May 2018 Mummies....Tri 2

Congratulations! Remind me, is this your first?

I’ve started buying our first baby bits now, I’ve been going through the sales to make the most of our money, we’re team yellow though and it just feels like everything is designed for a boy or girl and I’m struggling to fine much unisex stuff which is annoying.

Sparrow I just picked up a some bits of unisex i think it was enough for about 10 days then when baby was here added the colours . Sainsburys do some really nice bodysuits and vests in grey and white and they wash really well .

Thanks for the tip I hadn’t thought to check out Sainsbury’s x

Sainsburys is brilliant . The vests I bought Emily until she went out of nappies from there . Other than next which are expensive I found sainsburys just as good quality for kids clothing especially babies. Keep an eye out for there 25% off clothing they have throughout the year too x

cant believe i'll be 24 weeks in a couple of days - V day! (viability day!) Holli you must be there tomorrow if not today already?

I'm having such a better 2nd tri than my last pregnancy. At this point with my son I had SPD pain, incredibly painful bump, painful braxton hicks already, unable to sleep due to kicks and was starting to find it too painful to drive the school run. If i spent any time on my feet i was crippled the next day. This time I'm JUST starting to get that slightly inflated uncomfortable feeling , but i'm sleeping fine and no hip/pubic pain at all. Isnt it strange how different pregnancies can be only a short time apart too?

I'm getting a lot more thumping about with the baby moving but its not interrupting my sleep, i only notice it when i wake up for DS, who is going through a bit of a crying stage at 3/4am......I think this little girl is going to be a lot calmer than him who was wild in the womb and still wild out of it!

Is that 24 weeks? I thought that was 27 weeks ha! You'll know more than me though so exciting :-) yes 24 weeks tomorrow so can't believe I'm here!
We have discovered Willow likes Coldplay every time we play them she kicks non stop (both me and lane are massive Coldplay fans too)
I'm jealous of the no pain I can't get comfortable at all no matter how many times I try, my sickness is finally calming down it's not every day now it's more every 2-3 days so I'm glad about that although I will probably jinx myself now ha! My emotions are annoying me big time one minute I'm crying full on lump in back of throat chin wobbling and I can't stop ( I don't cry at anything usually I couldn't even cry at my grandads funeral and he was my hero) next minute I'm raging mad and want to kill lane or anyone whose annoyed me then I can just sit laughing at nothing and get belly ache I've laughed too much - and pee myself lol! I feel for lane he has no idea what mood I'm going to be in xx

Yep it's 24 weeks and 37 weeks is classed as full term.

I hate having a anterior placenta! I feel so cheated . I would have rather had it first pregnancy as i wouldnt know any different and not this one I want to feel something , I will worry so much if in tri 3 I won't feel much as I will panic.

Some people still go on to feel movements so fingers crossed you will still feel abit of something especially in tri 3 xx

I hope so as I'm just not bonding as I did with Emily . I feel the slightest tiny movement when I'm led on my left hand side maybe twice a week if I'm lucky and I really have to concentrate that's it. We used a doppler with Emily nearly every evening but I dare not use it this time as I probably won't find the heartbeat .

When do you next see the midwife? I think mines a week on Wednesday so I can't wait to hear her heartbeat again!
I've got everything crossed that when your in tri 3 and baby is bigger you will feel more I think there's a thread on this forum about it some where quite a few feel baby move when bigger xx

My next midwife appointment is 7th Feb. I posted on tri 3 asking when they felt proper movement and it seems like I have a few more weeks to wait when alot of them was feeling baby.

claire louise i know you wish you could feel the kicking so you can bond, but in my experience bonding during pregnancy has little bearing on bonding after. My first pregnancy was wonderful but i didnt sadly bond with my daughter. My pregnancy with my little boy was nothing but pain and the baby was just this parasitic THING that i wished would get out of me. I bonded with him straightaway! In fact i bonded with him so well that i feel i'm not bonding with this one as its a girl and i'm besotted with my baby boy! But I know it will all be ok in the end

I never bonded with Emily when she was born as she was sick and in the nicu ward , I felt helpless and wanted to leave . The pregnancy was great but went wrong when I went into labour . I just need to feel something I hate feeling like this .

Claire, I have an anterior placenta too and have been feeling a lot more movements in the past 5 days than I have before that time. I can’t compare it to anything else as this is my first but I can tell when he is lying in my lower abdomen and then when he rolls over. I’m 22+2 so hoping they get stronger and more consistent over the next few weeks.

Thanks nat , I'm sure I will feel more as the weeks go on. This one seems to love pushing down on my bladder as all I want to do when I stand up is go to wee lol

Hey all. How are we all doing? Really enjoyed catching up on posts this morning. Shame so many of us have anterior placentas. One of ours has one and he other doesn’t. Not had any massive kicks or thumps yet from either girl, so dunno how much it’s affecting us.

Glad you’re having a better 2nd for GBLiz, especially having a family already to care for.

We had our 20week scan this morning. Been a bit worried after our 12 week scan but everything seems fine and nothing showed up to contradict the NIPT we had done. Need w repeat in 3 weeks as one baby was not compliant and lay on her tummy so they couldn’t complete all heart checks, but nothing they saw concerned them.

Just booked a personal shopper slot on Saturday at Mamas & Papas. They have a good deal on atm. They offer 4 increments for discount if you spend certain amounts using that device. £2000 = £450 off! We are going to get a bunch there this weekend on order.

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care x

Glad your scan went well! I have another scan on 1st feb- extra growth scan due to my age i think. Although 27 weeks is a bit of a random time to have a growth scan IMO- its not like they can do anything at that point . In my last pregnancy my extra growth scan was much later i think it was 36 weeks. I guess things just vary from region to region.

Is anyone booking a 4d scan or anything for later on? I have had one with my previous two but money a bit tight this time......

i'm suffering slightly with achey legs for some reason. i do tend to get inexplicable muscle pain disproportianate to the activity i've done, and it has been looked into a little, but blood tests last year didnt show up anything. i had intensely painful thigh muscles the other day and i think it was simply down to having a bit of a walk in shoes that were slightly higher than usual throwing my muscles into a slightly different position. Its really annoying because a very small thing can leave me in a lot of a pain for a couple of days. today its been my hamstrings and inner thigh muscles just hurting . still, not as painful as last pregnancy so i'm thankful its not worse

I'm not going to book anymore scans, that is probably it for me until baby is here. I won't risk seing the gender then or be tempted lol

Hi ladies,

My baby is due on the 29th of May. Yesterday I found out that I have an anterior placenta (which explained why I couldn't feel the baby moving) and I found out the gender! My first (and probably only) baby is gonna be a boy! So excited! His father doesn't know, but I'm not bothered in sharing this with him as he didn't even ask about his own child (not once).

Anyways, super HAPPY

Sorry to hear you’re in pain. A few of you seem to be suffering a lot which sucks.

Our parents have us money to have a fancy scan for Christmas. Need to book it still! Whilst we are having extra scans we wanted to get one. This is our first and only pregnancy as we won’t get any fertility treatment given we won’t be child free and I will need it as o don’t ovulate naturally (unless pregnancy fixes me). So on that basis we want to one. Luckily we don’t need to cover the cost!

Xx
