***July 2016 trimester 2***

It's such a huge thing I don't think you should compromise if that's what you want.

We're team blue! Xxx

Yay, another baby boy, how exciting :-)
I would love to be able to have a home birth :-( xx

Hi unicorn the bleeding has stopped for now. I saw a doctor and the said it was likely to be cause by my erosion on my cervix.

In my experience with birthing centres they are usually next to the labour wards! Or on the next floor. When I was having Eva I started off in the birthing pool in the birthing centre and when things started going wrong it was a quick call to the delivery suit and I was there in less than a minute. I had a room full of doctors and midwifes in under 2 mins! From what hubby says it was all well organised. I don't remember any of the birth from this point! I've always had a birth centre birth. My first two were water births! I would recommend a birth centre!

Yeeey congrats Lou!! remember i was eager to find out your sex so that i can determine mine as our scan pics are so similar?. i really want a girl though :-( .. 3 weeks till i find out.

thanks all for the advice, yes you are right Oxford, i pay 40% tax and deserve my hospital birth! The pressure is just too much though! have you experienced this Phoenix (as you are on bby 3 aswell). if i cave i will just go for birthing centre :-( .

ohh and thanks for the recommendation Charliebump; apparently our birthing centre is on the 1st floor and labour ward on the 3rd. so yes, i would feel at ease, atleast i'd be in a hospital.

They are also able to discharge you quicker too! The birth centre at my hospital has a pool and a double bed in so you hubby and baby can have a snuggle x beats hubby being sent away x

I've had a hideous day x I've managed to get myself into such a state I was sobbing. I am so anxious about having another c section, I didn't sleep well because of nightmares about having the baby. Then to top it off I've been told I have group b strep! I am so upset it just seems like everything is going wrong x

Hello everyone! I see you are all talking about a 16 week appointment? Is a 16 wk appointment normal? I've not been seen since my 12 week scan and have my 20 week one tomorrow which I'm excited and anxious about! I feel totally left to get on with things the past 8 weeks which have seemed sooooo long xx

Oh... not really lol.

When I had my booking in appointment one of the first things the midwife said to me was if I wanted a home birth, nearly fell over from the shock lol.
I said yes though, I do want a home birth. I actually can't think of anything worse than going into hospital to have it. Done that twice before and would rather stay home this time.

I'm a bit different though as I was induced due to obstetric cholestasis with both my older kids.
This time round if I get it again they will want me to have it in hospital but I'd really rather not. My labours/births went really well with my older kids so I'm not at all worried about having a home birth.

*hug* Charliebump; and the pregnancy hormones probably aren't helping. Just try and take it easy and talk about your fears with close people and people who have had a similar experience. You will be ok :-) .. we will all be after July, everything we are going through will all be worth it.

i was in tears over work aswell, i was really being picked on by a colleague based in the Nordics, luckily i had everyone's support (colleagues and my manager etc.) but it was such a hard time for me and my lower tummy really started hurting as a result :-O ; that's when i forced myself to calm down as i dont want to put the under any stress just for work!.

i had a check up at my gp yesterday as i had some lumps on my vagina (TMI sorry) - had them for about 2 months, painful to the touch, they turned out to be cysts which i have never had before, not sure it's pregnancy related; have been given antibiotics and i hope they work. I want an immaculate looking private area by july! loool

Birthing centre sounds so attractive to me now!! thank you

Oh wow Phoenix, wish i was that brave. my births have been very smooth too, less than 2hours long and gas and air only but i get really panicky and anxious. oh yh! we told our older two about the baby and they are over joyed! i dont know why i was so worried! my daughter speaks to the baby more than she speaks to me!!! "good morning Mummy, good morning baby" then she hugs my belly and rest on it telling it stories and giving it advice!!! very sweet! this morning she taught the baby about half term, saying that it's the best thing ever! lol. my son wishes that we told him later so that he doesnt have to wait so long! lool.

hey TTC1234, they dont really do much at the 16week m/w appointment but it's nice to hear the baby's heartbeat and speak with the midwife about anything that's bothering you. my midwife is really great! she is so funny!
so dont worry, you arent missing anything and as long as you feel fine, then it's fine. good luck with your 20wk check up! cant wait for mine! exactly 3 weeks from today.

Hi.

Well I had my booking in appointment at 13 weeks so my midwife said not to bother with the 16 week appointment!

