TTC Weight loss thread :)

The thread had gone a bit quiet so glad your joining, I can't believe at a size 12 you are overweight but I was a size 14 and now I've lost a stone I'm a size 12 so feel slimmer!!!
My BMI was 31.9 and I was in the Obese category

Just worked out now I'm over a stone lighter my BMI is 29.1 so I'm still overweight apparently weight for my height should be between 7 stone 10 and 10 stone 6

I once lost loads of weight and was 10 stone but everyone commented that I looked too thin and I was a size 8 so I would be way too thin at 7 stone 10!! :eek:

I'm 12 stone 2 lb so another stone would bring me down to what I'm comfortable at (and a size 10 ) but I would be still classed as Overweight? ??

What do you think Nemi? How much do u want to lose?

Well done on a stone off Clover, that's brilliant. I've been quiet because I've been RUBBISH - eating everything in sight! I'm back out in Asia for the next few weeks, partly with my OH and partly working - traditionally I'm much worse when over here - I certainly usually drink more! So far I'm doing ok but need to keep it up over the weekend.
 
Welcome Nemi - everyone I know that works in health and fitness says bmi is basically useless but I know it's something we all keep an eye on when ttc. I'm around the 26/27 mark but I'm definitely overweight.

Well I'm CD 1 today and even though I feel really crap I'm going to continue to concentrate on my weightloss,

since beginning this thread I have lost 1 stone 1 lb so I want to continue to lose so I have a better chance of conciving naturally

Today ive had Porridge, soup with bread and for tea I wasn't hungry so I've just had fruit and some dark chocolate,

Drinks ive had Skimmed milk, Raspberry leaf tea and about 3 cups of coffee, coke zero and Fanta

Tonks how are you doing sweetie?

I've started today off well and I need to make myself start doing the fitness dvd tonight. I'm going on holiday in May so need to at least make myself feel reasonably comfortable wearing a bikini!

This morning I've had a feta/tomato/mushroom omelette and a banana
Already 2 cups of coffee though! oops and a fennel tea.

Anyone got any meal inspirations for me or anyone know of any particularly fertile foods?I'm going shopping tomorrow.

I do like to have a drink but try to limit myself to weekends, and only glass or small bottle of beer/cider

I was a bit naughty last night and ate some Lindor chocolates, since it was CD1 I decided I deserved a treat :)

A holiday is a good motivation to lose a bit of weight,
I'm trying to eat more fertility food and drink this month, the foods I'm going to be trying to eat more of are Salmon, Broccoli and dark leafy veg, Beetroot juice (helps blood flow to uterus and ovaries) Grapefruit juice (helps weightloss and improves ewcm )

I defiantly want to get pregnant more than I want to lose weight but I think my weight is affecting my chances, is that the way you're feeling? but TTC is sooo stressful so it makes you more prone to eating bad foods!!!! arghhhhh :wall2:

Well done on losing a stone! Thats fantastic!! I personally can't see how anybody could be a size 10 and still be overweight. If that is what you are comforatbale with then i would go with that!

I think if I could get my BMI down to 25 ish I would be happy, so maybe drop down to a size 10 and lose about a stone. Anything to help with my baby making!!

I downloaded the myfitnesspal app yesterday and started tracking what I eat. I also thought I ate quite healthy but when you have everything added up in front of you its amazing how all the sneaky biscuits and bits of chocolate add up!!

I'm currently sat in the office at work craving chocolate and trying hard to distract myself and not give in!!

No exercise done yet, determined I will do something at the weekend! :)

oooh I use the myfitness App its great, its amazing how those calories add up!
I'm really bad on a evening and Weekend, to be honest I eat a bit of what I fancy on a Sat/Sun as long as I'm good during the week

I see you've been TTc a while, I'm coming up to 2 years, really hope that losing a bit of weight helps our chances :)

Oh I've got salmon, I eat dark green veg a lot I've got broccolli coming out my ears!
Right well tomorrow I'll pick up beetroot and grapefruit juice too.

