*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Hello everyone, just checking in, cannot believe my little Ísla is 3 weeks old already :-/ my breasts are are still a mess, she has a tongue tie and we're getting it sorted a week today. I cannot believe it takes so long to have it snipped, meanwhile I am in real agony with each feed! Apart from that everything is going very smoothly, she is really chilled out, content little bundle who loves to cuddle up :) I am loving the experience, I feel so much more confident 3rd time around , it has been amazing :) hope everyone is doing ok xxxx

Hi everyone! Not been on here a while. Having mega stress with the little girl - green poo's, sleeping all day AND night (you'd think I'd be happy but I'm worried) and she hasn't gained any weight since she lost 4% weight on day 3 - she's now 11 days old. Arrrrgh. You never stop worrying! She was so hard to wake earlier & so floppy, I was seriously considering taking her to the hospital!

Harspray - congratulations :) sorry you had a rough time & had to have a blood transfusion. I had to first time round, take it easy, you need all the energy you can get so take offers of help so you can sleep!

Mummy midwife - that's crazy they wait so long to snip her tongue! Are you just meant to be in pain for the rest of the time until you get it done? Is she getting much milk? Xx

Aww mummy midwife I understand the pain from feeding with a tongue tie. Harry didn't have his cut til he was 6 weeks old, even though they told me he had one minutes after he was born. I don't know how I got through it really. But at least you have a date set and that is something to focus on.

Coco sorry your having a rough time with your little girl, are the midwives or hv helping you out at all? xx

Hi all,
Kaffee can't believe you have to wait so long to get the tongue tie sorted. I'm so lucky, I had molly at stepping Hill hospital in Stockport, they are by chance the only unit in the North West that treat tongue ties as inpatients and by chance the one midwife who snips them was on duty the day we picked it up. It's ridiculous that more midwifes don't get trained up but I guess it's all down to funding. Well done for continuing, I may well have given up if that tie was still there as attachment was so hard.

Coco I hope things are getting better I know exactly how you feel. I had to do lots of nappies and feed molly 2 hrly also I express and give that milk to her by bottle when I can to ensure she gets milk.

Hi all! Sorry I'm not keeping up at the mo! V little sleep in the last 2 nights and got my boob monster keeping me v busy! Hopefully will catch up properly soon and do birth story etc!

Hang on in there all who r still waiting- thinking of u xxx

Thanks girls, it is horrible pain and yes I am just supposed to be in pain for a whole month til Friday to get tongue tie sorted. In fact not the midwife or paeds picked up on her tongue tie, was only when I got home and did my own check that I noticed the tongue tie, apparently there is only 1 consultant in the whole of Edinbirgh that does it so hence the delay. My 1st also had a tongue tie but his was snipped at day 10.

Now to top it all up I have thrush on my nipples which is agony, hate it it , very sad indeed :( been unbearable to feed so been expressing all night and day and giving expressed breast milk in a bottle to Ísla !

Kanga, hopefully being there before you will pick it up if this baby boy has one too, hopefully he won't ;)

Coco, that sounds really worrying :( hope baby is better and more alert?

Hope everyone is doing better than me today x

Well today has been better. I finally got DH to get in the loft & get the breast pump. I've been expressing & topping up her feeds in a cup the MW gave me. Would be so much easier in a bottle but really don't want anything to affect her already sloppy latch. She's just so lazy! Lots of yellow nappies today, never been so happy to see yellow poo!!! Fingers crossed she has gained weight then we can all stop worrying at home. She seems so much more alert & less tired today after the top ups. Just hope she feeds more cos I'm so bored of sterilising the cup/pump etc all the time! Xx

Mummy_midwife I feel your pain, Tabitha's tongue tie wasn't picked up in her entire 3 week stay in special care despite it being glaringly obvious to dh and I when we got home. We had to wait for an appointment at Yorkhill but thankfully we only had to wait 2 weeks, by which time she was 6 weeks old.

Feeding much better and my nipple trauma/blocked ducts/mastitis is all improved now.

Hope you get sorted soon xx

So Im officially overdue now. Booooo!
I spent the day yesterday pacing the house and bouncing away on the ball, theres just no signs whatsoever - he clearly is a lazy devil with no plan to move out anytime soon!!
I think Ive made it worse for myself as I was convinced I wouldn't even get to my due date!! Hopefully won't have to wait too long!!!

Hi all. Happy -- tme to send an eviction notice lol. If you figure out he let me know - I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and well and truely done! I know I need my lo out ASAP hahaha.

Today was Dh's bday, so we had family over. It was a great (needed an excuse for choclate cake lol). Been in a better mood today, but extremely tired. A bit headachey and had to take off my rings due to swollen hands  Will be keeping an extra eye on my BP as it was 136/90 this morning. I see the mw Tuesday, but if it is higher tomorrow I'll be giving her a early ring.

Sounds like we're all feeling fed up!! I'm not even 39 weeks yet and I've really had enough... I'm back home from my mum's and had an awful drive up yesterday... It's usually 4 and a bit hours but it took me over 5 and a half, I was dead after but had to take my son to a birthday party, I was in bed by 9!

OH is going to be home on Tuesday so a day earlier. I'm just washing the last few blankets and muslins and clothing bits then I can safely say I'm ready for this little man to come on Friday. It can't come soon enough!

I'm in bed in absolute agony with my back and pelvis, I've hardly been able to move the last few days, it's just totally seized up and given up the fight now, worse than before I had caleb. Roll on my spinal block on Friday!

Seeing the MW tomorrow at 9 for my last appointment ever, thank god for that!

Well things could me moving in the Sax household!

DTD on Saturday. Walked loads yesterday and bumpy car ride. Needed to sleep in the day yesterday which I never do. Been peeing all morning and tummy a bit loose. Also felt like I was getting a cold last night. Snotty nose and a bit stuffy in the head? Hormones?

Been to loo about an hour ago and found what appears to be mucus plug? Or part of it at least. No blood though.

Now I have BH going on and feel loads of pressure in my bum?!

Could this be it? Should I be timing these things?

More plug lost and dragging sensation down side and cramps which feel periody.

Agghh!!

Ahhhh got my fingers crossed that this is the start for you sax!!

Just text husband to say might be the start but not to panic. I just don't want him to be sent off site. They have a good habit of asking him to drive 300 miles to do jobs without any warning. I could do with him being in the area at least lol!

oooh sax - that sounds really promising. Hope your OH gets back in touch soon, you don't need to be stressing over that. Keep us posted. Good luck chuck.

Hope babies start appearing for overdue ladies soon too, we need more babies to arrive.

Mummymidwife - that's pants on the tongue tie treatment, I'm in admiration of you keeping going through the pain though.

Coco = glad your little one is better today, amazing how fascinated by poop you can get isn't it.

I'm waiting for his nibs to wake up so I can feed him and then we can head out to get some chores done - not least registering him at doctors!

He text me back lol. He is usually a completely tactless fool but this time he surprised me. He sent me a lovely message back.
Now have;
Really bad lower back pain which seems to come in waves
Tight BH feelings every now and again. About 25-30 mins apart
Need to pee all the time and loose tummy
Feel a bit shakey? Like shivering but not actually cold?
Not very hungry which is not like me!

We will see what happens. Going to do some jobs around the house if my back will let me. Then a nice bath I think.
