*July 2018 Mummies*

God knows what I'll do when oh goes back into work. He's been more helpful the last two days than he's been ever lol. Ivy is older so at least she's a bit more independent than if she was a little younger. But still, if Im still having issues with the feeding it will certainly be interesting! Maybe he could quit his job, we don't need money to live right? Xx

Hahahaha. I was absolutely shattered when hubby went back to work. I barley get any cleaning done now... House is a right mess.
Dd has got very jealous!!! Constantly wants to be held... Wants to be fed like a baby again (she can feed herself the bottle)... Will not look at you if your holding the baby, or will be all over you if you have him nothing inbetween... Shes decided daddy is her favorite now, only wants him for bedtime, when she's hurt herself and just always tries to get ti him if I'm holding her :( had a few cries over it (she only ever wanted me for that stuff.

Day 4 of induction. I don't know if I can take another knock back today. Praying with my heart and soul that there's a bed today and soon!

Oh JemRose I'm sorry it's taking so long. So did they not break your waters?

I've had a decent night here, baby slept from 1030-215 which was amazing and I think I got a few 30min stretches after that. She's very gassy today though bless her. I put some infacol on my tesco order just in case and I'm glad I did now

Bless you PB that must be tough with dd, it won't last forever though

Hopefully something happens today Jem.

Shep that's a great stretch of sleep for you. That's more than I get in one go atm with all the bathroom trips I need in the middle of the night! Glad things are going well for you.

To top off my fab third trimester of being uncomfortable and having lots of heartburn I think I'm now suffering carpal tunnel syndrome. I'll wake up to pee in the middle of the night and if I've been lying on my right side the fingers in my right hand are sore when I try to bend them, and the same if I've been on my left. Gah pregnancy really fucks with your body!

Thank you summerwine!
Haha we're very active on this thread. Have you had your baby yet? X

Nope, nothing yet... I was starting to wonder if I’d be the only person on PF having a July baby
At least I sort of feel justified for nosing on the July thread now! Definitely should have amalgamated - hindsight is wonderful isn’t it?!

lol welcome to July mummies hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too much. What was your due date? xx

Haha thanks! It was 22nd June. Can’t be much longer now!

Jem I cannot believe they are dragging your induction out like this. I hope they get a bed etc sorted for you soon to get things going.

Aw hun I hope the jealous stage doesnt last too long. I'm sure wanting daddy won't last either. Maybe get him to take ds so you can take dd out by yourself a few times. They sure know how to play us don't they? Hugs. I don't know how you're doing it honestly you must be a supermum xx

Malagueta - I’ve been getting carpal tunnel in my hands too! It’s awful isn’t it? I’m gettin* it in both!

Oh PB that must be so difficult especially when she was such a mummies girl. It will pass i am sure. Hubby must be pretty pleased with all that attention?

Fela, Mala sorry about pain in your hands, hopefully it will go away soon x

This is going to sound really odd, but bear with me...

Think of this as purely behavioural animal instinct. In all domesticated animals, the first and most productive method to modify the behaviour is to make the focus of jealously a pleasurable thing.

Try to make her being with you pleasurable in the most basic way...treats. Give her something she wants as incentive/reward for being with you and baby.

Reggie Raymond Simon Vaughan was born last night at 11.03pm weighing 7lb 12oz. I'm so in love but petrified at the same time!

So happy for you Jem and please don't be scared. I found the midwives on the post birth ward to be absolutely bloody wonderful so I hope you get the same at last.

Is there anything in particular you're worried about? If there is, say, but remember to expect the full gamut of emotions to flood over you in the next few days.

And most important to remember... you'll be absolutely fine. You're a mummy now. Xxx

Congrats again Jem. Fab news baby finally showed up. Everyone feels petrified with their first but nobody can look after him like you can xx

What a morning. Had my bf councillor here for three hours! Amelia was just not latching at all. And she saw her feeding fine the other day so today when she came out she brought a me a medela pump and was like "right lets express some then we're gonna get her on fine"

But three hours later, three different nipple shields, a dozen positions later she was like what the fuck. I'm expressing now just to keep up my milk and then trying her on again. She's just taken a dislike to being at the breast all of a sudden but she's desperate to get on until like she actually does. She's coming out again tomorrow morning and until I can feed her. Stressful but now at least I know it's definitely not what I'm doing or that Amelia can't do something.

Hope you're all getting on okay xx

We are having a boy!

I’m glad you’re getting the help needed with breastfeeding. I’m paying lots of attention to the ladies breastfeeding on here as I would so like to give it a go - it sounds difficult though!!!

Aw fab hope he makes an appearance soon!

Thank you. I think it just depends on the baby and the woman, some people sail through and others need that extra help. .We're muddling through at the minute.

Best advice I'd probably have is look up the positions and maybe practice on a doll. Sounds stupid since they look easy enough but once you have a baby wanting fed it can be a little stressful trying to correct them. I'm sure you'll do fine though! Xx

Congratulations JemRose! About time he got here, how are you?

Sorry that the breast feeding isn't coming easy shanivy but good for you for sticking with it! Has she checked for tongue tie?

All okay here, I'm shattered but happy. I manage to get a good sleep 10-1/2 but after that she's up and down so much feeding, it's so much tougher when youve got another child to. Midwife was out today for the 5 day check, baby has gained weight which I'm super happy with, I was sure she'd have lost. The heel prick took ages as baby's blood was clotting so well, I'd forgotten to give her the vitamin k yesterday so I'm glad she's not suffered for it.

DD1 is doing well, she loves "being helpful", she helps me wind baby and change the nappy and she wants to help bath her tonight, as awful as it sounds I am looking forward to her going to the nusery tomorrow as she's quite suffocating and I'd love a midmorning nap. But I am so proud of her
