****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

Laura, utis are common in pregnancy I've had 3 already and still waiting to see if I have another. It's so annoying. If your having sex, pee before and straight after helps prevent them.

This nausea is horrible, I keep eating which helps but I'm gonna get so fat if i carry on, put on 2 stone with dd was hoping to only gain the weight of babe this time lol.
Pickle onion monster munch is my go to atm aha

they're so uncomfortable though haha is there anything we can do to try to prevent them? other than the peeing before and after sex bit haha tbh we haven't been having sex cuz im feeling so rough haha xx

I really didn't like pregnancy, low blood pressure made me unable to stand up in the same place for longer than a few seconds (this ones worse!) . I was on bed rest from 12 - 16 weeks because I had a bleed right next to baby (went away). I was in hospital once a week because baby didn't move. I went in for pain at 24 weeks and they admitted me because they thought I was going into labour... Then they kept telling me I would have a very big baby (10+lbs) and my final scan there was too much fluid around the baby, so I had to take my blood sugar before and after every meal which showed I had GD. So the final time I went in with no movement and serious back pain, and bleeding, they was going to induce me that night but turns out the blood was my bloody show and i was in labour myself which was what the back pain was. Was all worth it though and I'm happy to do it all over again to get another baby aha. Hoping this ones more active though. X

Oh wow that sounds really tough! really hoping you have a better experience this time!

I've been having every problem under the sun so far, had to leave another urine test into the GP today and think I might be getting a UTI :( not great!

Hope some of you ladies are feeling a bit better today! xx

Ooh not nice but like PB says they're common. I had one at the start and they freaked me out by asking me to come in asap and I was like "oh fuck what is it" Ended up turning into a kidney infection. It antibiotics and it was fine xx

I feel like theyre doing the opposite. everything is very much chill and i keep giving in urine samples and not getting results and never hearing things back. xx

Don't know if I mentioned it in here but we ordered a moses basket and now we are super excited :D xx

How exciting Laura :) we've got our Silver Cross travel system £10 bargain from eBay. We've been given a cot and just found a baby bath going for free on Facebook so getting that too.

I'm getting some things brand new, but I just think not everything has to be expensive. Getting exciting to know we've got such big bits and bobs for the baby and for not very much money that it makes it all so exciting.

I think you're probably feeling similar to me Laura, as in I know that I don't want to be in the tiny 1 bed flat we're in with the baby. Once we are in our home and move to somewhere I can see myself bringing the baby up, I can't get too excited because I would love to get the baby's room sorted and allsorts. I expect you feel the same if not worse than me with that one, having been living at your mums. Hope that's all going okay now x

This is a very good approach, otherwise you can spend a small fortune. With DD we bought everything brand new and by the time we were done we would've probably spend around £2k on things if not more!!!

This time around we won't be doing that because we simply don't have the money!

Is anyone else doing cord blood banking for the baby? We did for DD so it's only fair we do it again for this baby, can't decide which company to go with this time. Because of the difficult birth with DD the blood sample got contaminated and it is really only half good! But the same company was hired by a friend of mine and they ended up taking too small a sample to count!! So they lost the cord blood sample all together. I wonder if this is a coincidence or perhaps the people are crap at their job?! It costs a lot of money so I need to make the right call... x

They take away blood sample from baby's cord and store cells for 25 years. Touch wood if your baby gets seriously ill, they can use them for treatment instead of you waiting for a donor x

Don't forget you need a new mattress for cots/cribs/moses baskets.
We have everything, was so expensive for dd, we got given alot and people bought stuff for us, and gave us money. We all spend loads. It's the car seat that was the most expensive cos we bought one with the seat and the bottom attachment, so haven't gotta use seatbelt all the time also much safer.

We got a Silver Cross travel system in a sale but not for £10 hahaha :D i'm sure its beautiful and even more so for being £10! that's fantastic!!! haha We don't really have anyone close to us or in the family who have babies or young children so not able to borrow beg or steal off them although we would love to! So far we have the silvercross travel system and car seat, the tommee tippee perfect prep kit which came with bottles and the steriliser kit and now our moses basket :D feeling much more prepared! been cot shopping but cant make up our minds especially with such limited space- each time we see one we like it doesnt fit!!

