I've just been told that none of my 3 embryos were suitable for freezing so that's the end of the free NHS treatment for me (I was entitled to 2 frozen cycles but obviously they won't happen now)

Sorry you had nothing to freeze tinslecat, I had the same thing and its so frustrating because we only got 1 fresh nhs cycle and of course couldn't make use of the 2 froZen cycles when we had nothing frozen.

FingersX you have a sticky embryo in there and you won't need them anyway x

aww Tinsel really hope youre babies are on board! I think the NHS is england is pretty crappy, I know its a long shot but you dont fancy moving to tenerife do you cos you can get 3 fresh cycles here plus any frozen? x

Yes I'm mostly off work now, my last day with my current employer is Monday, but people aren't really turning up to work as they know there's no point (and nobody else is there!)

Gemma, again so sorry you got a bfn, but wow 3 frosties !! I got only one and it died on defrost! so having three must really stand you in a good position there , brilliant!!!

Tinkerbell, how are you getting on with your short protacol ? where are you at now? near EC yet?

I have EC on Monday JJ, it's gone so quickly this time around. I have a good number of follicles again so hopefully a nice number of embryos like last time. Just don't know if we should just push for a 3 day transfer this time no matter how many we have or try and go to 5 day again if there's enough.

Good luck Tinkerbell, If you have enough by day 2 then id push for day 5 as from the reasearch ive done its better, but if they isnt many do day 3, do you get to freeze on the cycle? And do you get the choice of 1 or 2 embryos? x

Thanks Gemma, ideally I always would have thought day 5 was best but after last time where all our embryos were great at day 3 then by day 5 weren't good at all I'm not so sure and maybe they'll be better where they should be in my belly.

We can freeze but the cost will fall to us, so we'll see what happens when it comes to it but if there is more than 2 we'll probably do it.

I think normally we'd have a choice to put 2 back which I think we'd do but as I have health issues I think I might have a fight on my hands getting them to agree.

ah right ok well id fight for it if you can because it seems like youre getting this on a trial and therefore not any nhs choices left? And yes deffo freeze any left over ones so worth it as the cost of a FET isnt as expensive it is. I really hope this is your chance. I see you had IUI after ivf are you ok to do iui then? What chance you been given with that? Id love it if we could do IUI cos the costs alot less isnt it if you need to do private x

Nope no nhs funding left, used our one and only chance which is why we paid for IUI but thankfully this opportunity to do another ivf came up.

We've got unexplained infertility so were lucky to be able to do IUI, we think our problem is related to cervical mucus being far too thick so was certainly an option we were lucky to be able to take, IVF costs is around £4000 where as IUI cost £1000 so huge difference.

Is there nothing they can give you to make the cervical mucus thinner? It must be hard having unexplained really, at least when they know the cause they can do stuff to fix it. Good luck anyway hun xx

my great gran took 7 years between each pregnancy, obviously no contraception in them days... I do think perhaps some people just take longer to fall but doesnt mean theres anything wrong xxx

I'm after some advice ladies..... I called the clinic last week one the 1st day of AF as directed and our apt is with the nurse can anybody tell me what to expect? Will they scan me. I am doing the antagonist protocol.
Any advice is much appreciated

I'd expect a scan and she will look at the thickness of the lining of your womb. Assuming that is ok, you should get info on how to use your meds e.g. injections etc.

Tinkerbell, how did ec on monday go? Hope all was ok? I think id be tempted to go with lead two embies back on day 3 tbh!! And any frozen a bonus, much better back in mum, just my petsonal view after having only one from 6 good embies making it to a full blasto but on day six and really not as hot then!!
