Arghhh it's today it's today and surprisingly I've had the best sleep I've had in a while. Think it was cos I cried with nerves nd had cuddles and fell asleep that way. Arghh nerves. Hope I get called in early not liking the any time between 9-12. Oh well ready when they call me arghhhhh I'm having a baby xxx

Lilmiss- just thinking to myself that since you don't know exactly when they are going to call....it really is like sitting around waiting your waters to break or something, to signal labour. Lol it's planned, but yet still a surprise

Lol that's a good way of thinking about it. I'm having tummy pains and back ache now. Would be funny to get there and be in labour already. That's what happened with my daughter xxx

Ladies I have a quick question.

Is anyone else getting like a very dull low pain in their abdomen. Almost on pubic bone. It feels like deep tissue pain though not bones. I can't explain it properly. It is almost like the day before AF pain. I keep expecting to see blood. I have niggling back pain too.

Last time I was the midwife (5th) my baby was 3/5 engaged. Could have moved down more or should I be checking for a pattern in pains or trying to time it?

Laying in a warm bath did nothing to ease it.

Could moving down more. I'm 2\5 engaged and the strangest feeling sometimes lol. Try timing things - if they aren't steady or are far apart, then no worries. If they are regular and close then give someone ring

They aren't really going away! Just a constant low ache so I think he is moving down some more. I will ask them to check tomorrow if they don't do it anyway. I think I might ask her to check if my cervix is changing at all. Would that be worth it? I feel bruised almost. Not sure if it is just the fact that he is engaging.

It is so confusing isn't it! I literally have no idea what to expect and no matter how much I read or ask people, it doesn't help me. Lol.

Sax- sounds like the kind of period pain I've had- its been constant nearly all day before! Never been timeable or anything! Def felt like pre aunt flo type pain to me! I've had it on and off for weeks now.......doesn't seem like its done much with my cervix- but might have done for u?? Worth asking about xxx

Thanks mum2b. It's been all day today and on and off for a few days my bump seems to have moved down. Just tried to put my maternity jeans on and they are sooo uncomfortable. They still fit 2 days ago. I have been peeing loads too so I think moving down is most likely. Still, only got 3 weeks max left. Due 2 weeks tomorrow!! Can't wait until he is here now. In so much pain with preexisting problems and no medication it seems to be eclipsing the whole pre birth experience.

Soooo annoying, constantly in pain with strong period type cramps but they lead to nothing! Come on baby!

Just got in from dinner around MIL's and she is convinced he will be here by the weekend. I do feel very odd I must say. Very low down pain and pain in my back keeps coming and going but not in any real pattern. I am going to lay in bed and see if I can time it.

I had a curry last night and DH has offered to DTD. I really can't face it but I might try it tonight if I feel I can.

I never wanted to be one of those women that will do anything to get their baby out early but I am so huge now (I am only 5 foot tall so being almost 5 foot round is horrible, and also quite funny) I would love him to be here sooner rather than later.

Hope we all have a comfortable night. Looks like another baby or 2 might be here in the next few days! Scary to think this time last year I was trying to talk DH in to thinking about trying for a baby. Then 4 months later I was expecting. I would like to say it was my gentle persuasion that convinced him to want a baby but it wasn't. I spoke to the guys he works with and they all said it was the best thing they ever did. Then he decides he wants one, but now.... Not the end of 2014 like I was suggesting.... Men. I will never understand him. Lol.

Oooh really hoping it's kicking off for some of you ladies and we'll have some more August babies soon!

Sax - don't feel bad that you want him out sooner rather than later! None of us want to be like that but we all are in the last couple of weeks... It's because we're so achey, tired, and so excited to meet our LOs that all this rubbish bit is more annoying because it's getting in the way!

I just spent the day with my friend and her two kiddies today. Her daughter is a day younger than Caleb, they shared their first birthday party, and her little boy is so cute. Made me realise how quickly they all grow up, her son is 14 months now and I still remember being born. I'm determined to enjoy this LO as much as possible because before I know it he'll be an almost three year old cutie like his big brother!