I'd give anything to even be in a 1 bed flat tbh, I know its different for everyone but at least then id have a kitchen and living room and a bathroom to use in peace. We literally live out of one bedroom and there are 6 of us in total with 6 dogs and a cat. You can never get into the bathroom, my mum is always in the house and is really hard to be around as she never stops being negative and moaning and complaining so the living room is kinda out, then my dad grumps and drinks alcohol all night in the kitchen and makes you feel uncomfortable if you try to cook. he also gets angry if you go in the kitchen when hes wanting to be alone so we have taken to keep glasses and drinks in our room and wee snacks so if we are starving we have a back up haha like he fully screams and tantrums at you and its awful.. :(

I bet you are just like me too though in that id love to have an actual nursery space to be able to decorate and fill with cute things and know my baby had its wee safe "base" Dying to have our own place to just feel at ease and know that our baby will be in a happy household even if squished haha xx

That's really interesting to know, I'd never heard of that before! haha I feel like there is so much you have to think about! xx

We got that too, the isofix base? you just click it in and click out! :D seemed best cuz we actually only have a 3 door car and cant really afford to change it. so its going to be bad enough climbing about into the back seats without having to strap a seatbelt in all the time! and in sunny Northern Ireland? haha it'll be raining probably constantly!

Ladies cosatto has offers on, free car seat and adaptors when you buy a pram in any pattern. Basically save 200 quid x

That's the one couldnt remember the name! We got out of kiddie care, this was 300 for base, the carseat then we got the older seat to which is aged up to six so saved us a few pounds in the future.

Yep I've heard that a mattress is really the only thing needed brand new. Which I'm more than happy to get :)

Nice haha you've planned ahead, we just have the size 0 (?) age one...simplicity car seat. I think its from birth til like...some time hahaha

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it for £10 and it literally looks never used so even better :)

Unfortunately because my sister (2nd baby) and brother (3rd baby) are also having a baby and due within weeks of me, I don't have the option of second hand or anything handed down either. Which is a right pain as they both got that with theirs lol. So that's why I'm trying to cheap everything down and then we can focus more money on the important bits.

Yeah I thought things are much harder for you living out of one bedroom but I agree with wanted the baby to have it's own space. I don't feel like the flat is my home at all as OH has lived in it for 10 years and I've tried to put my spin on it but it's not worked at all lol. 10 years worth of living is a lot to try and stamp out!

Have you applied for council housing at all or are you saving to buy? x

Yeah, from birth, dd hates her car seat cos she can't sit up, can't wait to put her in the next one. I think it's till 11-12months well I hope so or I have to buy another baby seat for 1 month aha. X

Aw that sucks, but (and this might just be me) at least you dont "owe" anybody anything. My family don't really give things for free...like maybe financially free but emotionally theres a cost haha my mum would buy something to help but she will make sure you know she helped for the next 10 years if you know what I mean. hahaha and she'll make sure everyone knows she helped and make sure she gets credit for buying it!

That's tough moving into an established flat which is essentially his flat. I know id struggle to feel like its equally "ours" and not "his but i also live here" haha are you currently flat hunting?

We are currently saving to buy, my mum said we could stay here to save on rent but then in true fashion has made sure we are aware every single minute of every single day the kindness she has done for us. She likes to remind us daily we live rent free and in her house and makes u feel like an infestation that she's waiting to stamp out then she will finally get "her bedroom" back (literally never been her bedroom in the 15 years they've owned the house) cuz shes decided once we leave that shes changing bedrooms so this will be her room. So then it's like we are the inconvenience that shes waiting to bugger off so she can get on with her life haha its complicated! and a nightmare! xx

The baby car seat ages perplex me haha although to be fair I haven't spent that long trying to figure them out! haha xx
