***July 2016 trimester 2***

Fab news, Mel! :)

Children of the Corn ruined Isaac and Malachi for me lol :oooo:

Unicorn, if you like Madeleine but aren't too sure, what about Madison instead?

My friend had a kitten a few years back called Hendrix :)

With my last baby I deliberated over her name for WEEKS after she was born. This time I have names picked but I'm keeping them under wraps in case I decide it doesn't suit when they are born lol.

Great news Mel!

Have any of you started feeling kicks or flutters, I am 17 weeks tomorrow and I felt and saw two kicks yesterday and had a couple of kicks this morning, but nothing since. Is it normal to feel a bit and then nothing for a while or a few days or something? I didn't think I would feel so soon because the midwife said I wouldn't but it's def not gas. I just didn't want to start panicking if I don't feel anything for a while with it still being early and I am unsure of when we should worry if we didnt feel anything?

Yes, I've felt movement since 13 weeks, but it is so gentle/light and I regularly went a few days feeling nothing, so started to doubt myself a lot, wondering if it really was the baby or just wind or something.
But over the last week I have been feeling things a couple of times a day so I'm sure now it's the baby.

I haven't felt anything yet and I'm almost 16 weeks with 4th baby think it's cos my placenta is anterior. Wish I could feel him would make it more real! X

How are you doing Charliebump?
Excellent news Mel, you must be so pleased :-)
I'm not fussed on Madison Phoenix, I love Malachi but hubby doesn't!
I haven't felt anything at all yet and can't wait to!
Has anyone got any holidays planned for before baby arrives? We were hoping to get away to Gran Canaria for 10 days or so at the beginning of March for hubby's birthday as we didn't have a holiday last year with all the fertility appointments, but we've just had our 20 week scan date through for a week into the 2 weeks we have booked off work and we don't know whether to take the risk with the zika outbreak! Xx

Congratulations MEL!!! That's brilliant news. Thank goodness for the harmony test. You must be so much more relaxed now.

I managed to catch a stomach bug from a friend and her baby this week. Spent the whole of Wed being sick and not able to eat or drink. I do not recommend it! But I'm feeling my old self again now....well, my pregnancy self, at least. ;)

I'm excited to hear all this talk of feeling baby move. I haven't felt a thing yet, but I'm only 14 weeks today. Exciting times ahead!

So glad the results came back ok, Mel! You must be so relieved!
All's good here, just wish I could feel baby move... I'm such a worrier and it's 2 weeks until my next scan as my bloody doctor is on holiday!
So exciting that people have chosen names already. We'll wait until we know if it's a boy or a girl before deciding. We've already got Ella so no idea if it's a girl. For a boy I like James or Oscar, but we live in a road with Oskar in the name and that might just be silly and also confusing for spelling!

I have felt some flutters that could be, but none that I was CERTAIN about.

Unicorn we have been debating going away. I think we have now decided to stay in the UK or Scotland and just go away for Easter weekend, husband isn't keen on taking leave as he wants to make sure he can take more time off after the birth and up to xmas. I think that Gran Canaria would be safe I don't think they have any cases of Zika virus. You could check on governent websites or at a travel agents they would have all of the updated advice and if it's safe then go enjoy some sunshine :) My sister is off to Thailand in a few weeks so she is worrying like crazy now about the Zika virus!

Glad you are feeling better Oxford stomach bugs are nasty things. Seems to be a few bugs going around at the moment where we are. It's hard to avoid everything.

The movenent I had has now stopped so I think at the moment it's hit and miss, they are still very small and have a lot of room to move around I hope that we get more movement soon because husband missed the couple of kicks I had and really wants to feel them! And I may start to worry!
We have already changed our minds on boys names again and now Austin is possibly the one. We can't seem to agree and this is the only name that we both agree we like for a boy. We aren't going to find out the sex so it may be a girl in which case we already agree on a girls name.

Just saw your results were good Mel, so happy for you! :)

Lovely names everyone! xx

Isn't zika all about mosquitos?
I went to thailand in April redbootz and didn't even take anti malarials. We were in the north for a few days which is one of the main risk areas and we didn't see any at all.

If you do go abroad unicorn have a look at natural methods to deter mosquitos, there are quite a few out there and some are ridiculously easy such as acv and garlic

oh wow! great news Mel! Glory to God! so happy for you!

The hospital have been in touch today to say we need to see a geneticist again, I thought we were passed that! It feels like as soon as we get through one thing we're hit with another!
On a positive note we've booked for a gender scan on Thursday, I'm so excited! We'll only be 15+1 but the hospital have dated us a week ahead, so hopefully we'll get away with it xx

That zika virus is well scary. Seems to affect women in the first trimester but it's at such an unknown stage that anything's worrying. Think we're all safe in Europe though!!
Oh Unicorn, how come you have to see the geneticist again? Any ideas?
That's exciting about a gender scan! I've got to wait 2 weeks as my bloody doctor is on holiday! Can't wait to find out what we're having!

Yeah, Zika is scary. I have to go to Southern California for work (I know, I know) in late Feb, and I'm a bit worried about it being so close to Mexico. But the locals and authorities there all reassure me that the risk is minimal. Still, I'll be wearing some form of bug spray. There is some good information about which mosquito repellants work best here:

I've heard that Avon so soft skin is a brilliant repellant it's used by the armed forces apparently and works a treat. I've never used it myself but I heard it's great xx

Unicorn good luck for your scan on Thursday that's exciting 😊 I was told this baby is a boy at 15 weeks so hopefully you'll be able to find out xx

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow Unicorn. I can't wait for my next scan it's so far away. I just want to make sure everything is ok. I have persuaded the husband to book me two private scans later on after the 20 week scan so we can just keep an eye on things I don't trust a tape measure to tell me everything is ok.

Good luck unicorn xxx

I was really worrying about my scan because just felt good again, was scared but then this morning sickness is back so yayyy.. Not that I enjoy it lol obviously xxx

We couldn't wait, we had the scan yesterday and we're having a boy :-) xx
