Aww hun that sounds such a positive visit!
Im glad that u can pretty much have ur HB if u wish.
FX now lil MR plays ball & gets a lil growth spurt going ready for ur next scan!

MWs r coming at 2pm to mine. Superior and my community MW. They dnt currently know Charlies breech. Im sure aslong as he turns i can still have a HB. But im a bit nervous having one myself now. So ill c what they have to say and let them go over the whole HB and scenarios if i was the be rushed to hosp for any reason and see how i feel.

Maybe MLU and a waterbirth is just bloody easier for me haha!
A birthing pool company rang me the other day, forgot i filled a request form. Declined as im breech and i dnt want to risk wasting £90 and knowing my luck not even take it out the sodding box!

This is where i keep thinking, what do i want more.. Water or home.. Cos like i mentioned before my MLU has a pool in every room.. So if section is off the cards shall i just go to hosp. Hmmmmmmm!!!!!

Why is this so hard ahaha!

Have you thought about preparing for both (so have your hosp bag ready but also whatever you might need to labour at home) and make the decision on the day? I'm pretty set I want a home birth but in the back of my mind, and I keep telling hubby and mum this, I might decide on the day that we're going to hospital!! I don't need to rule anything out so I won't!!!

Any tips on how to get older towels feeling a bit soft? I've got some nice new fluffy towels but I've been told to get some old ones ready for birth but they just feel too scratchy for a newborn? Maybe I'm being a bit weird about this!!! I've got black fluffy ones as the new ones - obviously need to wash these anyway but I want to keep them as soft as possible!!!!

Yeah bags all packed as a just incase anyway and online things needed to be added is phone/charger and mat notes otherwise.

MWs been, cant plan my homebirth and have kit delivered until she knows what happens after ecv.

After a chat with her i think im my head mlu will be better now... Ill c what happens next thurs tho anyway x

Have u tried washing them in non bio fairy? Might fluff them up a bit xxx

Making birth plans are so hard lol When talking to the SOM earlier she said "it's like you have a flow chart in your head" lol Which is true, depending on the outcome of certain things will lead me in a different path on my plan. She was impressed that I had done my research and am weighing up each option.

Babyslog as much as I really want a homebirth this time, I'm definitely not feeling quite so set on it at the mo as I just want baby here as safely as possible and if that means hospital then so be it. Plus I think if I get offered induction before my due date I will probably just take it just so I can stop stressing and ease my anxiety of something happening to him inside where I can't do anything to help him. Whereas once he is out I know that I can fatten him up with breast milk like the boys, who both gained weight after they were born and never lost any.

Your also in limbo with plans until you know what happens with your ecv like I am with my scan. Let's hope we both get good outcomes :)

I haven't even packed a bag yet as I was so adamant for my homebirth, really need to get more organised, as I may not have as much time as I thought lol I still have stuff to buy! xx

I think if this ecv works im just guna aim for mlu water birth... Alot of ppl questioned me when i said homebirth cos of how lovely University Hospital of Wales MLU is..
Its close, very close..
I only ever thougt about HB because of the whole streSing about Noah thing.
The boys dad only works a few mins around the corner from my house andni have his managers number too so id easily get hold of him even if he eas teaching a swimming lesson as they can just grab him to come get Noah. His new house is again 5/10mins from mine (other direction from hosp)..
If its working hrs my mum whos my birthing partner will grt a task from Cardiff ciry centre and be there within 20mins..
Week days and weekends my step dad is home so again he can always take me to hosp.

I just stressed, but tbh i dno why cos it really isnt that bad when i think about it lol!
I was just worried my labour would be quick and being at home would be easier. My MW even just felt my belly then and was like 'god id put money on that being his bum not head' - sorry love but its HIS HEAD lol!! Id freak having her as my me at home lmaooo x

Your MLU sounds lovely, so jealous! We've just got the naff old unit which doesn't seem to have seen a lick of paint for years haha.
The consultant unit is brand spanking new tho, kinda hope I end up in there again lol. There's more pools in there too so would be lovely :-)

Sorry guys, but WE'VE HAD AN OFFER!!!! It's not high enough but the estate agent is pretty certain that they'll go higher. But omg I'm bricking it.....we might be in a mad rush to find a house now....with a baby due in 5 weeks eek!! Xxx

Ohhhh gosh jen!!! How exciting and nerve racking at the same time lol!!!!!

I was bouncing up and down, Oscar looked at me like I was nuts haha. I hope they're quick and ring back with a good offer today so I can start arranging viewings etc. Xxx

It does sound like you have a fab mlu, so I wouldn't see it as a bad choice either hun. It is stressful when you have to think of childcare. My mil and fil will watch the boys and thankfully mil doesn't work and lives just 5 mins walk away (handy but very frustrating lol) so can be here quicker than hubby if he was at work!

Just have to hope if I get induced it's not a long process as I don't want to be away from the boys for too long. Although I know they will be safe at our house with my inlaws as they have watched them here overnight before.

Yay for getting an offer Jenni, fingers crossed they up it for you and then you can find something you like too. Definitely stressful to be doing 5 weeks before due date lol. We moved house when James was 9 weeks old, but it went really well xx

Yeah! I think i was making a bigger deal about the whole childcare thing that needed haha!

Also my MW was saying elective sections r so different from emergency ones, including recovery. As ur body hasnt had to struggle & exhaust itself out through labour first.

