***September 2016 Mummies - the last lap***

Morning ladies. Sorry was MIA yesterday - have had two really bad nights in a row with millie and feeling like utter death at the moment. Feeling very tearful and over tired today!

Know what you all mean about movement as I start to panic when I haven't felt baby in a while. I don't always feel it so much during work as think I'm distracted by other things.

I am hoping if I have to have a c section that it isnt another emergency one. Don't rate emergency ones as I was so panicked last time plus the epidural didn't numb my one side very well so I felt a lot more than planned. Want to give natural a try but then want the decision to do a c section if necessary to be made early and not in a rush.

Xxx

Aww I hope you are feeling better today Naomi.

I started a slight panic on movements last night, then a little logic took over. I haven't really felt them kick much the last 2 days, apart from I do still get the kicks in the bladder, but they do move as they take in turns to stretch out and make me lobsided, so I do feel them shift around ... I suppose there really isn't enough room in there for a party anymore is there.

I have never had a section but that sounds awful Naomi, it's one of the things that's scares me about them x

Yeh that's what I'm figuring. I'm still getting a fair bit of movement but the movement is a bit smaller these days and not many kicks more rolls and pushing etc.

And yeh it wasn't the most pleasant experience last time. I think a planned section would be much smoother xxx

The anaesthetic dr said that, as the epidural only numbs you from waist down where a spinal block numbs from just under you boobs. Do you think you will request one? Or are you going to try and go naturally? X

I don't know yet. Going to see how the next growth scan goes and then discuss options at 35 weeks I think. I'd like to try it naturally if I can but scared of having an emergency section again so I don't know! Xxx

I can understand that worry, fingers crossed you will have an idea of what's going on soon x

I'm with you all on the movements - a lot less kicks but more moving/rolling/pushing. It's a very quiet baby during the night and in the morning - usually when I've had breakfast it becomes a bit more active and then settles down again :)

After Monday nights experience I am still suffering from a really achy back - I don't know if it's because I have been tensing with the pain on Monday but it's sore to take a deep breath/painful ribs. The baby was breech so I'm wondering if it's trying to move and that's causing the uncomfortable pain??

Hope you are all doing okay - we're nearly there ladies!

I find it painful to breathe, and both of mine are breech so maybe it's the pressure of the head on the diaphragm? X

Ah that's possible MrsB... especially if the baby is getting bigger it might be putting more pressure on the diaphragm?

On Monday night they didn't mention if the baby was breech or not so I wondered if it had turned? It still feels quite hard at the top of my bump so I assume it's still the head?

My midwife said that where the head is was too hard to be a bottom so I just assume the rock solid bit is always the head lol x

I'm sore today :( ... My skin on my bump is sore to touch, a keep getting sharpish pains across the bottom of my bump (nothing I can't handle) I also keep getting pressure down below and the top of my inner thighs are incredibly sore.

I have behaved today though and done little so my back isn't sore :)

Just wish I knew what was making my bump sore and uncomfortable then I could ease it

I have the usual aches from heads in my diaphragm to them stretching out and my skin splitting etc but now I have the new aches.

How's everyone getting on? Who's the next one to start mat leave? Mine officially starts on Monday :)

Our lounge is coming on thick and fast, still some holes that need filling, but Chris is off work tomorrow and his dad was round today and will be tomorrow and then all weekend. Chris is hoping to have at least started papering by the end of Sunday, which I don't think is unrealistic as a lot of the prep work has been done so 3 full days with the two of them working hard there should be some major progress ... Fingers crossed.

Naomi is Millie better now? Have you decided if you are going to change the date that you finish work?

Karen 1 month until you meet your long awaited little man :)

Now I need to learn how to switch my brain off and fall asleep ... Not likely to happen as I have so many things going through my head that are baby / birth related, but going to give it a go :) x

Nice to catch up with how people are.
Just been to midwife and BB is now transverse and swapping between breech and transverse.
She said 2 weeks and it's decision time. She also said I am above normal size wise and no signs of gestational diabetes, so at my consultant appointment I am going to have to have a scan for size. I get freaked out at the tiniest thing!
If I have to have a c section, I am sure it will be fine, but you get ideas in your head and then they all go to pots! Fx BB moves in time and that the measurements are just because of position of baby.
Arg. Pregnancy is a rollercoaster of pain! Haha. Love it really and as long as I get to meet my baby, I'll be happy whatever way it arrives.
Still worry about movements too as we don't seem to have a pattern. Feel it every day, but go through periods in the day with no movements and panic every time. Luckily have finished work until end of maternity leave, so know I am lucky there, but wish I could just relax and know that baby is ok.
Anyone else worrying about movements? I have been into DAU 5 times now, maybe 6! Xxx
Hope everyone is ok.

