*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Here's hoping - there was a thread recently about heartburn that I saw, and someone recommended Rantidine tablets. Sounds like they make a big difference, if my heartburn gets to the next level then I would start taking that. See the thread here:

Aw Lucy - we are all in the same boat then! Swelling and general uncomfyness is on the up!!

Belfa, hope today wasn't as crap as yesterday.

Here's hoping, hope you are doing ok, glad you are trying to get back to normal now. Hope you sort the heartburn, I get reflux loads and tend to get by on gallons of gaviscon. I specifically asked for peppermint on prescription, aniseed is rank.

Colettypie I'll be washing everything, clothing and bedding wise, I've washed baby's bits for hospital bag, the rest I'll do when I finish work. Glad it's not just me feeling puffy.

Home now, elevating my feet trying to stop the throbbing. Glad to be home. There were too many managers today and as I was the only preggo lady in the office today I did not stop. Treated myself to a McDonald's at 11am haha...was starving. Needed to elevate my feet at work too so I sat at a different table out of sight and propped my feet when no one was around. Think I might get some trainers, seen some plain black or plain white Adidas style. all my other shoes/converse/pumps are uncomfortable. I need something with support, especially as I'll do a lot of walking once baby is here. Hubby home about 5.30, need a foot massage lol.

Latest in the work rant... So my boss moaned at me recently for having the flexibility that he offered me previously. Saying when I come back to work (3 days a week) I still need to come to the office 1.5 days a week (which is what I do currently as full time). He also made a point of saying I need to be contactable and need to do my work within business hours. Fair enough but he did say I could catch up in the evenings etc!

So I meet my replacement today and she tells me (she's only doing part time) that she can work any hours, any time. Oh and apparently he's told her that the (my) job is really basic and easy so it'll be easy to learn!

I got heartburn/reflux quite a lot with my first. They say it's if baby has lots of hair. I can't see how that is true but she did have an awful lot of hair when she arrived! I've not really suffered with it this time (thank god, I don't think I could take anymore) so if this baby comes out with very little hair maybe there is some truth in it!

I always wash everything for newborns because their skin is more delicate. Once DD got past the age of 1, I just put her in clothes off the hanger!

Actually I really need to sell a lot of DD's stuff, we kept everything that wasn't stained so have bags and bags of stuff. Some things have never been worn, some hardly. I tried ebay but no joy, not sure why. I'm thinking a nearly new sale will be the way to go but I'm not sure I'm up to that now or when I will be!

Well ladies I hope you're all well. Been for my appt at hospital today and BP was high with protein in the urine so I've had to stay in to be monitored and medicated. They've said baby is small too so I've got to have a growth scan tomorrow. So it's not been a great day for me!
Potentially though I'll be a May mummy as they were talking about not letting me go past 37 weeks if BP remained higher than normal so that'd mean I'd have baby in just over 4 weeks, eeekk!!!

Thanks coletteypie, I missed that post. Picked up my script today and gp has prescribed me 150 ranitidine twice daily. Really hope it makes a difference as im just miserable with it. Have u been prescribed it too?

Buggy my girl had a good head of hair too, but at this rate I must be having a hairy monkey its that bad lol.

Sorry to hear that emma, were u feeling ok otherwise? Im sure ur worrying but your in good hands. You could be the first june mummy to meet their baby then! 4 weeks doesn't seem long, are u near enough organised? x

Emmababy hope you are okay! That is crazy! Yeah... I thought charlie might be first but maybe someone will pip her to the post!!

No Heres hoping - my gp asked me to try and cope on peptac before he would consider prescribing me anything else :-(! But u don't need prescription for it, so if it does get worse then will just get myself some! It has been alright recently. I have ups and downs with it to be honest - same with my pelvis pain. Think is just all hormone related. so if surge in hormones then = bad day for me lol!

