wide awake, sat up etc, I will go with the normal temp time.

I guess it depends on your brain activity at those times too and how quickly you fall back to sleep. Hmmm.

Thanks for your opinions ladies! :D

woohoo Sookie! Go girl! What are you hanging round here for? You should be BDing!
Hope you feel better soon...

Gypsy, FX for you...

Sally12, I added your chart to the front page too. I think there was someone else, but I can't find who it was. Whoever it was, PM me if you want to be added.

It's too late to stalk properly, sorry! :D

Loola - my alarm is set for 6am, but I often wake between 3 and 6. From trial and error, this is what works for me: if I wake before 4am, I don't temp. If I wake between 4 and 5, I temp 'just in case', but if I go back to sleep before 5, I use the actual 6am temp (i.e., I've worked out I need a full hour's sleep to have a reliable temp - in almost all instances, my adjusted early temp is spot on the 6am temp). If for whatever reason I don't get back to sleep, I use the temp adjuster on the early temp. After 5, it gets trickier - if it's between 5 and 5:30, I use the temp adjuster, but note the actual temp in the notes section. If between 5:30 and 6:00, I use the actual temp - it's not very different.

I mark the temp as 'sleep-deprived' if I have had less than a solid hour's sleep, or if I have woken more than once between 1am and temping. I find waking once at 3:30 won't make any difference to my 6am temp, but waking at 1:30 and then again at 3:00 will lower my temp slightly, even though I'd have had 3 hours' solid sleep. I used to get really hung up on it, and then lie awake worrying, but now that I have my 'system', I can get back to sleep instantly after temping. The important thing to remember is that your chart won't determine whether or not you get pregnant. If your chart's inaccurate, you just have less knowledge - it won't prevent conception!

HTH! (you could always do as I did, and experiment by setting your alarm for 5am and 8:30am on a Saturday one weekend... )

I've just posted this on the testathon thread, so sorry for the cross-post, but:

I went into Boots today and noticed that if you buy any FRER product, you get a single FRER HPT free. The singles are c.£8, the doubles are c.£10. So if you buy a double pack, you actually get 3 FRERs for a tenner...
