*July 2018 Mummies*

Hey Laura, long time no see- sorry for the family drama. In the end, you mother will just have to come to terms with the fact that you need to do what's right for you guys now. Even if she stays unreasonable for a time and she can't understand, hopefully she'll come to in the future. I think the strangest thing about being about to become a mum for the first time for me is this growing sense that it's not just about me or me and my husband or even what my extended family want anymore. It's going to be our job to look after this tiny individual who can't look after himself yet and we are going to have to make decisions on what's best for him and what's best for us as a family. People who can't understand that would annoy the hell out of me, especially if it was coming from my own mother who should understand that better than anyone! But yeah I guess nobody is a perfect mother as it turns out! It's hard to know how much grace to have for someone that close who is acting out. I understand you not wanting to cut her off - she'll have her reasons for acting the way she is, even if they're stupid reasons. Hopefully when you move out, she'll be able to see that you guys are doing this for your own good and get over herself.

GG I was up all night with heartburn as well. Terrible! I literally keep a 500ml bottle of gaviscon next to my bed, ugh. Don't know what's going on. Although if there is anything to the hair theory, I already know our babes got curly hair, I could see loads of fuzz on the last scan photo at growth scan! Will try and show you guys..

I cannot wait for my bump to "drop". Baby is head down but it feels like so high up at the same time, as if his bum is right in my ribcage, my ribs are aching, and I feel so breathless so quick, especially lying down!

Girls I'm packing my hospital bags. I don't want to take loads of stuff like in a suitcase that I'm not going to use. How many changes of clothes do you guys think I need to take for baby? How many are you guys packing? And previous mums... How many maternity pads are you taking? Xxxx

Also thanks everyone for the encouragements about getting signed off. The nesting has just reached an all time high. Level: Maternity Leave.

The little lady is growing nicely, slightly below 50th centile which is great news! Current est weight 5lbs. She is also head down.

Spoke to consultant (new lady again... different one every time) but she had more to say in terms of my options and all in all she gave me more information than the other two combined!

She says that all odds are in my favor for vaginal delivery; baby is growing below 50th centile and this is my 2nd labour which is meant to be easier. I would be induced week 39 and given epidural.

Having another scan at 38 weeks and if DD is still on 50th cent I will opt for vaginal delivery.

Feeling more confident now x

Here he is looking over his shoulder

Aw lovely pic Janeyjan! Sorry you're suffering heartburn, but honestly those that are try and get some ranitidine or omeprazole. I suffer horrendous acid reflux and would be taking gaviscon hourly but thankfully now I just need it twice a day

Glad you've had such a good appointment khtw! You must have so much going on in your head with all the to'ing and fro'ing between c-sec and vaginal deliveries. I'm glad plans are starting to form though

Laura I feel for your mum a bit as she's had a tough time with her husband controlling her and will take time for her to change her attitude. Why has he not left if she asked for a divorce? Ultimately you need to do what's best for you and your little one

Not much to report here. My BH are still coming a lot but have calmed down a bit since monday/Tuesday. I didnt bother ringing anyone, husband and I agreed it was either the start of labour or it wasn't and I'd obviously get more signs if it had of been. Even the smallest movement from me sets one off atm which is annoying. I've been taking my raspberry leaf capsules the last two days as I was a bit scared to before then, also been sitting on my ball on an evening while I watch TV which I think is helping my hips

Someone mentioned hospital bags, I've got 4 sleeveless vests and 4 sleepsuits for baby. And I've packed 20 maternity pads to be safe, I was given 1 last time and no more so I'm just being extra cautious although I highly doubt I'll need them

Shan, my baby box is arriving on the 1st, just got a text yay :)

Great you still might be able to have vaginal delivery KH.

Ohh it might be your body preparing for labour soon tho Shep, apparently they get worse close to labour.
I've been getting pain in my.lower back, feels very much the same pain as when i went into labor with dd, I assume they're BH and gonna have back labour again. Getting bad period pain last few days to.
Saw midwife today, everything is great, baby head rquite low when she felt. Officially in the fortnightly checks now. Next is 14th and hopefully the last!!! 36w app was last for dd. Its scarey how close we are. I feel like I have months aha

It feels like an age to me!! Every single week is dragging more and more haha. I feel like I've been 30 something weeks for the whole pregnancy it's dragging that much! Probably from being off work and not really being able to get up to much, definitely making every penny I've spent on Netflix worth it recently haha.

Janeyjan lovely pic :) and hospital bag I've packed 4 vests and 4 sleepsuits in first size (up to 9lbs) and also 0-3. Also a going home outfit in both sizes. A blanket. Hats, scratch mits, muslin.. Don't think I've packed anything else clothes wise. Although my sister did say to pack a Teddy and blanket for the bounty photoshoot x

I see, most people going for 3-4 changes. Better pack more then! In my head, I'm hoping I won't be in for long but I guess you never know!

Aww cute pic Janey! I think he may have loads of nice hair!

