**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Is anyone in a routine or u find yr still not dressed till dinner lol xx

The past few days its been up at 8, get us both dressed and ready and Cathy fed, express watching Frasier while she sleeps. That's when it generally when it goes to hell... But I've been trying to get out for a walk and meet OH from work xx

I hope that dosent mean that we will not get to know 1/2 of the November mums...
I never check the specific month threads, a thought crosses my mind with a baby it's even more valuable to hear the thoughts on an "issue" from parents that went though this already.

Obviously the bond that you have with the other November mums is sth really important but I feel a little sad as the baby and toddler compared with the pregnancy gets less "flow" as mums are really busy to post usually.

I know that everyone is welcomed in this thread but if everyone is welcomed then it should be out there for everyone to read?
I don't think the mods should shut it down, if you feel that you all need a separate place to chat then you should have it but just don't you all stop posting now in the main baby and toddler section

I did wonder about it being a bit cliquey Hope?

However I still post in the main forum, as do the other ladies...

I just thought it was nice as we all have babies of a similar age to have a thread - It will either take off or die a death??

As a few of us were still posting on the Tri 3 thread I just thought we could carry on here? As well as benefit from the knowledge of all you lovely Mummies that had your babies before us!

This is a thread for idle chit chat, nothing 'important' as such! We need all you other Mummies for all the important advice and help

Cheers, I hadn't been told about it but I guess that's because I don't live in London. If not they'll get in touch most likely xx

I think you only need it if you're in certain areas (London being one of those areas!)

HV booked us an appointment when James was just a few weeks old...

And us, although we were due in November Henry was born October! 22/10 6lb 3oz!

Nice to be able to keep track of other mummies without post searching!

Well that's good, I don't want her getting any more jabs than she needs xx

Hope, I understand what you're saying and will try and lurk/post on the rest of baby and toddler as well as is thread!

I'm glad though to have this thread, because it's good to be able to chat easily to people whose babies are the same age.

Hi, Not sure I'll be a regular poster but will probably lurk a bit if that's ok??

Tabitha Eve born 27th November weighing 9lb 15oz.

It's a HUGE relief for me to read that some of you are expressing and feeding via bottle... Tab had a tongue tie which was dealt with when she was a week old, but due to her size and the tongue tie she became dehydrated so she ended up being topped up with formula with the intention of going back to bf... Well she decided that she found it too difficult to feed herself and try as I might I have had to give up for both our sanity!!
How long are you ladies intending to continue expressing and how often do you express? (If you don't mind me asking?!)
Thank-you xx

Lurkers are welcome - post when you can though its nice to know you are all getting on well :)

1st bump - I would like to keep expressing until I go back to work in July when Cathy will be 7 months but hope to have a stock in the freezer so I can keep going a little bit longer. In an ideal world I'd do the full year, but it just isn't feasible in my job unfortunately.

At the moment I express about 7 times a day I think, midnight, 5am, 8am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm. (roughly those times anyway). My supply is a bit rubbish atm though I don't think I'm getting enough sleep :/

Really resent OH today - its his second day back at work today and he keeps complaining how tired he is even though he sleeps through while I get up, feed Cathy, express and settle her again (usually about 2 hours total). Then he changes one nappy when he comes in and decides its my turn next even though I've had her all night and day - if we're doing alternate nappy changes I'm more than happy to wake him up! Now I'm even resenting him for the length of time he's taking on the loo - he's been in here half an hour ffs some of us don't have that luxury! Lol think I'm just tired, might try and get to bed early tonight and he can do the last feed! Sorry for the rant ladies... Xx

Arthurs is 3wks tomorrow and im still BF him :) going to start expressing tomorrow so i know how much hes getting as hes clapping on weight really well, im going to express as long as i can :) xx

1stbump12 - I didn't have a plan for how long I would express for, but after the stress of attempting to get back to exclusive bf I promised I wouldn't put myself under that pressure again. So I haven't been expressing at night and haven't been religious about it during the day either. Consequently, my supply has started to reduce already. I wanted to manage another 3 weeks at least, but I'm now only getting enough for a couple of feeds a day and I don't think my supply will last that long.

I feel a little guilty that I haven't made more effort, because I could have, but other things have been more important to me, like taking him out and spending time with his nanna. The main thing I feel guilty about though, is that he loved breast feeding (even if I didn't) and I've taken that away from him. He was sleeping in our bed too, and we had to stop that because he just cried to latch on

I only managed to breastfeed for a few days (well I didn't actually manage as James wasn't latching properly and wasn't getting much at all)

I started expressing on day 3 and would top up with the occasional formula feed.

Now I am all but FF, with the occasional breastmilk as I got lazy with expressing so my milk supply has really slowed. Expressing was bloody hard work and I have a very hungry baby, he takes between 25-30oz most days and I couldn't keep up!

Once I found expressing too difficult and stressful, I switched. Better for me to be sane and happy and enjoy James than be stressed, tired and feeling like shit about not being able to feed my baby.

Hello everyone!
Seems like its been a busy day for everyone!!

I'm thinking of introducing some formula feeds in the evening as Madison is attached to me a lot at night and I just don't seem to get a rest. I'll booby feed through the night just in the hours leading upto bed time. OH doesn't seem too keen, I can see why as she is doing so well on the booby milk, am I being selfish?

If mods or other users find these threads too cliquey then we could always suggest a separate area where there areas for mummies from different month. I was on a wedding forum a few years ago where they had a thread for " I got married..." then the month and year, so it could be " I became a mummy in.." food for thought I suppose?!

I too will be posting on the other threads just good to carry on the journey with ladies at the same stage :)

xx

This is exactly how I feel xx

Awwww lovely to see all you November mummies in one place :-) so much easier to keep track of how you are all doing! Hope the January ladies do something similar when they all pop! Feel all alone at the moment lol :-) xxx

I'm getting a little stressed about my supply but worst comes to worst I formula feed - its not poisoning her or anything. I'm only getting about 3oz per pumping session now :( maybe a good nights rest will do me good xx

Nat if you dont mind me asking how much does james take at each fees and how often does he feed? I think im going to start making up 6oz as i think she's starting to need it?

Olivia weighed 9 lb 7 oz last thursday and takea 5oz every 4 hours. She has 6 feeds a day basically.
She's being weighed monday and will be 6 weeks sunday. Im sure she will be over 10lb - she's a right chunk.

I know that every baby is different but im just curious to find out wht babies of the same age or weight are taking. Ive never followed the guidelines to how much mill babies should take though xxx

I miss my pregnancy skin!! I have come out in a few spots on my ace and its making me feel a bit crappy!
I think its my hormones and the fact that im sure my period is on its way - well ive been thinking it for a week now and did have some bleeding last friday which didnt last long.
Im sure it wi grace me with its presence just in time for xmas - and my 6 week check haha x
