How's everyone doing tonight?

After Dh's gp appointment, we came home and I fell asleep for the rest of the afternoon. It was nice to have a nap like that (dh kept asking what we had planned for the day, despite my saying NOTHING lol. He got the idea when put my feet up though). I've had a few contractions and cramps today. They eased up from last night, but now that dinner is over the cramping seems to be coming back. It's strange because the cramping isn't necessarily at the same time as my bump getting hard (like with bh). Not really sure what to think. If it's going on in the morning, dh is going to cancel his afternoon appt, to spare me the driving. Like everyone else (I'm sure), I think it would be nice to know what ours dies have in mind for us lol.

Sprk - hope everything becomes clearer one way or the other labour-wise for you tomorrow! Sounds like you do't know whether you're coming or going, must be really frustrating when you have other commitments like your husband's appointments!

I've had such a lazy day, was meant to be meeting a friend but thankfully she cancelled so I could just lay around! I've just ordered a takeaway! Got a 15 inch pizza, 12 inch one came free, and some cheesy chips from the kebab shop. Best kebab shop ever just down from my mum's so thought I'd treat myself!!

I've been v down today - just fed up and don't think I can make it to the end Cries loads and just want to hibernate now til its all over :'-(

Sprk- I sometimes get period cramps and the braxton hicks over the top- is it like that?

Mum2b- that exactly it! I could think of how else to describe it. Made trying to time things last night, very interesting lol. Yesterday and this morning the cramps were constant and painful, while the bh feelings were moderate and evy 10 min until I fell asleep.. Tonight isn't has bad cramp wise, because they come and go and the bh tend to happen only when I get up or walk around (so I'm just staying put lol).

Sorry to hear you've been so down today. You are almost there....just hang in a bit longer and your bubs will be with you soon. Xxxx

Chin up ladies the end is not far away now just the last hump to go.

Installed a puppy pad type mat under the sheet in the bed to save my mattress in case my waters go at night. Hoping my baby comes soon, I'm feeling very very fat and uncomfy ATM x

Well my pizza was lush and with that plus two cans of Pepsi the baby is going mental! Hopefully he quietens down before I head up to bed! My feet are feeling so itchy already so I'm hoping I can sleep okay!

Just been talking to my mum about the fact OH went off the name Reuben so we've decided to go with Gideon, she likened it to me saying Caleb is going to be called Fred from now on! Said she'd even written "Reuben arriving" in her diary on my c-section date and had told all her friends and colleagues his name. I just said oh well, get the tippex out. She's warmed to it over the last half hour so I told her she has two more weeks to decide whether to like it or lump it because I'm getting fed up of people piling it on about my kid's name!

aww thats thr name weve chosen but not telling anyone because we had the exact same thing with our first son. Everyone told is how mich they didnt like his name. Just so rude. I didnt change my mind and kept it bit this time we will tell people when he is here.

Mummybear- I was up 2.30-5.30 as couldn't sleep Feel v achy too! Got midwife at 3.15 today. My mum has said she will come and help with Ethan- thank goodness! I feel like a zombie!

Ft90- can't believe that about your mum! Mine would never b quite so frank about disliking our choice! .....Glad your pizza was good! Our Indian was yummy

Mummy bear - which name have you chosen, Reuben or Gideon? I love them both so much. People keep acting like they're so different from each other but I don't see a huge difference between the two. I wish we had decided not to tell people, I just can't keep my mouth shut!

Mum2b - I know, the woman is a nightmare! I come from a family where everyone speaks their minds so I'm used to it and no different myself. Luckily OH and I love the name Gideon so I'm just not bothered in the slightest! The same thing happened with Caleb. Nobody liked it at first but I told them all to butt out and they love it now!

Glad your Indian was nice! I can't wait to get home on the weekend, I love right opposite a lush Indian so I think I'll treat myself! Hope MW goes okay later

I was up at silly hours too, feels like my tummy has been fighting with mike Tyson, very uncomfortable and feels bruised. Anyone else getting a bit peed off with people wanting to help? I shouldn't be ungrateful and I'm not but if my mother makes one more comment about me ironing my curtains in the nursery or lounge I will actually kill her!!! I've just moved in give me bloody chance woman! I can iron them but can't hang them anyway as I need a ladder so what's the big bloody deal!!!!! She nags me about pointless stuff on text, voicemail and Facebook!!! Just really grating on me ATM and I don't mean to sound mean or anything but she just needs to back off, I tell her this and she just carries on anyway, argh!!!

I've finally finished the nursery so can upload pics on the forum if anyone wants a nosey

Hi everyone

The names thing is so hard I have 2 I like and oh doesn't mind the boy on but not convinced on the girls. He wants to ask people what they think and I've said NO WAY!!! Whatever you pick people get used to it really quickly.

Was up twice in night but managed to get back to sleep pretty quick which was a bonus!!

Hope everyone is feeling better today. I'm was hoping yesterday was the day as it was my nans 102nd bday but no luck!! Going to try not think of dates now. My OH says it between 0-25 days now so going to try that approach x

We chose Reuben. My mum is exactly the same. She called my first son Ben for the whole pregnancy cos she hated Cohen lol. I think my lil daughter may have leaked the name to nanna tho. But I'm not nudging again. If we change the name its because me and OH want to.

Midwife was as breif as always he measures 40 weeks I'm 37. She DoD my blood pressure and listened to heart beat.not one have we discussed birthing plan , breast feeding or anything. Is this normal ?

Mine didn't until I brought it up. She told me to just put a birth plan in the front on my file typed up and then she just asked if my health visitor discussed breast feeding. Ticked it off the list and that's it. I just find them glorified admins to be honest. Hardly any support from her whatsoever.

Me either mummybear. The last visit I had (this week) was pretty swift. Blood pressure, urine check and measurement. I was told at the visit before that we would talk about birth plan (I didn't really want to have a birth plan, just go with whatever was needed at the time) but no mention of it this time around. I have not spoken to anyone about how I plan to feed my baby. I plan to formula feed due to personal health problems.

I am guessing as I have got this far without speaking to anyone about it, I might not get around to it. I have a GP appt next week so I might ask her to make some notes on my records saying I plan to FF and just put a copy of a 'birth plan' in my folder myself. Basically my birth plan says;
- As much intervention as needed
- Monitoring as needed
- I will take any pain relief the medical staff recommend at the time
- If I need to be cut, then I give consent
- DH wants to cut cord (I think he might have hit the deck before then though)
- Formula feeding, and do not want to try to BF.

Lol, some plan ay!

Hi all,
Had midwife appointment yesterday. All still fine. Still measuring 38 weeks, still lying with head at brim [1/5 engaged] he pops in and out tho. Booked in for next week to plan sweep if needed. No other signs. I can't even walk down the road without getting really bad stitch, so going for long walks is out of the question. Bouncing away on my ball but thats about it. And small bits of housework. The rest of the time I'm pretty much doing nothing, which I feel guilty about but Im really struggling to get around. Hoping its not too much longer!


mum2b - Big hugs hun, can't imagine how you're feeling. Not too much longer now!!

Put an update on fb but I know you're not all on there so......
Mw appt this afternoon- all checks with baby ok. Attempted sweep but cervix high and posterior so couldn't really do it!..... Waiting for day unit to ring back to book me another sweep Tuesday and if still no progress induction Thursday.
Its not all negative coz baby is doing fine but I feel highly frustrated with my body right now. After Ethan's drawn out 3 day induction at 42 weeks I really hoped I'd avoid this this time round......its looking highly unlikely Oh well! Wish I could just fast forward now and get it over and done with! Xx
