Fela ohh I hate all the baby washing and ironing lol. But well done you xx

KHTW we had a quick look before OH went to work this afternoon. He was like "oh look at this, look at that, did you know they had this/ that. Despite me telling him like five times what would be in it! Forgot it had condoms and had to take them off of dd. She was asking me what they were, she thought it was some sweets haha  xx

PB how are you? Fx baby isn't playing you up still!! Xx

Okay question. This "summer baby after having a winter baby" thing is still throwing me.

Do we need to buy hats? I bought a summer hat but am I buying newborn hats or no? I saw a baby at nursery last week & he was wearing one of those wool hats with the huge oversized pom pom on top. Super cute but I thought surely too hot for it?

Lol Shan, men always pay attention to what we say right? :D And condoms haha why why why dothey even bother putting them in there?! Like really...! Poor DD was probably disapointed that these were no sweets!

I have a couple of very thin hats that also cover their little ears. 100% cotton. Defo won't be putting a wooly hat on her head! A wooly cardigan maybe if it's cold x My manager's wife knitted a couple of the cutest newborn cardigans for the baby, will post pics later x

Hi ladies! What are your weekend plans?

GG glad baby is giving you a kicking today in a good way! And hope things are good with you PB if you got checked or not.

Haha condoms in your baby boxes! That's so funny.

Shan I have a couple of thin hats as people seemed to suggest I might need them in the first few days while baby adjusts to the temperature of the outside world.

Shan yes, midwife was talking about it last night actually as so many summer mums don't bother and clueless dads have to run out shopping, lol

Hi all

Shanivy you might want a cotton hat for the first few days but then you won't need anything. DD was may born and midwife told me not to bother when she visited us on day 5

Hope everyone is well, sorry a couple of you have had reduced movement, PB I hope baby is moving more now

I'm dying in the heat feels strange buying those little hats. I seen some lovely cotton ones in mothercare, should of just bought them  Winter babies are easier!! I feel like a first timer

Lol KH she didn't believe me they weren't sweets because I don't let her have hard sweets like fruit pastilles etc. She was like "you just won't let me have them" Thankfully she was easily distracted with the rest of the stuff. OH was delighted though, I've still not decided what to do about contraception so he's at lest sure he's getting sex 6 times after baby haha xx

Look at this... how cute?! Kinda hoping its cold enough outside tgat she can wear it on way from hospital

Hope these babies are doing okay and moving around lots! Mine is kicking and streeeeetching loads, head down and feet in my right ribs and hands in my right hip area. It's so weird. He seems to be stretching so much at the minute and he'll just keep his legs out for almost a minute - it feels very weird. Also, I think we're having a growth spurt, I can barely catch my breath, my uterus feels like its right under my breasts and almost pushing them up! Geez!
You guys are all ahead of me it feels like - does this feeling go away... when does the drop happen? I can't wait for that so I can breathe again, lol.

Amy I'm also thinking about lack of routine. Been doing loads of cleaning/nesting ... our lodger just moved out today and its amazing having the house back to ourselves but ugh so much moving around, flatpack building to do etc. So this weekend will be lots of work I think..

I'm thinking of pampering myself next week - mani/pedi. (Nurses don't get to have nails, and I can't wait to have some acrylics done!) Anyone else? Also I think I need to build myself a routine and see some friends finally!

Its so exciting. Technically, being due on the 25th July, baby *could* be born in August, but hopeful that he arrives next month! 7 weeks and 2 days left! Can't wait...

Also, I've bought 2 hats and been given about 3 more. Thankfully they're all really thin cotton ones - I'll just take two to hospital - they're so tiny... But yeah I don't think he'll really need them for long.

Also not buying any formula. Just got two little bottles (x2 slow flow and x2 med flow teats), breast pump, and thaaaat's about it... Hoping to make BF work, but prepared that it might be difficult! Good luck to us all!

Janey, I hate to break it to you, but I've had a head and or feet so fucking far up under my ribs for about 5 weeks now, I have forgotten what normal breathing is like. It feels like a constant overinflated balloon is lodged under my ribs, especially under my right boob and almost like baby is trying to break out of there. I've had no let up and am now 35+2.

All I can advise is comfy bras, no underwire and as soon as you can take it off, do! Small regular meals help a bit but really, there's not much relief that I've found.

At least you know he's in tip top shape giving you grief like that, lol

Aw that's beautiful! Handmade things are so special

Janeyjan lots of babies don't drop and engage until after 37 weeks. At my last check my babys head was very low, midwife was sure she'd start engaging at 37 weeks. But even though I can tell she's low down she still kicks at my boobs.it's so weird once you're holding them and you see the length, I could never figure out how dd fit inside me haha

Quiet weekend planned here, husband has a busy one with sheep work and has some staff in so I'll be making their lunch and might make them a cake with dd. Really could do with husband going into the loft to get our bouncy chair down and whatever other baby stuff is in there. I've lost my microwave steriliser, I wanted to give me breast pump a clean just in case I need it if for some reason she can't latch (highly unlikely I know) so I'm hoping that's in the loft to.

Question for those of you with next to me cribs... so I bought one, after weeks of hinting to my SIL which she didn't take I bought one new. After it came she then volunteered hers so I've sent mine back. I want to buy a new mattress for it, do the ones that come with the next to me come out easy enough? My SIL seemed to suggest the mattress was "built in"

Ours came out right away, no fuss x

Morning girls :) I feel good today. I'm really sore after yesterday, being out all day, but not long woke up with Ivy still asleep...I got a lie in! Probably the first and last time until forever lol. Just laying in bed waiting on her waking up. She always wakes up by coming in and pulling my top up to feel the baby

JaneyJan you sound a lot happier now hun. For a first time mum baby might not drop until you're about to go into labour. With Ivy I remember she was went from 4/5 to 2/5 (or its the other way around I can't remember) I wasn't pleased lol. Though I think that was after 36 weeks? It all depends on baby. Enjoy your time off while you can though! Xx

Shep ooh I could go cake! Thanks for that dd will be thrilled lol. And yes mattress definitely comes out easily. They're seperate in the box and you put the mattress in. I built mine up and haven't put mattress in it yet. Xx

Morning ladies. Not too bad a nights sleep last night but think Thursday nights 2.5 hours is catching up on me a bit. Lots to do today but I'm feeling very much up for it as by the end of the weekend, I want the house sorted so all I have left is maintaining it. We moved from quite a big 4 bed detached into this little 2 bed bungalow, so it is quite a struggle getting anywhere at the moment as the baby things are starting to fill it up. The front garden is full of stuff to go to the tip that I sorted yesterday and I have a load more to go out there, so Dan is going to have fun later, lol.

Parents are coming down this afternoon and hopefully I'll get time to go shopping with my mum to finish getting what we need for my hospital bag. Be good to have that ready to go at last.

Any nice plans for you lot?

And PB. How are you doing today? Baby woken up now?

It's too fucking hot

PB how's things? Xx
