~***September Mummies***~

Had our tour of the labour ward tonight. It's made me sooo excited to meet our baby, can't believe that the next tour is in a month and we could be in there having our baby by then! The rooms were huge and all en suite and all the rooms on the post natal ward were single too so no sharing with other crying babies. I can't believe we'll be going there so soon to have our baby...so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!

Oh how exciting! And excellent you get your own room after, will be so nice to have privacy etc. I need to arrange a tour case I hate the thought of not knowing where to go etc x

Yeah it's definitely worth going. We parked in the main car park and it was such a long walk to the ward, it was right at the other end of the hospital and so the midwife told us where hubby could park to drop me off which was right outside the ward so at least we know that now...means I don't need to embarrass myself by having contractions right through the hospital haha

I didn't have a tour first time round but had a tour of the new birthing centre on Friday and I'm so glad we did. It's so lovely, so different to what I expected. Its made me more relaxed and excited about going there now. And like you BeeSmall it was good to go to know there's a maternity entrance to the hospital so no contractions outside the cafe in the main entrance!
What's everyone thinking the weather is going to be like in September?? I've packed my suitcase apart from mine and bumps going home outfits as the weather is so unpredictable... X

I'm the same, it could be freezing in which case baby will need all wrapping up to come home or it could be really hot still in which case they'll probably be wearing only a vest and nappy for the first few weeks! It's so hard to know. I've put a small pile of my clothes in a bag that I'm going to leave at home so if the weather changes I can just ask my OH to bring that bag in to the hospital. Dread to think what he'd choose if I asked him to bring me something from home!! Will put a few warmer bits for baby in there too in case it's really cold x

I've packed a few things, I full body romper, a shirt sleeve vest and a long sleeve vest and a blanket. Not like it takes up much room haha xx

I had the same problem packing our going home outfits. For me I'm taking comfy trousers and loose top but I've also put in a thin maxi dress that doesn't take up much room but will be better if its still as hot as it has been. I've packed another bag with some extra bits for me and baby that I'm taking wih us but leaving in the car just in case we need it and in here i've packed a thick cardigan for me that OH can bring in to me if I need it for going home. For baby I've packed layers so I've got a short sleeved top and leggings set but then if it's chilly I have a long sleeved vest I can put underneath to cover her arms and I've got a thick cardigan, hat, socks and blanket for her. Xxx

Starting to worry about my trip to London this weekend, I'm struggling to walk at the minute due to my pelvis being so sore and I keep getting shooting pains, I can't cancel as I will lose about £400 and I realllly want to go but I'm just worried. Luckily I'm sure my mum n sister will understand if I need to stop etc but I ow how busy London is and the hussle and bussle is kind if worrying me, like the underground etc. I don't go there a lot but my experiences aren't great xx

Just looked at my notes and when midwife asked me to drink more she had written leu trace in urine. Google says they r Leukocytes. Anyone else had this xx

Yeah I've had this. Leucocytes are white blood cells and can be a sign of infection but if its just a trace chances are it could just be contamination from discharge or its just the start of an infection so if you drink plenty and flush your system through it should clear it before it takes hold. Drinking plenty worked for me, it never developed into anything xxx

Ah thanks hun xx

Try not to worry too much, live for the moment ;-) I've never been into London myself but the idea would scare me, I'm a proper country bumpkin though.

Have you been there pregnant? People may be nicer to you!! I keep getting in trouble for labelling nasty city folk so I'm trying better ;-)

Constantstar I have zero experience... But Ammdaz sounds like she knows what she's talking about! Lots of fluid can help flush an infection before it takes hold.

Had a bit of good news today, the part that went on our car (same that we replaced last year) has a 2 year warranty on it according to the garage (they had said this wouldn't be valid at he time as it would entail disassembling the engine basically) so we MAY be able to get the part replaced FOC (approx £350-400 to buy!!!!) and my brother can possibly fit it relatively cheap :-D our plan is: get car fixed, sell car, buy another car we hate less... All before baby gets here!!! Thank god for my dad letting us borrow his car till ours is back on the road!!!

No not been there pregnant so hopefully they will be nicer :-)

Great Newton the car front, hopefully it won't be as bad as you first thought xx

God this thread is scaring me. It reminds me of all the stuff I need to do still! I didn't even think about my clothes!

Hayley - your nursery is beautiful. Will you do mine after Kim's? :) Hubby is painting ours this week and the carpet arrives Saturday.
I wouldn't worry about London. People will be lovely and give up seats and all sorts for you. As long as family are patient you'll be fine x

Had my 35 week appt. today. All ok. Measuring 36cm. She told me to start eating pineapple and curries at 37 weeks!

Is anyone fully ready for baby? X

im ready and waiting, hubby is taking me shopping for RLT and various other things tomorrow in the holland and barrett penny sale. need EPO, arnica, pistachio nuts and possibly fenugreek just incase

I feel more and more ready with each passing day, I would like to have her in September though and not August just cause I'm September really haha I've had the 4th in my mind all along so maybe that's when she'll arrive :-) I still can't believe how close we are now it's all so exciting xx

Bev - What's RLT? Raspberry leaf tea? Whats EPO? What does it do? And the others too?

I wanted to go early, but I'm definitely not ready! :)

I definitely hope I don't go early, but I don't think I will. Though I'm starting to get very uncomfortable now, it's not easy hauling myself up off the sofa and mum keeps telling me off for sitting instead of lying down because of my cankles!!!

Got to take Sammy the cat to the vets tomorrow - he's off his food and has no balance so keeps toppling over. Not nice to see.

Michelle - all you need is somewhere for baby to sleep, something for baby to wear, something for baby to poop in, and a car seat to get home! Which you have already, so no panic :-D

Cankles - mine are turning into thankles. There's no difference from my thighs to my ankles :( My feet are puffy and tight.

I know I'll be ok. I just want to be organised and start putting things away. I don't think I'll go early either. The only reason I wanted to go early was because of school start dates.

Does it make a difference then? I thought every baby in September would be same start dates for school etc? Jim desperately doesn't want an August baby, and I'm busy on August 30th, so this thing will be in trouble if it tries anything more than a week early!!!!