I'm normal BMI - I'm a 12 (well they are getting tighter by the day) and I'm 5'8 so on the taller side. I've always felt comfortable but now I feel uncomfortable and my tummy even when a bit jelly belly looked flat but now it does stick out a little. I've never thought my body was stopping me getting preggers I think for me it's a very mental thing.

I was always gangly and skinny until I was about 18 when I started very slowly putting on weight going out every week binge drinking and eating kebabs! The only 2 times I've lost a lot of weight was about 5 years ago having my tonsils out as I lost my taste for about 6 months after and after I had my son. I honestly think I was so content after having him I just didn't eat that much and I didn't put much weight on when pregnant as I was quiet nauseous or had terrible indigestion for most of the pregnancy. Now the weight has slowly piled back on again!
I think working full time and having a toddler makes me eat more. After I've got him to bed I just want to pig out!

I had cheesy chips for lunch - Slapping my face as I speak!!!

Im back to loosing weight now, hope everyone's got rid of a couple lbs!
The 6 lbs I lost I've put back on since the mc I've been comfort eating. Which I'm surprised I haven't put even more on!
Me and hubby are staring the gym at the start of march (Pay day) lol. And I've made a menu plan for 2 weeks so we stick to it because usually we just don't know what to cook and end up having a takeaway and should save us some monies lol
86lbs to go!
 
So I went running with my OH on Sunday! Doesn't sound like much, but it is a big deal for me! I struggled, but I know that if its hard then it is working.

I've been really good but today I accidentally had a glass of coke and chocolate on my lunch break! Whoops!

I don't actually currently own any scales so I think I need to go and buy some.

Hi ladies, just wondering if I can join your little gang please? I joined Slimming World last week and lost 3lb at my first weigh in tonight so I'm pleased with that!

I have about 1 stone 4 to lose to get to my target, so hopefully I can keep going in the right direction.

I was just wondering if any of you ladies do any sort of bootcamps or HIIT classes? I was planning to start doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, but there's loads of conflicting advice about tough exercise and whether it affects TTC!

I should probably loose some weight. I'm 5'7 and 12.2. My bmi is 27. I think I could probably use to loose a stone. I just have zero motivation! Lol I'm quite happy the way I am. I'm a size 12 and is evenly spread so I carry it well if that makes sense.

Clover.. Bmi is silly! Lol before I had my daughter I was about 10 stone 7, bmi 23. I was an 8/10 in clothes. And I looked too skinny. Apparently I could go down to 8st 4 and be 'normal'. I would have looked like a skeleton! Lol

I wouldn't let it get you down Hun. Just loose as much as you feel comfortable loosing!

How do you keep yourself motivated? Xx

I'm starting slimming world tonight.
I'm a size 16 and weigh just over 14 stone (I think) and I'm 5'8".
I'm not keen on BMI as feel I'd be too skinny and I love my curves, plus I'm heavy boned. People always tell me I dont look like I weigh as much as I do.
So I'd like to loose 1.5 stone initially.

I joined here but never actually done it properly. I haven't dieted for about a year and a half. I'm so annoyed at myself as I previously lost 26lb on weight watchers. I put all of it and more back on but thankfully since July I've lost 12lb, although I've not done anything deliberately just not stuffing my face 24/7!

I'm 10st 7 but I'm only 5ft 1 so I badly need to lose a stone. I was 9st 5 at my lightest on weight watchers and I felt amazing but it was very hard to maintain. If I could get down to a 9 on the scales again I'd be delighted!

My best friend is having her 30th in 4 weeks so I'd love to lose 8lb for that (just to get into the 9st mark ;) ). Is that realistic?

I also have no idea what diet to try. So far I'm just having a shake and banana for work, soup or brown bread sandwich for lunch with a yoghurt and piece of fruit, dinner is always something home cooked then a cup of tea and weight watchers biscuit at night. I ate clean before and lost weight really well but struggled with it because its not necessarily food I love! I'm also gluten free so not as easy. Hmm, what do you all think? xx
