***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Morning all, hope all of you who have been suffering are having a better day.

It's my day off and am still in bed like a lazy lump contemplating breakfast. Think I'm going to have to go and buy a bigger/maternity coat today as its turned too cold to be walking around in my usual coat gaping wide open at the front!

Had our first NCT class last night, the group seem really lovely and I actually quite enjoyed it. Hubby didn't look too traumatised which was a bonus, and next week he has to practice massaging my back so really looking forward to that!

I bought a lovely maternity coat, (well lovely in that it keeps me warm) from new look. £45 quid, navy blue, not my ususal style, but nothing i wear is stylist at the moment

I loved our NCT classes Spallerina, you will make great friends!
Enjoy the massage next week, can't quite get my DH to do anything of that sort this time round! ;-)

I wanted to do the nct classes this time but looked to book too late plus with moving we can't really afford it :-(

Hubby's really good at back rubs in general for me- think i might be in store for one later :-)))) definitely a keeper!!!!

We thought we'd lost our cat last night- thought he'd escaped the house and we weren't ever going to see him again, tears from hubby and everything!! Well he was trapped between two wardrobes in a corner and we found him at 4am this morning!!! Close call and we were so worried Freddie would never see "Diddy" (billy) again xxx

What a fright Jolly!

My girl (Amber) went missing for 48 hours earlier this year, she fell off our balcony and ended up on the streets with a bad leg for 2 days. She is an indoor cat but allowed out on the balconies and the roof.

I was bereft, it was bloody awful. We've lived in our place for 5 years and she has been fine with the balcony? As I didn't know she fell I wasn't looking on the right side of the road for her. I thought she had got into a neighbours house!

All is well now, she is insured and she is fully recovered but makes me sick just thinking about it all.

James loves Bambi (as he calls her, she was called Andy for a few months as well)

Pets, more trouble than kids? Or maybe not.

Had a horrible night with James, I thought he was better but woke up at 1.30am and he'd been sick - he was in bed with me - you get the picture. Poor little sausage didn't even wake up but I had to change him and bedsheets cue us both being up from 1.30am- 4am! He was fine but once he was awake he was up and wouldn't go back to sleep.

This morning I had whooping cough jab, and then a blast of Cryotherapy on some serious dry skin. (they do it with liquid nitrogen), it doesn't hurt at the time but think a very painful carpet burn - that is what it feels like now!!

I then get to work, spend 40 minutes on hold trying to get the gas turned on in the new place only to be told they won't come and do it until after you've moved in?? I mean what the actual fcuk?

So you move on a Saturday, the number you call is Mon-Fri only which means you freeze until they come 24h from when you call on the Monday morning?

So I lied and said I am moving in now!

All in all I am not a happy bunny!

X

Aw carnat, you've been having a right time of it, hope james is better soon.

Jolly, glad you found "Diddy". Pets can really make you worry.

I checked my fundal height against a chart on the internet and on it I only measure 34 weeks on the NHS chart. I say "only" , that's still big, but it doesn't seem nearly as bad as 38 weeks which I come out as on the portuguse chart! That means I'm only measuring 5 weeks ahead which seems more reasonable than two months!

Yep 5 weeks ahead is a lot better!

Wowser you weren't wrong when you said they have small babies over there?

Ah Jolly how awful to think your poor cat escaped. Thank goodness he was only hiding. Maybe he picked up on the stress of moving? Cats are such funny things. I have 2 and I'm sure when we eventually move they will both freak out as they are indoor cats! I swear by those plug ins you can buy called 'Feliway.' Quite pricey but they definitely help cats calm down in a new environment if you think he needs it?

Oh Nat what a day your having...you've reminded me i need to book my wooping cough jab. Seeing the midwife next week so ill book it when I'm already at the Drs. Hope James us a bit better today. It's horrible when they are not themselves. Hopefully you don't catch anything either!
My DD has had really loose smelly yukky number 2's since Monday, sorry for the tmi!
She's perfectly well in herself otherwise but it's starting to concern me even if it's not bothering her. I googled and found what's called 'toddler diarrhoea' and apparently it's just one of them things. By the age of 5 they grow out of it. It's made worse by too much fruit juice/squash so I'm limiting her to only water which she keeps getting stroppy about as she loves squash. Not that i ever make it too strong! Also says sometimes toddlers eat too much low fat when they need lots of good fats and fibres. So lots of milk, cheese and butter! Kind of makes sense when you think all you try to get down them is a healthy balance!
Kids, who'd have them! ;-) x

Lol, yeh babies are smaller and the women are really petite. Everyone thinks our little girl was crazy big at 9lbs 5oz, which is big but hardly a giant by UK standards.

Had scan today at 30+2. Baby hates scans and has never behaved. Never got a great 3d pic. Got one face on of baby yawning. Amazing. Measurements are within normal range. Measuring 3.5lb just now.

Aw that's a lovely face pic Mrs_W x

I'm doing the nct classes too, finding them a bit scary as I'm not very good socially, but it's a nice group of people. Hubby is learning a lot too, he doesn't read about babies and pregnancy and doesn't really listen to anything I say about it, but is picking up all sorts from the class. He was on the phone to his mum talking about all the pain relief options earlier and she was telling him about what she used with him - all quite sweet really :)

You've reminded me that I missed my whooping cough jab FluffyCats so thanks for that, I completely forgot. Anyone else got sh*t for brains at the moment or is it just me?

Me too chick!! I work in a dementia service and went to visit a lady yesterday to do a memory test with her, well it turned out I had forgotten to bring it with me! At least she thought it was hilarious!!

My memory is pretty cack at the moment too!

18 working days until I finish...not that I'm counting lol. Can't bloody wait now. Finding it tough juggling pregnancy, toddler and work at the mo and my job is mega busy at the mo.

Also can't get my head around the fact we are 75% through the pregnancy already. Madness.

Hope all the moving/packing/unpacking is going well for you ladies who are in the middle of it

Fab pics Mrs W :D

Happy weekend xx

Ah mrs w fab pics :-)

Nat sounds like you had a seriously bad day!!! And so so scary what happened to Amber :-((( I can understand why that would make you shudder to think about it :-(

I forgot to mention that when we woke up and found billy I had a horrendous coughing fit from this bronchitis and ended up properly wetting myself!!! It's funny now but I honestly thought my waters had gone  ! X

That's pretty funny megsmeadow, lucky you weren't taking the memory test  x

Had my 32 week appointment yesterday and they have taken bloods now due to my blood pressure increasing and my kidney problems, and now with the babies AC being small at last scan, they are checking for pre eclampsia so it's just another worry to add to the list haha! Another scan now on Monday, to see what's been happening this last two weeks, hopefully the small AC measurement is evened out , but looking forward to seeing baby again :) xxx

Oh dear Jolly, I know my pelvic floor muscles are struggling at the moment but I've not (yet) wee'd myself.

2 other randoms today decided to take it upon themselves to ask if I am having twins???

I went into the chemist to see if they had boxes and the lady that worked there told me to try middle of next week, to which point some woman waiting for a prescription said "she might have had the baby by next week"

I politely told them I am only 7 months cue lots of questions "is it twins?", "are you carrying lots of excess water" etc...

I mean what the actual fcuk.

They also both shook their heads in disbelief when I assured them the MW I saw 5 days ago is happy I am not massively big for almost 30 weeks.

People are really starting to wind me up!

X

People can be so annoying at times haha. I have the opposite problem and seem to be asked if am sure am as far along, and a few have asked if I even have a baby in there. Oh the joys of being pregnant haha.
X

Yeh haha! Suppose the grass is always greener too, cos av always wanted a bigger bump :) x
