May 2018 Mummies....Tri 2

Thanks for all the replies ladies found this very helpful

I'm hungry and if i don't eat straight away then I start to feel sick. However I get full really quickly so can't finish a full meal.were made up he's a boy and it all seems more real now. We're pretty much decided on Freddy as his name! Harry is insisting on calling him Fred! Lol.
I've felt a few flutters but they are very irregular. Can't wait for them to be more consistent and for Harry to start feeling movement too.

Hi I don’t post often but I read every day and love catching up with all your stories! X sorry to hear some of you are having a worrying time, hope it eases soon and you can look forward to seeing your babies xx
I had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and it was fairly uneventful. Midwife was lovely and so chatty but wouldn’t listen to the heartbeat which I was a bit disappointed about but otherwise all was ok .
I’ve been feeling little movements, mainly in the evening so that’s nice x I am so impatient to find out what he/she is, my 20 week scan is 27th December and honestly I’m more excited about that than xmas! I can’t focus on xmas at all!
Keep on with the updates everyone!

Well I'm back on my first shift at work today and every one been good to me and put me on food and tea/ coffee duties I'm home at 2 so it's been pretty decent my boss came to check I was ok bless her, so thirst today drink a 2lt bottle of water with lemon juice in and cups of milk but think it's cos it's soooo warm in this care home. Why are old people soooo cold?? Was throwing up again last night and this morning as soon as I got up I was touch and go wether I was going to work but lane deiced car for me and so far I've not been sick since this morning,
Can't believe your mw didn't offer you heartbeat onion I didn't ask for mine but mine said there's not much they can do at 16 week appointment except listen to heartbeat xxx

Thats why I havent been bothered that I didnt get a 16 week appointment! Still, its a long way to go between 12 and 20 week scans if you dont have a doppler or private scan for reassurance.....

I only had a mw appointment a week after my booking appointment where they said they didnt know why the appointment had been made......and my next is the week before xmas and i will be about 22 weeks i think. I dont think there is much they can do then apart from check urine and blood pressure as they dont start measuring fundal height til later on

I have my next scan on 19th so I think I'll be 21 weeks then and I next see midwife around middle of Jan when I will be 25 weeks, do we have any more scans after the 20 week scan or is that it? We are thinking of getting a 4d scan when I'm about 30 weeks to see how much she's changed from the almost 17 week one xx

no you wont get anymore as standard on the nhs unless you are over 40, you might if you need a growth scan or there are any concerns but otherwise thats it.

Long time to go isn't it? I thought we might get one around 30 weeks or so will certainly look into private scan then Cos I will panic despite my belly getting bigger and sickness I still like to know she's ok in there xx

When I had the 20 week scan with Emily I had to go back a couple of weeks later because she wouldn't behave and they couldn't check her over properly . Then I had another one because my placenta my low lying I think that was at 36 weeks.

Because I'm under consultant lead care I will be having scans at 20, 28, 32 and 36 weeks. This is due to blood clots in the family I think because I'm only 27

I'm consultant led but I'm yet to meet the consultant my family is full of blood clots too my dad almost died 2 years ago with a heart attack from blood clots to heart and legs, my grandad had them too and they also said due to my allergies I'm high risk but I've not heard anything. When I was in hospital seeing mw around 16 weeks she told me this and said I'd get an appointment to talk with consultant but I've heard nothing yet xx

I'll get an extra scan due to my advanced age *ahem*

I met my consultant at the 12 week scan and she made me have a blood test for DVT, it might be worth asking about?? I haven't had he results yet because they said it will take a while as it's a big test

I think it's over 40 now. When i was expecting my first I was 32 and was considered geriatric then! It's since changed, 32 isnt considered a risk factor now , but now I'm 42 I'm back to geriatric  however as I am healthy in all other ways they will probably strike me off the 'high risk' as they did last year....

I thought it was over 35 ? I'm 36 now 35 when I concieved I certainly feel geriatric this time around lol

Hmm, maybe it is, after a quick google. I just knew that for the birth centre i used you were not supposed to be over 40
