**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Bottles per day depend on time of feeds etc but he has 5oz every 3-4 hours in daytime and one feed during the night.

He has about 30oz a day

What is everyone up to on for Christmas?

Our LO's are so young, James will be just short of 6 weeks on the big day!!

Crimbo Eve we have a Birthday party [friends little boy turns 1] in the afternoon and then we'll be chilling in with Crimbo songs on the radio, steak sarnies for dinner and a glass of Bailey's.

On the day itself we'll get up, OH makes breakkie and we'll open our pressies - well we'll help James open his  then we'll get ready and pop to see the in-laws.

We'll head to my folks for about 2.30pm in time for a massive slap-up dinner, my Mum has 16 of us this year [including James and his 3 week old cousin]. It will be a loud, silly, possibly drunken afternoon. Not for me obviously!! Although I will def have some wine with dinner.

On route home we'll pop back into in-laws as they are just round the corner from us..

Boxing day we wont get dressed. I'll cook loads of party nibbles in the afternoon and we'll settle down with a film! We'll have leftover party nibbles for dinner.

I can't wait

Nat your Christmas sounds awesome! Especially not getting dressed on boxing day :)

Christmas Eve we are going to my parents' with my brother for cocktails (non alcoholic for me!) And truffles and pheasant. We'll swap presents with brother and SIL.

Christmas day to see the sister and my nephew, then to parents again for Bacon sandwiches, Christmas dinner later (just the 5 of us) and a nap after of course!

Boxing day OH back at work :( but I have 14 family members coming over on the 30th to swap presrnts. I'm making corned beef pies, roasties and gravy - very nervous!

I'm so excited, just 3 more sleeps (or lack of!) xx

Hi all
Freya born 16th November 3.15am 7lb 8oz
She is 5 weeks 1 day today an for last 2 nights has slept 11pm-630osh waking only for dummy during the night. Is this ok?! Would any body wake her thru night for a feed?? Have had so many mixed opinions but surely she would wake /cry for bottle in night if was hungry , instead of going back to sleep once have given dummy? She is having 6 bottles a day, I do her 5oz bottles an most of the time she finishes it?
Advice/ opinions welcome lol x

SNAP MrsL!!! My little lady was born exactly the same date and time!

It's a nice quiet Christmas for us this year. My Dad came down from Scotland yesterday so it will be chilli for dinner on Xmas eve with a glass of wine and will watch the Snowman..this is my feel Christmassy movie.
Christmas day will just be Dad, OH, Madison and me, oh and the dog :)
Boxing day will probably be PJs with another big dinner and an early night as the next day we are travelling to Scotland for New Year.

xx

Anyone had proba with lo settling in Moses basket? She wants to sleep laying on me and only settles for about ten mins in basket?

Arthur prefers boobie area than his moses basket xx

Yeah but. I'm trying not to cuddle her when she's asleep any more and put. her in her basket instead, she's been in it last 4 nights but has kept me up half the night lol still its nice to be able to pull the covers right up to my chin :) xx

James still won't go in his crib!

He sleeps mainly in his carrycot at night and in his chair for daytime naps.

He has been difficult to settle of late so I am so thankful when he goes to sleep that I tend to just leave him

My LO will settle on my chest or OHs then once she's sleeping we put her in her basket and shell stay there :) she won't settle in her crib or didn't the first time I tried.
She will be in her crib after Christmas when I start to try and establish a little routine with her as she seems to be sleeping longer at night :)

Nat..have you tried padding out the crib to make it more cosy? I'm going to try this and see it is makes any difference to helping Madison settle plus Ewan the dream sheep should help! :D x

Hello

I could do with ella getting into some sort of routine, she has this habbit of staying awake between her feeds at nights but then will sleep all day really well, iv tried keeping her awake but shes just fast off.! My OH has a 12 hour shift tomoz so iv come to the couch (again) ! Plus shes still waking up every three hours for feeds which doesnt leave me time for much sleep inbetween.

Xmas eve me and OH will have a drink or 2, watch the snowman and get an early night
xmas day we are going to my parents for the day, my mum does a huge xmas every year and every one goes there so will be fun then OH back to work so all will return to normal!

Going to try and shift some of this baby weight in the new year but will be taking full advantage of it over xmas

Went to white rose shopping centre today.. got up early got everything ready to avoid the rush got all the way there and as were walking from the car OH says 'i havnt got my wallet'! Arrgggh. i even said to him before we left the house have you got your wallet so we had to drive all the way home.! I was super annoyed so everyones got biscuits for xmas thisi year from marks and spencers!

Ruthie I've been.told not to keep them awake as it could make them overtired, just wake her from her naps by playing with her hands etc a little earlier, she is getting her long periods of sleep in the day when you want them to be at night. Cathy is doing exactly the same thing xx

James has finally settled, fingers crossed he'll stay down for a good few hours now (he has done the past 5 nights?)

I've just poured a Baileys and opened a tin of peanuts, I'll be off to bed very soon though.

Lol well if there's ever a time for Bailey's its now! Tis the season after all! I don't know how I'd react to alcohol now, there was an alcohol-soaked cherry on top of a cake I ate earlier and I had to spit it out! Xx

I also love a glass of Baileys over the festive season :) I cheat and buy Irish Knights which is 4.50 in asda and tastes exactly the same! x

Just had 4hrs sleep, oh did the last feed so allowed me to get my head down, ive not seen 4hrs sleep for a while xx

Glad you got some rest Wilson! EBM is a lifesaver sometimes lol. we've had a good night as well, she got up for a feed at 2 but I'd just expressed and so kept everything quiet and calm, didn't speak to her or make eye contact, we were back in bed in half an hour and after a bit of fussing she went back to sleep!

Does anyone know if its possible to start your period before your flow of lochia stops? I'd got to the creamy/white stage but now I'm bleeding dark red again and had some tummy pains this morning. It's been years since I had a natural period (we fell before I had one lol) so I'm really confused! Xx

I love bailys at xmas, its such a treat! I havnt had one yet this year but im looking forward to a few drinks tomoz!!

Im still taking my medication for pre eclampsia as my bp just wont go back down :( its so frustrating to be still having problems a month after having my LO

On the plus side its xmas eve :), iv washed up tidied up and now im going to wrap my prezzies!
Soo exited to watch the snowman and snowdog tonight lol OH finishes work at 5 and hes off for 2 days so he has said he will do a night feed :) Merry xmas me lol