Siamesescatlady sorry you are having a rough patch at the moment I definitely stress over movements to and it's the worst feeling ever. But soon as I get to hospital boom he's moving like crazy. I should have just bought a Doppler :wall2:
My baby was breech for awhile and turned into position at 35w and then all of a sudden during my 36 w ultrasound he flipped and was transverse. Now he was turned head down on Monday and I'm hoping he stays put but evidently he can turn at last minute even though he is over 7lbs.
I wish you well and hope you get the birth you want.

Thanks, Toni! So do I. Good to hear your story though. Xxx

Have you tried Biooil, MrsB? It's expensive but lovely stuff.
Poor you with the aches. It seems to be that as things progress there are new types of pain and in different places! I have had this and latest is all under my bump...
It just gets so tiring doesn't it, the pain?! I am not even carrying twins and it's soooo frustrating. Glad to hear you're taking it easy.
We are at inlaws until Saturday. Lovely to have finished and be away. Think baby was kicking so much yesterday as felt relaxed, although this morning it is very quiet. Must have worn itself out!
Sleep is crazy too, isn't it? I sleep but wake up 5 times usually and don't feel rested... Husband peacefully snores through it all! But I am the same as you. I can't switch my brain off at all and sometimes that means if I am awake at 3am, I'm awake and just not going back to sleep. It's funny as people say it's your body preparing you, get used to it but in the same breath tell you to get lots of sleep! Arg!
My maternity officially starts on 31stAugust but as work in a school, finished on Friday! It's alright for some, I know!

Have you tried baths? They always help with my pain. Xxxx

Millie was hard work all day yesterday and took me hours to settle her last night. No idea what's up with her? She's got all her teeth so can't be teething. Feeling exhausted with it all though! And my parents are travelling at the moment in Peru so no babysitters to give me a break haha.

Exciting that your lounge is nearly done Caroline! Could the bump pain be where your skin has stretched so much? Perhaps try moisturising it as much as possible? The skin around my belly button has been hurting a bit.

Still haven't decided when mat leave will start. Well, going to start mat leave from the date of my induction, but as far as potentially taking a weeks annual leave before it I haven't decided. Leaning towards august 31st as my last day though which will give me potentially just over a week before induction.

Xxx

On the very up side, look at the gorgeous blanket my mum in law made us!
Can't upload... But will try again!

Bio oil is my next trick
I don't often feel them move first thing in the morning, I don't think it's part of their routine.
I always pee at 1ish, 3ish and 5ish sometimes in between so spend chunks of the night twiddling my thumbs lol, and I personally think on the body preparing us is rubbish, we managed to get our son to sleep from 10-4, have a feed and then sleep until about 8. He did that from being 2 days old :) ... We may have manipulated him into that though lol.
I bet you feel relieved to be off work now :), I'm hoping to find work in a school next year when I return off maternity leave, my degree will be finished then and I was planning on putting teacher training on hold for a short while as we will have a lot of nursery fees to pay out.
And I don't get a bath as often as I would like as we don't have one, we moved in March to a house that only has a shower, and as every nook and cranny of this house needs decorating and the bathroom looks about 2 years old it's not on the top of our list. I do get one when I go to my mums though, and I'm going there today so might have one today :)
Also what is it with snoring husbands? I have a short fuse with mine at the moment, probably from lack of sleep etc, but he snores down my ear all the time, when I'm practically in tears from the pains he half wakes up and says 'I know it hurts, I know bad the pain is' ... Which he clearly doesn't as he is snoring again 30 seconds later lol x

Oh no :( bless her, I always think Liam can sense that I'm struggling and plays up for me, so maybe that could be it? Do you have anyone else nearby that could help? Even for 2 hours?
I have a few different pains going on it's bizarre, the stretched skin bit stings all the time, I'm moisturising like crazy but it only soothes it for an hour or 2. Then I have period like pains, not the cramp ones the more persistent being sliced open kind - if you know what I mean - then I have the pains from the weight of it which are quite dull. And they are just the pains in the bump haha, unfortunately paracetamol doesn't help with all of those pains so I'm persevering as much as I can and swearing terribly when Liam isn't nearby haha.

Have they given you a date for induction then? And 31st August is sooner than originally planned isn't it?, I personally would take at least a few day before so you can either rest or make sure you have everything ready x

Oh and Button - one of my dogs - has literally just jumped on my bed to say good morning and vomitted all over my bed :( so now I have to get up x

Today's my last day at work. Two weeks of annual leave followed by Mat leave starting from 18th August.