She only booked me for a 20 week one because I'm not having a scan, otherwise I'd be having a scan about now and not seeing my midwife til 28 weeks!

According to my notes you're supposed to get /be offered
Booking in
Dating scan
16 week appt
Anomaly scan (20 weeks approx)
25 week appt if it's your first baby (otherwise you miss this)
28 week appt
31 week appt - again, only if it's your 1st
34 week appt
36 week
38 week
40 weeks

I have my 16w appointment next Tues morning. I hope we get to hear the heartbeat. Time is just dragging on, and I am dying to feel baby's first kicks!
Hubby has been away in Paris this week (poor thing!), so I'm looking forward to him coming home tonight. Preg hormones don't make missing him any easier.

I got Cholestasis with my first two, but wouldn't dilate at all, so I had to have cesareans. My oldest also has a heart defect, so they want to monitor me for that as well.

Hi Ladies,
I've had an excellent few days
Over the weekend we cleared the room we are going to be using for the nursery, ready to decorate, bought some gorgeous baby clothes from Next, picked up our travel system, next to me crib and baby bouncer, ordered a changing bag and another sling
Then yesterday we had an appointment with our consultant, who said everything is looking great, she doesn't need to see me again until 28 weeks and she is happy for me to attempt a natural labour in the maternity unit (which I am absolutely over the moon about).
And then today we met with our genetic consultant who said that there would definitely be indications by now if the baby had non-recpirocated translocated chromosomes and they very much doubt we would have got passed 12 weeks.
So everything is looking absolutely fine and for the time being we are being treated like a completely normal pregnancy! And I'm feeling like we are well on our way to being ready for little Hendrix to join us
I'm so happy and hope everyone else is good xx
P.s I also haven't seen or heard from my midwife since 12 weeks and we have our 20 week scan next Thursday, not too bothered though as I didn't find her very useful, I just want to make sure I can have a tour of the maternity unit xx

Hi ladies,

haven't been on for a while, busy busy at work and travelling. Hope everyone is doing well!

Was worried for a while since I had felt no movements but the last week, and especially the last couple of days, I feel a lot of small bubbles in the lower belly! Feels weird but so lovely! She is so active :)

Unicorn, do you have your 20 weeks scan next week even if you are not 20 weeks? I want that as well but have mine in 2,5 weeks! :(. Had a 16 weeks appointment when they listened to the heartbeat though which was reassuring.

I have bought absolutely nothing for the baby yet since we are moving house beginning of April and will wait until then ( PANIC ). No point buying stuff now but feel like I leave things so late!! DH is really calm and say we can get it all in a couple of days which is true but reading about all of you being so ready freaks me out a bit :)

xx

Hey Unicorn so pleased for you :) so glad the consultant was happy with your progress and has given you positve news and that you can start enjoying your pregnancy. You have been very productive. My job this week is clearing out the guest room becuase everything out of the nursery room went in there and I just closed the door and conveniently forgot the mess but we have visitors at the weekend so need to sort it. Next do some gorgeous clothes especially unisex pieces. We had a peek in there last week as I have some vouchers to use so wating till after the 20 week scan to buy some so only a week to wait!!
I am doing ok, movement is getting more and stronger have been woken up each morning at around 4.30-5 to a wriggling bean! But I worry when some days it's less! We have a 20 week consultant appointnent and then see the midwife at 24 weeks. She booked that appointnent for us. But we had to book the 16 week one through the doctors. Maybe give a call and see? I don't think our hospital do tours anymore they have a virtual tour online.

Hello everyone. I couldn't get on the site for a few days not sure what was wrong. Had my 20 week scan on Friday. All is normal woohoo. The baby was lying on its Tummy with its knees bent to its chest and wouldn't move. We didn't want to know the sex anyway. Has this happened to anyone else ? Xx

Hi I am due 27th July. 17 weeks tomorrow and found out last week I'm having a little girl xxx

Thank you very much Redbootz, we're really pleased :-)
Hi Charlene, I'm pretty sure I'm due the same day as you but the hospital put us a week forward! So we'll be just over 19 weeks at our 20 week scan Maria, because we're trying to get away for a couple of weeks after that so they said it'd be OK for it to be a bit early! Our little one was asleep on his front at our gender scan ttc, but it was still quite obvious he is a little boy ;-)
I think I'm just starting to feel tiny movements the last couple of days, nothing much, I can't wait to feel him properly :-)
