*** June 2015 Mummies ***

You'd think that but she said they discharge at all hours as they need the rooms back and you need to hope you're one of the "lucky" ones who get discharged during the day so you can still call a midwife for help if you need it when you're home...One way to get to stay in though is if you're struggling to feed, she gave a wink at that so that's obviously an excuse you can give to cheat the system lol!!

I'm starting to get that nesting feeling. Emma's early arrival and all the other scares we've had have made me realise I'm under prepared. A friend told me her baby was 4 weeks early and she had to drop in at Asda on the way home to buy things as she hadn't up until then....x

Hows everyone doing?
Think its hitting home here as well that baby will be here in the very near future, and im feeling v unprepared too. Did a lot of washing at weekend but im barely half way through it all. doesn't help when birds insist on pooping on your washing, my bouncer cover got targeted twice!!
In other news my heartburn is near enough gone, ranitidine is a god send!! Bump feels like its all baby and the movements can be crazy some times. its as if theres no room in my bump any more and its feeling v uncomfortable already. Have had some aches but dont think its braxton hicks, never had them before or in my last pregnancy. curious to know what they feel like, Is anyone getting them?

Colleteypie, glad to hear your home, frightening time for u! Are you resting up today?

How are you feeling now Buggy?

Happy anniversary Belfa!

xx

I couldn't get away from the hospital quick enough after my first - and I had an epidural lol

They kept me in for 2 days and I literally cried/begged to be let out (with the promise to call immediately if there was any problems).
Me personally, I don't like the hospital - nothing meant towards people that work there of course, I appreciate all the hard work they do.

I'll be counting down the minutes till I get back to home comforts and my l'il fam x

My house is finally nearly sorted! All new floors finished, painting is done, only need to build babies wardrobe! :)

My pram will be here in less than half an hour!!! I can't wait!! My nan bought it for us, doesn't want it kept in our house but I don't really have a choice. Has everyone else got their prams in their homes? Xx

I'm not feeling too bad at the moment thanks. The nicer weather helps. Still having trouble with my pelvis, got some other exercises to try but might have to get crutches if it gets worse :(

Thanks girls :-)! I am having a nice relaxing day. Just having some tea and toast for lunch. Put a wee wash on and just been looking at baby stuff and deciding what will be in the hospital bag. Aim is to have my hospital bags packed for next weekend after that wee scare. Headache is so much better, feeling way more normal.

On a strange note I started raspberry leaf tea last week - and have heard of a family friend who was told to stop taking it after an increase in blood pressure and protein in urine with it! Might just be a weird coincidence. I haven't had any since thurs and that's my blood pressure almost back at normal... So I prob won't be drinking anymore just incase!

Nice to hear you are doing better buggy. The nicer weather def makes a difference.

Charlie you are sounding super organised!

Belfa - happy anniversary :-)! How many years is that? We are 4 years married in May! Can't believe it. Oh and we were at a place next to Gleneagles. Drove home early Sunday morning. I was initially sent to the new victoria by nhs24. Then they sent me to the southern. They were both really nice - doctors and midwives couldn't have been more helpful. Has made me a bit calmer about being in hospital. Isn't the scary experience (apart from the worrying prospect of something being wrong) that I thought it would be! xx

2 years for us though we've been together 10years in May! What hospital will you be giving birth in? I'm at the RAH in Paisley though there's rumours it will be closed at some point and moved to the Southern.

I have managed to spend nearly £400 today. Need a sit down! I bought the snuzpod at last so that was nearly £200 but I have been having problems with my fashion sense. I know that sounds crazy but I asked my husband to warn me when I started dressing oddly - seems to be footwear that is the issue as I'm going for comfort but not making the best choices and most of my footwear is geared for winter. So, I bought I pair of sandals with a slight wedge and a pair of pump type shoes from Sketchers, both have memory foam soles so I should be comfortable. They'll be good for work as I'm rocking trainers and a dress atm.

Then I went to boots and bought maternity pads, breast pads, cotton wool balls & water wipes.

Thank goodness it's nearly pay day  x

I'm at the southern. It's not pretty from the outside by any stretch of the imagination. Loads of work still on going. Think will still be a mess when I get to my due date - hopefully I get to the 4th!! I have a friend who was at southern but relocated to Paisley as think they have better water bath options!? Don't quote me on that! But she preferred it. She was due last week and haven't heard from her over the weekend so she might be there right now!!

Gosh you have had an expensive day. I need to get all of the above from boots too.

Where have you all got your hospital nightdresses from? Really not much choice out there! I've heard an oversized shirt might be a better option for birth than a nightdress. No idea where to get one from tho!