I haven't packed my bag yet!?!?!?!?!?!?!? But will probably stick 4 sets of cloths in (and probably use max 2), hats, mittens, blanket, socks and small formula bottles in case I am struggling to feed like last time (this time I am determined to ask for help A LOT). I will also pack dummies and the gift baby is giving her big sister!!!

For myself I am packing 2 changes of clothes, slippers, bathrobe, towel, pads (10+), shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush and paste, spritz for bits (once bought!), granny knickers, socks, PJs x 2 and snacks. And a gift baby is giving to Daddy (a mug). I am probably forgetting something! x

I've packed 1set of clothes for me (they're pjs, but looks like jogging bottoms ans plain top). 1 nightie, 1 pjs, pads, shower stuff, nipple cream, breast pads.
For baby I've got 3 baby gros, 3 vets, 1 outfit for the bounty pics, cardigan (just incase it's chilly when we come home, blanket, nappies, wipes.

KHTW lol got the text today as well for tomorrow , was going to tell you too haha. That's great news about baby. I'm glad appointment was positive and fx for the 38 week scan. I'm just wishing you a positive delivery whichever way she comes. xx

JaneyJan fab scan pic! I'd take 3-4 changes. Hubby can always bring more if you're kept in. As for pads they do supply you in the hospital and they're way better. So I'd take maybe around 3-4 packs? and use the hospital ones. Also take them home if you can. But again oh can always bring more if you're in overnight or a day or so. Xx

PB good news appointment went well. My next one is next Wednesday at 36 weeks which seems insane to me! Where has the time went?! I may ask for a scan though I doubt I'd get one. Told oh I wanted to pay private for a scan but he thinks I'm being dramatic and stressing over nothing. Likes to joke she's huge when he feels her though, the fucker. She's not coming out of him! xx

Shep ooh could totally be you getting ready soon, you're the furthest on out of all of us. I'm taking the tea now but my bh have pretty much disappeared now, not sure what that means, probably that I'm going over haha xx

Laura it's completely up to you. I hope whichever decision you make, is the right decision for your new family. You never know the baby could be the making of your mum. My mum completely changed when Ivy came along, like she was her 2nd chance. It didn't last unfortunately but you never know. Just make youself happy whatever you do xx

Sounds like a great appointment KHTW! Glad things went well.

I'm glad you're talking about hospital bags. I'm getting mine together and had completely forgotten to put clothes in it for me for the outside world haha. It only includes PJs at the moment. I bought a large pack of maternity pads and a pack of thick night pads. If I need more I'm going to send hubby out to get some (he'll probably not know what he's looking for and come back with pantyliners or something :wall2:).

I wasn't sure about how much to put in for baby but you girls have given me a rough idea, thanks.

Do I need to take bottles in case I can't breastfeed? I just assumed the hospital would help out with that if need be.

Mala depends on your hospital. I had a scan done for a possible blood clot with Ivy and had to stop breastfeeding for 12 or 18 hours (can't remember which) with the meds they gave me for it. So I expressed beforehand and they topped her up with formula when I was away. They didn't make a big deal of it at all. But one of us said their hospital doesn't give formula at all (I think it was KHTW or PB)

To be honest if you're really set on breastfeeding, I'd not bring the bottles. It's sooo tempting to give the ready made formula when you're tired, sore, and struggling to latch, especially at the start. With the hospital at least you can get loads of help latching every time you need it. But it's totally your choice!

Also loads of women leave in their pjs lol. I did. I brought clothes, but with the stitches and everything,I was like fk it lol. It was dark though! OH had to buy me pads last time once we were home a few times. I literally googled it, screenshotted it on his phone so he didn't come back with some rubbish haha. Xx

Thanks Shan. I'll have a think about it. I've still to actually buy some formula, just in case, so should probably do that. My idea was to breastfeed for the first six weeks or so then go to mixed then only bottles. I know it may turn out totally different in practice though!

Haha, the screenshot is a great idea. Hubby can't go wrong with that.

Hoping that didn't come across in the wrong way. Like I'm telling you what to do, it's just my opinion from my own experience hun. I switched over in the end despite wanting to continue bfing so I really can't say anything.. xx

No, not at all! I'm pretty easy over the whole bottle feeding/breast feeding thing either way and I'll just see how it goes.

I'm planning not to take formula or bottles, I don't want to be tempted to give up. I'm hoping I can BF but I am completely open minded and understanding that it doesn't always work out that way! X

I'm gonna try and BF again... But if i have enough just gonna switch. With dd she was on my boob all the time and still wasn't putting weight on at 3/5 day checks. So I combi fed for a week and then got that infection can't remember the name starts with M, my nipples were in the worst pain I've ever felt. Sent hubby to asda at 3am to get numbing cream.
Why is something to normal so hard. BFing so so much easier when out and about tho... Never have to remember to take ya titties xD

Mastitis PB? I got that on one side and omfg it's the worst pain. Sent OH to buy some Lansinoh (never heard of it and hv told me) and he came back with anusol. :wall: Cause they sound the same apparently. I'm pretty determined this time but if it doesn't work, or doesn't last long, ill hopefully not be as devastated. Literally sobbed over dds formula when I gave up. Crazy what hormones can do to you! Xx
