Nice bumps ladies. Kabuk yours has certainly grown!

I still haven't got anything to sterilise bottles and not sure what I'd need. I'll still need it even if I'm breastfeeding I'm guessing. I got a good tip from someone - to express a full bottle in the morning, to give to baby at night, as supplies are low then and baby goes to bed with less and wakes up earlier hungry. I'll need a breast pump too then! Any recommendations??

For breast feeding, it's really important to feed overnight as that's when the prolactin hormone that helps with milk supply is at it's highest. Ideally you should exclusively bf and get established before introducing bottles etc. Breast milk is produced on a supply and demand basis so each time baby feeds they are stimulating your breasts to produce the amount they need and therefore each time you give a bottle and baby doesn't feed, it can interfere with supply. You should feed baby on demand as much as baby wants in the early days to get milk supply established. At least that's what I remember about bf!!

You want a pump with 0%back flow so it's much easier to clean
Either the medulla swing or the tommee tippee one.

I just brought the tomeee tippee one it cones with a steriliser and a bottle or two and it's half price at toys r us atm

And 100% agree with what Emily said above x I plan to exclusively bf and express as well in the down time (I'm gonna be like a cow lol) to build up a healthy freezer store ready for when we go combination feeding after shout 4 weeks

Lovely bump kabuk.

I am so crampy and in quite alot of pain, I just want a hot water bottle but can't. The sweep has certainly done something but it will be annoying if it is just going to make me feel like this up until Wednesday as I can't do much, in too much discomfort.
Had more spotting too, its mucusy so I am assuming its tiny bits of the plug. I hope this baby comes soon as this is not manageable for 5 more days!! xx

Lisey have you got a ball you can bounce on? Or walk up and down the stairs or even have sex? Sounds like you are so close and just need something to really get it goung! Even watching a film that will make you laugh whilst cuddled up with your hubby might he enough to put you into labour... Xx

Thanks ladies. Yeah, this bump really came out of nowhere.

I went with the medela swing and got it second-hand. I'm hoping he takes to breastfeeding, and if so, I'll do it exclusively for a while. I do want to pump to enable my dw to feed him too. Even though more and more airlines are accomodating to women breastfeeding, I think I may look into taking breastmilk with me on the plane to not risk any complaints- that assumes I breastfeed beyond 6 months. I want to for at least 6 months, but will try to go for the 9 months I'm on mat leave. After that, it will be mixed and I'll try and continue for night feed until he's 12 months. I can't see going beyond that.

Aww lisey, I hope your little one makes an appearance soon. It's no fun being in that much pain.

I do have a ball. Will get OH to inflate it later. I couldn't possibly have sex, it was really tender and painful when she did sweep. I am trying to keep mobile, took dog out earlier and trying to walk around the house. All I want to do is get in the bath xx

Oooh Lisey it really does sound as though things are getting started for you. Keeping mobile and upright is great to try and keep things going but if you're really uncomfortable and want a bath then have a bath. Being relaxed is also important to help things progress.

Eeeek!! This is sooo exciting!!!

Keep thinking about Snowbee too and if her bubs is here safe and sound.

I hope it is. Very annoying if the pain is for nothing and I just end up in pain til induction.
I keep thinking of snowbee too xx

It does sound as though things are getting underway. They say if a bath doesn't soothe the pains it's a good sign. When I was in labour with my son they put me in a bath until I couldn't handle the pain anymore then it was gas and air and all systems go.

Kabuki.... in a word (or2) ..... f**k em! If they kick up a fuss about bf then shame on them they are small arrogant self obsessed arse holes! I bf my son anywhere and everywhere lol i was nervous at first but he was such a hungry baby if I had to be discreet everytime he needed a feed I'd never get anywhere! Lol I once fed him whilst walking around asda lol just get a nice scarf or poncho or something if you're a bit shy or want to preserve modesty.

I really hope all is well with snowbee.

Thanks Ery. I have a bf wrap, but it's more for others than me. I'm not shy in the way of feeding him, just really don't want confrontation. I'm good at that, but if out with my dw, who would be annoyed with the complaints of others, she would also be embarrassed with my reaction. I can really speak my mind and it's rarely quietly on matters like this.

Lisey, I really hope it isn't long now. I'm sore enough down there without a sweep, I can't imagine what you must be feeling. But I'm with the others, if you want a bath, take it. Relaxing is important to and at some point you'll be much more pain and ready to push- need energy for that.

So had my curry and my belly is having super tight tightenings it's done something but I don't think it's labour related lol. I think she is just freaking out with the intense flavours!

Oh and lisey...... whilt googling my back and tightening pain I came access this

Keeping calm and relaxed can help you to cope with the contractions or tightenings. It will also help your body to release the hormone oxytocin, which you need for your labour to progress.

This could mean watching your favourite film, going for a walk, pottering around at home, or asking a friend or relative over to keep you company. You could alternate between walking and resting, or try taking a warm bath or shower to ease any aches and pains. If you can, try to get some rest to prepare you for the work ahead.

Thanks ladies. I am going to get in bath soon. Father in law is working in room so bit awkward xx

im in alot of pain tonight my belly and back are really hurting :( waiting for oh to cook dinner and then im going to go in the bath

really hope everything is ok with snowbee

Yea I had the swing with my son the tommee tippee looks similar but I've not tried it yet I'm giving it a go as it's on offer and had good reviews but if it's no good I'm going back to the swing!