Lol @ the fashion sense belfa! Tho your shoes sound comfy :-)!

Yes they do, they have at least 3 rooms with pools I believe and the CMU is actually always pretty quiet when I've been there (I think as people choose to get epidurals so are sent downstairs etc) so you have a good chance of getting one. I think that's one of the reasons it would be a shame to close it as it must be valuable to have an overflow facility like that.

I'm just going to Primark and getting a bit nightie and also a big person's bikini if I go down the water birth route. I also need a dressing gown as mine doesn't close anymore and I'm told they're a necessity if you stay in overnight! x

The Royal only has two baths apparently - I'm hoping I get one! Haha

We've got our four year wedding anniversary in May too Colletteypie!

It's a really nice day out there. I've not done much work today... oops!

I got mine in primark too, big & comfy with some buttons down front for skin to skin and bf. Plus their cheap enough you dont mind throwing them out if they get too soiled. I also got my dressing gown in primark too, just size bigger. Was navy so can hide any stains if your walking about. Also got my slippers for hosp there too, cheap and cheerful. Im reusing them all again this time x

Let's hope it all works out in your favour belfa. We have our SnuzPod now, need to build it at some point though. Love a spending spree.

Charlie bet it's exciting getting baby's wheels. Our are at MIL but only 5 mins up the road. Didn't wanna leave it outside in the garage.

Glad you are feeling a bit better today buggy. the good weather defo helps.

I need to get some maternity night dresses and then I think I have everything apart from snacks for my hospital bag. Just found out my niece or nephew is being delivered on Friday, so exciting, our lol one will have a cousin the same age so it's fab.

My SIL's live abroad and I'm an only child so my baby won't get to be close to his cousins which is a shame, I think it's very special and I loved my cousins growing up (they moved to the USA when we were teenagers).

Charlie I was just thinking about my pram and how it must be nearly ready. I suspect my mum will keep it at hers as she's buying it for us but I want it at mine so I can play with it in quiet...lol!

Do we need sheets for our pram? I have seen it on other threads so was going to get some extra sheets for it x

I used a fitted sheet on the mattress of the carrycot and thin or cellular blankets on top x

Wow busy thread today. Glad everyone is feeling better and enjoying the sunshine.

I had gorgeous cuddles with my nephew over the weekend. Was at a local footy match friday night to watch OH's brothers play a cup final and he was fast asleep on top of my bump for about half hour. Suprised he slept so soundly tho as my LO was kicking like mad underneath him. Makes it so much more real that it will be me with a little baby soon.

Charlie I have my pushchair in the nursery already but still need to put the back wheels on. Wanted to get it all out the box and make sure we know how the car seat fits in the car just in case.

Any of you girls started washing baby's things yet? Part of me wants to at least get hospital stuff washed and on the line while the weather is nice but wonder if it is a bit soon. X

Hello guys - Been MIA for a while due to work and family but things starting to wind down again here.

Have seen that we already have a June Baby! Congrats Emma!! Hope you are all doing really well.

Also have been keeping (kind of) up to date with this thread so know that there have been a few scares recently too. I hope they remain as just scares and that all mothers and babies are doing well (and that those babies stay put until they are absolutely ready)

Start my maternity leave on Sunday Morning, physically I am ready as this week I have noticed it getting harder to do my job. But, I am dreading having so much time off - I'm going to be so bored!! Because I wont be returning I am actually really sad too - Like its the end of an era.

Hope you are all well.

xx

Oh I love my pram!!!! It's amazing! It's up and set up in the nursery anyway! Our mattress has a little cover on but I'll prob put a little sheet over it too just to keep it nice :)

I've washed babies hospital bag things! I start maternity a week on Saturday!! I'll be washing the rest then I think! Exciting!!

I'm finding everything so tiring recently, not sure if it's my low blood count or just coz I'm getting bigger haha! Xx

Hey girls how's everyone doing?

Finally only have one week to work next week, can't wait to finish now woohoo!

Some of you are finishing work already!? I've still got a month :( boo! Oh well, I suppose it will soon go. At least it's a nice time of year to be off and you can enjoy some of the good weather!

I really hope my baby comes a bit early, knowing my luck I'll go over again, if they let me. As baby is big I might need to be induced early but I don't really want that. Would rather baby decides to come early on it's own. As long as it's after 37 weeks I don't mind. I know it will be a good weight and I've had steroid injections anyway so there shouldn't be any issues.

Just found out SIL is pregnant with twins but OH doesn't really speak to her. Twins will be hard work!