Am off to nice wee place near Gleneagles for the weekend :-)! Excited. Is my dad's 60th at my due date so we brought a wee weekend trip forward to celebrate. Weather looking nice so should be fun! Posh dinner at the Andrew Fairlie restaurant tonight. I imagine I will be gulping the gaviscon after ! Hope you all have a great weekend xx

Someone is defo welcome to going before me haha! I wanna prove Drs wrong and keep him in until my section :) avoiding emergency section if I can!! Xx

Wow Emma I hope your BP comes back down!

Great weather for a weekend away Coletteypie, my MIL's 60th is a couple of days after my due date and there's a family holiday when I'm 37 weeks up north - no one apart from thinks that's an issue or understands why I don't want to go??!

Buggy - what do you work as? Is there anyway you could set up freelance and offer him your services that way when you finish mat leave? That way you can maybe offer him a lesser rate and pick up some other clients to make the money up? x

Belfa I'm the Finance/Admin manager. I was thinking I could do some of the accountancy bits freelance, will have to wait and see. Don't want to put his nose out of joint too much because he's paying for me to study AAT.

Had another scan this morning. They say baby is about 5lbs so a good size.

I wouldn't want to go either! I'm sure you won't be feeling too comfortable and that's without the risk of labour kicking in!!

Had fab week at work, had my appraisal obs and got outstanding in my teaching so feels great to be leaving on a high!! Only two weeks left at school as my replacement will be teaching my lessons for the last week! Yay! X

Yeah Belfa I wouldn't be okay with going. I'm only an hour/50 mins from Glasgow if I needed to rush back. And also 33 weeks, not 37!!

I had a but of a sore head last night and woken up with it still there (I never get sore heads) :-/ plus my wee feet have swollen slightly. A making myself panic that it could be something sinister like pre eclampsia. Have taken some paracetamol. Is beautiful and sunny here so hopefully that will distract me. I would phone hospital if thought was really bad but I imagine they might ask me to come in to get checked but am away on this wee trip so can't really do it. Will be home tomorrow so can phone and check in themorning if isn't any better.

Buggy - crazy to think baby is 5lbs already!!

Anyone else getting tightenings/ braxton hicks more and more now? I get them over the course of the day but more so in the evening and since my stomach bug last weekend they seem to be more uncomfortable. Maybe I am still a little bit dehydrated.

5 1/2 weeks left at work for me though none are more than 4 days with apts and annual leave. I can't wait. X

I rung hospital for this, they told me to get into bed and raise my feet and literally rest! Take paracetamol and if the headache doesn't go then to call them back and go and be checked.

I had a bit of a scare last night, started with lots of pressure in my back and sharp pains in my pelvis coming and going. I was in work too! Got home and relaxed and I was ok. Not felt baby much tho today so need to keep an eye on that I think xx

Well DD was 10lb, I'm hoping this one will be a bit smaller, they shouldn't put on another 5lb in 7 weeks!? Fingers crossed!

I've had odd cramps, assume it must be BH but not too sure. You know when it's for real I guess so I'm not paying much attention until then! Can't wait though! Just over 7 weeks til baby and only 6 weeks of work

I keep reading how inaccurate growth scans are Buggy so hopefully they've got it wrong! Wonder why they do them when they seem to be wrong more often than not!

It's lovely and sunny here today so planning to send OH and DD out to do some gardening this afternoon so I can get on with my assignment. I'm getting really annoyed with myself because I've really slacked off with it but just can't get motivated!!

Can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by now. I've only got five weeks left at work but I only work three days a week and taking a few half days off so only got 13 working days left! And they still haven't found anyone to cover my leave!!

At least you're nearly done Nomad, let them worry about the cover!

We'll soon all have our babies, it goes so quick

I bet the scans are wrong but the wrong way so baby is probably bigger than they think. I dare say I'm on track for another whopper.... I'll have to go on a diet for the remainder I suppose but it'll be so hard!

I've just had a count up.. 30 working days left for me. Still, I'm happy with that :D
