aw PB you'll wish she couldn't crawl once she starts haha
yeah no way I'm buying DD a pony. I'm planning on getting some pigs in a few years as a project for the girls but no horses. it's an expensive hobby and im such a worrier id be terrified theyd fall. plus MIL may as well get one. she's got 5 grandkids and BIL and I have both said to get one as a Xmas present for them all. we'd all muck in on our visits
Absolutely MIL should get the pony. Honestly, if you have the land, they're really not expensive to keep. Little native ponies live on fresh air and don't need shoes. £20 every 6-8 weeks for hoof trimming, maybe a little hay in the winter. Honestly, we have 6 horses that are ours at the moment and on average, between 6 of them, they cost me less than £100 a month as they live here and live out so no bedding or hard feed costs. I keep a little aside to cover any vet bills but they are very rare. It's a bit like babies...you coukd go and spend £3.5k on a saddle or you can pick one up 2nd hand for under £100. The horse doesn t give a shit so ling as it fits lol.
Re stomach muscles, yep...that s what horses do. Super strong core and I'm hoping it will help it snap back into place afterwards. People go mad when they see me lift things but really, I know what my limits are. I just don't think people understand how much strength I have in my arms and legs. I have stopped lifting anything over 15kg now though so Dan helps me with the 25kg sacks of potatoes for the pub, lol. I also only half fill the water trugs now and top them up with a little bucket as they're awkward to carry. Feel physically on top form though. It's just my left hip/pelvis/leg but I've kind of accepted the pain now. When it's bad, I can hardly move...so I don't. Lol.