Mentally prepare for it better too. Not sure if its the same in all hosps but ahe sId if it did come dwn to a section if ecv doesnt work that now u can get discharged just 24hrs after if both well. Instead of 3 days where u mostly have to stay after emergency ones.

But yeah i think MLU otherwise :) xxx

I actually think moving house with a newborn would be far easier than moving with a 2yr old like we may be doing at least a newborn will not want to "help" lol

Woohoo Jenni!! Hope you hear soon - that's all happened nice and quick :-) with any luck, you'll just get away without doing much when you've got a newborn and get to boss the help around!!!

I think the thing about birth is as long as you're mentally prepared for the outcomes, then it doesn't matter so much how it goes? It seems to be really hard on people when they've got their minds absolutely set one way, and things change. Because birth definitely isn't predictable!!

I'm going to have to be mean in respect of my inlaws. They've not been down since start of March - we were quite busy over Easter. My husbands working all of next weekend (this weekend is obvs too late) and the following weekend we're going for a long weekend in Cornwall. Then I hit 37 weeks and I just don't want visitors staying. They take up so much room, I lose my spare bedroom which will probably have cot/crib/other bits up ready, and I absolutely wouldn't want them here if I went into labour (my mil is not my favourite person. She takes a bit of a story and can really twist it - she's also definitely discussed my parenting with my BIL in a negative tone, because he's said some pretty harsh things to me over the last few years that are based on things I've said to her!), and I don't think if I DID go into labour, I could tell them to leave and travel 200 miles to come back in a few days!!! Not sure they'll take it well, my reluctance to have them here. Even a hotel isn't a good option because they'll camp out in my house during the day and I just don't want the mess you know? I shouldn't feel so guilty about it - need to stop myself!!!

We'll be moving with a newborn and a nearly 2 year old, it's going to be hell as much as I love to boss people around haha I'd rather be up and doing stuff myself and know it's done 'right', I'm too much of a control freak :-/

They've come back with another two offers since. They started at £108k and are now at £110k, that's as high as they will go cos they're buy to let investors so will have to pay another £3.5k in stamp duty on top of the sale price. We're on for £114k and we're hoping to get £112k, but I think we can get by on what they've offered. Trying to get through to OH is a nightmare, and surprise surprise he's away again tonight so no idea how we're going to sort all the figures out over the phone tonight :-@

I think I'd be the same as you Tigger. Just thought of having people stay in my house so close to due date makes me twitchy. I'm adamant I don't want anyone near me (apart from OH) when I go into labour again, I didn't tell anyone last time because I just didn't want the fuss and pestering. Will they wait until baby is born until they come up? Xxx

Aw god tigger id be the same hun!

Im ao not in the sociable mood now haha!

Sometimes I'm pleased we don't have a spare room so people can't come to stay. I'm with you Tigger though on not wanting to 'host' guests though. I'm a very private person and can't even stomach the idea of my mum being anywhere near me when I'm in labour, let alone my mil - who I luckily get on with but she only lives down the road. Was one of the reasons I went against a home birth, that along with living in a terrace right next to a bus stop - I would not be able to get out of my head the whole village would be talking about it on the street outside. Luckily my mlu is great, pools, mood lighting, aromatherapy, balls, bean bags, mats, chairs, and more importantly privacy.

Jenni what an exciting time, it will be mad but just imagine what it'll be like when you're done. Fingers crossed for you x

I just feel bad for my OH. And I know they'll make some comment about wanting to see Jake and not being a pain etc etc, but they ARE. I can't relax in my own living room when there's people there, you feel you need to do stuff, they leave cups on the side from their multiple cups of teas etc etc. It's all so minor and petty. But they'll phone up on the Monday/Tuesday and "can we come and stay" and I KNOW my oh will say he'll have to ask me. So they'll know I said no. I'm actually a bit nervous as to how quick after birth they'll come down and visit. They came the day after Jake was born and stayed with my parents - but that only meant sleeping there - the rest of the time was in our house :-( I know they'll want to be "helpful" and take Jake out to occupy him and give me space, too, but I won't let them take him on his own and I don't want him to feel I'm pushing him away so don't want to be away from him once baby is here. I'd love to be able to live in a little bubble with just me, hubby, Jake and baby sometimes!!

I'm in pain again tonight. Really achey heavy period pains. Had them bad on Monday too - but yesterday she was totally free and not even a little engaged. So not sure what these pains are about :-(

I have a cooked baba!!!!!!!

37 WEEKS TODAY! :)

Can not believe how fast this pregnancy has gone!ni know this last bit will drag though lol.

Noahs did! He didn't arrive till 41+3 lol x

Yay for being fully cooked Dani, Harry was 41+3 but James surprised me at 40+2 I thought I was in for the long haul again! Still not long to go though.

Ok so I'm going to sound a little neurotic and crazy and I know full well that growth scans can be inaccurate. But I'm wondering whether my placenta is inefficient late in pregnancy. With Harry I had growth scans because of my bmi and he was on the 32nd centile at 30wks, 24th at 35wks, but born on the 7th at 41+3wks.
James was on the 39th centile at 30wks and born on the 16th centile at 40+2 so again dropped quite far down the centiles.
So my worry is this baby was already on the 17th centile at 30wks and now the 8th at 34wks, I don't think I have any hope of this baby gaining weight and going above the 10th centile seeing as both boys dropped 23-25% from 30wks to being born!
I feel OK about it and resigned to the fact I will probably need to be induced. Going to busy making plans to make sure I feel happy enough in hospital and get what I want.

See told you I was crazy lol xx
