I'm okay thanks shan. It's OH who isn't. He's put a downer on the whole day and is really disappointed. Tried to be upbeat and happy and look at baby clothes but he just kept going off to the girls clothes and wouldn't participate. I hope he comes round soon as we are having a boy and nothing we can do about that. I'm just happy it's a healthy baby who is growing perfectly.
Obviously I have a tiny bit of disappointment in my heart as I was desperate for a girl. But I'm having a boy and he will be so loved. Just wish OH would stop being negative about it x

I thought not hearing from you very much today meant something was up. I hope he wises up a little for you. There's no point him looking at girls stuff and bringing you down.

Hopefully once you start picking tiny little baby boy things you'll both start to feel more connected. Don't feel bad. And it's wonderful he's perfectly healthy after you worrying he wouldn't be. I know you don't know the feeling yet, but I swear the minute you meet him you'll be so so in love you won't know how to even explain it. Xx

Anyway here is my little pot bellied monkey belly bigger than his head. Very very lazy and comfortable being squashed up right at the bottom of my uterus haha, he has plenty of room above him but likes to be there. Wouldn't move for the sonographer at all no matter how much shaking and jumping about I did!
He is growing perfectly and actually slightly below average on the scale so I'm extremely happy. Hopefully he will continue to grow at this rate and I won't have to even entertain a csection

Jem...remind him that having a boy means having a son to carry on his family name. He'll come around. When more people find out, he'll start to get excited but until then, tell him to keep his disappointment to himself.

You'll totally forget this when he's laid on your chest as a newborn. Don't feel bad, you wanted a girl, it's natural to feel disappointment but it won't last.

Oh i hope he gets over it soon for your sake. No point looking at girl stuff when your having a boy. Im glad you feel ok about it though and your baby is doing great x

Sorry to jump in on this thread but just had to say about the disappointment about gender. I had my 3rd boy in May 2016 and I was so gutted, for a million reasons but I can honestly say now he is nearly 2 years old I wouldn't change it for the world now as he is just amazing. I really hope your husband isn't upset for too long Jem, I know I was for quite a long time during the pregnancy. But one issue I had was him getting only hand me downs from his two brothers so I sold a load of clothes and brought new for him.

Also can I ask why they think you are high risk for a big baby? I had issues in my 1st pregnancy due to a high BMI and had extra growth scans. He was born at 41+3weeks and was just 7lbs 1oz and on the 7th centile. So was in no way big like they thought. I did have an emergency c section but that was because he got into distress and his heart rate dropped to 50bpm. He was back to back and he was looking up rather than chin tucked in so no chance of coming out naturally xx

I hope that happens hun. My previous post still stands although for OH instead of you. My fingers are crossed that a section isn't an issue at all. I know bmi can mean big baby but not necessarily. Plenty have a vaginal birth with no problems. Beautiful little scan pictures! Xx

Just noticed on my measurement sheet is says, placenta: anterior, structure normal

But she did show me my placenta and said its normal bla bla bla and didn't mention anything about it being anterior

Thank you kanga. Yes high risk for bmi but baby is growing perfectly and hope he continues to do so. They said that they will treat my pregnancy as if all the risks will happen in order to prevent it or something.

I know when we hold him in our arms everything will feel just perfect

Jem Maybe why you've not felt a lot. Dd was anterior and by about 23/24 weeks I felt her fine. Oh felt her at 24 weeks too I think so doesn't make much difference in the end xx

Is it not a big deal to be anterior then which is why they didn't mention it? Yeah does make sense why I'm not feeling anything! X

I'm anterior too Jem and I did say a few days ago it could be a likely explanation for you. It's really really common. Only thing they will check closer to birth is that it is still high up as if it drops down by the uterus you can't then have a natural birth and would need a c section but if it's fine now....chances are it will stay that way.

The feelings I'm getting are more pronounced now so I'm sure they will be for too soon enough. Only a few weeks and we'll be feeling it all as Well, just at the sides not the front so much.xx

Jem dw aboit being told about big baby, all the way through with dd they was worried about her size she was measuring 2 weeks bigger and said shed be a 10lba. She was 8lbs 7. Not huge at all. Make sure they keep an eye on the fluid around baby, dd had huge belly bigger than head and i had GD but test was neg, they found out my measuring fluid at 37 weeks. X
Am i the last one for scan? On fri x

I've had loads of feeling this evening in work. Sat down with Dan to eat at 8.30 as it was a quiet night and baby was going mad. Think it was doing the riverdance in there, lol. All big feelings to the sides and down low as you say but I can also feel muted movements, like wavy feelings in the middle as well.

It's been really nice feeling more than before x

That's the way DD was too. Down low and sides. Later on she could kick things of my stomach right where my placenta was and I could feel through it sometimes too. Xx

Hahaaa, I can't wait for that. It really is on one this evening. Just come to bed as been a bit of a late one but it's weird how much change there is in how much I'm feeling from even yesterday to today.
