***March 2020 mummies!***

A girl in my office block had the elvie, her opinion was that it was ok...but not worth the money.
I had a medela mini electric when I had ds, but it was hardly used as he totally refused a bottle until I went back to work. I think the medela swing is the current version and supposed to be good. I bought a double pump 2nd hand when I went back to work but it is a really old one, does the job though!
My advice is just get a cheap single one to start with, see if breastfeeding works, and if it does try and introduce the bottle in a few weeks. Don’t pump too soon! Then if it all works and baby takes the bottle invest in something good.
@Clairexx89 how was your appointment? Hope the sweep gets things going! X

Just back from midwife, couldn’t do sweep as cervix too hard, apparently baby is engaged though, midwife said there was no point trying a sweep again, have been booked in for an induction next Thursday, did want Wednesday but they are full, I’ll be 13 days over next Thursday.

Ahhh I hope your induction goes well tomorrow @Niknaknoo!!! Fingers crossed no drip.

I'm sorry they couldn't do the sweep @Clairexx89. Dont lose faith though, conditions change so quickly.

@Sunrise212 I hope this baby makes an appearance soon for you!! I wouldn't bother buying a pump until you've got breastfeeding established, they are such a personal choice and are non returnable for obvious reasons!

So I was induced yesterday morning via pessary, told to come back in 12 hours if no baby. Intermittent tightening all day but nothing requiring any more than paracetamol, and all fine on monitor last night. Woke up just before 6am today thinking I was having contractions. Due back in hospital for 11 but made hubs call at 8:30 to say we were coming in - he didnt tell them, he bloody asked if it was okay and they were obviously like 'well we are quite busy at the moment...' I told him I didnt care, we were going. So we arrived just after 9 and the monitor picked up nothing.... not even a slight tightening, so they left me hooked up until it was almost 11 and then the midwife came back half way through a contraction and was like 'ooh that looks quite painful - let's have a look. Ooh 5/6cm' :rotfl: never been so relieved in my life. Straight on the gas and air, then down to a delivery suite - where my midwife listened to my request not to be attached to monitor permanently! Went for a wee just after midday and felt like I needed to push so let the midwife know, and I think I was pushing for about 20 minutes for waters, baby and placenta. It was crazy fast. Ended up with a tear and stitches but nothing as sore as last time.

Baby Reuben arrived at 13.04 today, weight 7lb 13oz <3

Congratulations. So happy it went well for you and you have your beautiful baby in your arms. 20mins for waters baby and placenta... Wishing I could be lucky like that... Enioy the cuddles xxx

Yay!! Congratulations @Summerwine sounds like your labour wasn’t too bad! Hope you’re not too sore and enjoying your new bundle of joy.

Sorry to hear they couldn’t do the sweep @Clairexx89 you never know, baby could arrive before Thursday. Try not to be too disheartened <3

I think I’m going to wait to buy a breast pump and see how I get on with the breastfeeding as I don’t want to commit to one just yet.

Congrats @Summerwine !! Let’s hope mine goes quickly too!!

thanks for all the luck ladies, I don’t think it has hit me yet that tomorrow is eviction day!

sorry @Clairexx89, it’s awful waiting around. I hope it happens naturally in the meantime.

Waiting (impatiently) for the call from the hospital. Was told to expect a call between 8-10 so rang them and eventually got through. They said I’m on the list and they’d phone me when they are ready but it’s quite busy. So it’s a waiting game! Oh has come down with a cold too so we were worried he wouldn’t be allowed in but they have said as long as no temperature he can come.

Oh I'm so glad he can come with you! Not something you want to be doing alone. Hope they get you in at a reasonable time.

Hopefully you aren’t waiting too long @Niknaknoo

I had another sweep this morning. Midwife could feel baby’s head today which is a really good sign! Got told to stay active. Really hoping this one works. If not, in for induction on Tuesday. Feeling cramps and a few tightenings since the sweep. Hoping it’s going to lead to something.
