***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Bumps are crazy eh, I saw two people today who I thought would never have noticed my bump but turns out it's pretty obvious now. Mrs W I love that first pic!

I'm not really offended by people asking if it is twins because I'd be thinking it was twins if I hadn't had 3 ultrasounds showing one baby :). Even the MW said she'd think it was twins if she didn't know it wasn't.

Hi ladies how are you all doing?

I'm getting impatient to meet my baby now lol. 8 weeks left tomorrow so hoping baby comes in December though I'll be on my birthing ball in a few weeks try get baby head down etc.

My partners sil is getting induced today as she's 2 weeks overdue I'm jealous wish I was 40 weeks not 42 lol and getting induced I'm so impatient now I just want meet him or her ekkk but I'm not prepared yet need clear put and get a car argh

Saying that these weeks are flying 57 days seems so close yet so far. Still have no names for baby either argh

My arm is aching off lol had my flu and whooping cough on Friday thankfully no side effects just a lump in each arm and very red

Hope everyone is well. I'm hoping start doing my hospital bag soon then it will seem more real omg it hasn't sunk in we are going have another baby around the house crazy

my partner sil visited us last Sunday and oh goodness he's 20 months lovely little boy but it was a mad house with the 3 of them lol oh I've got it all come I'm so excited now and nervous xxx

I am not even measuring big though? Would understand if I was.

I just think is so rude for strangers and people you barely know to pass comment?

I actually love my bump but some women really struggle with their changing figure.

X

Hmm, while it's none of peoples' business/those comments were a little rude and I would feel sorry for anyone who got comments like that with body issues, I'm just so delighted to finally be pregnant and have a lovely bump I don't care if anyone thinks it's on the large side - their comments are more a reflection on their ignorance than anything else! Plus, (touch wood) I'm always being offered seats on public transport, which I am very grateful for!

Hey M2T, are you aiming for a Christmas baby then? :) Hope things calm and have fun ordering in the hospital bag stuff. My OH and I have struggled for months for a name but finally we are getting close to something we are happy on and it's a nice feeling :)

Went to the first day of a hypnobirthing course yesterday, I think I must be susceptible to hypnosis as when we tried a 'guided relaxation' the last thing I remember is counting down these imaginary stairs to 0, then waking up when she asked us to come round on her last sentence, but apparently there was 10 minutes of talking in between, of which I remember nothing! Freaky!

I haven't had any bump comments at all, how strange that people think it's okay to comment when they don't know you!

I have had some fun at work as I used to have a bit of a belly before I became pregnant and sometimes when I'm talking to people I don't see often at work they keep glancing down and I can see the expression on their face for a micro-second that's saying 'is she pregnant? I better not ask in case she isn't' lol

We're currently looking into whether we can have a home birth or not. I thought that I would be high risk, but the consultant has essentially discharged us from their care and the regular growth scans we're having haven't flagged anything up as yet. I know babies can get very poorly indeed from a cmv virus, but it's looking more and more like she didn't get the virus  I have to wait 3 weeks though until the community midwife can relay the discussion she's had with a consultant :-(

I am always amazed when people comment on bump size, particularly strangers. I wouldn't dream of doing it myself!

Has anyone else had a lot of boob leakage already? Happening almost every night now, only small amounts but enough to gross hubby out! I refuse to start wearing breast pads this early though!

I noticed a tiny bit of boob leakage after dtd in the week, at least that's what I think it was (sorry tmi lol) x

Mine seem to have been leaking on and off for a good few weeks now, mainly when they get sore. If that makes sense. X

No boob leakage here, I didn't last time either but have some breast pads just in-case

I'm measuring very big, midwife said I need to cut down and start doing more exercise lol :/. So it doesn't surprise me when people comment on how big I am. Just wish I was all bump but I'm huge everywhere :(. I haven't had leaking boobs yet, when does that normally happen? X

I am astounded re: your MW hun. What an insensitive cow!

If you are measuring big (by more than 3cm) then you should be referred for a growth scan and or/ a GTT. I think you have already had a GTT?

You certainly shouldn't be told to "exercise more"

Sorry I am not helping, but I don't think your MW is being very supportive?

X

I know I was quite surprised to be honest. She wrote it on my notes too "needs to exercise more and eat healthy." I do eat healthy but I don't exercise as it causes so much pain atm. I don't know if you have growth charts in England but here they measure your belly every 2 weeks and mark it on the growth chart. I'm always way above where I should be but I don't think doing a bit more exercise is going to help lol. X

That's not good. How is exercise going to change your fundal height :-/

I've done no exercise at all other than nesting (clearing out a room completely filled with boxes and crap), just don't have the energy or inclination, plus I can only walk so far without my bladder getting full and when it's like that, walking becomes really painful

I hate it when anyone comments on my size and I am about the same as I was with my son at this stage. I just find it so rude to be honest. I was measuring 28cm fundal height at my 29 week appt with the midwife yet some people still think I'm huge. Strange.

We think we might have finally chosen our name which is exciting as we had a top 3 with my son and only decided which one to use after he was born (well, DH let me choose my favourite as I had just gone through labour lol). Might suggest we keep another choice as a back up just in case she doesn't suit the name when she's born. We're not sharing either until she's here, as don't want anyone's opinions to put me off. I know it bugged the hell out of my mum that we refused to sharelast time so it will again this time, but it's tough really. We shared the gender so this will be the last surprise for everyone :)

Ceecee we have two, although I'd like a third but we simply cannot choose for certain so will have to wait until she's here. Last time we told our family he was a Freddie, and when he was born the first thing I said was that he's DEFINITELY a Freddie!! This time we're seriously stuck for a name that feels right so we just won't share our choices with them. I kind of like that it annoys them ;-) x

Hi everyone xxxxx

Just posted in my anterior placenta thread and just wondered if any of yous could help in regards to the growth scan??
Here it is ...

e'll today we ended up back in the MAU due to not feeling any movement when I woke up at 7! We arrived at 3pm and was immediately seen and hooked up to heartbeat and foetal movement monitor. Immediately the monitor picked up normal relaxed heartbeat and even baby movements!!!!! But I felt absolutely nothing !!!!'

They kept me on the monitor 90 minutes and still I felt none of the movements. So I am awaiting a phone call tomorrow morning for a growth scan !!does anyone know why this would be requested ???
I asked the midwife if the due date would now change but she advised the results may mean I have to be induced earlier than my due date as I can't feel the baby move which could complicate labor.
I'm 30 weeks and 5 days. However at my own midwifes appointment on Thursday she measured me at 29 weeks... The midwife today measured me at 33 weeks???

Any advice or input would go a long way right now xxxxxxxxxxxxx

ah sorry to hear about your trip to hosp:-(.

Do you feel any movements at all? I don't feel an awful lot compared to my son but I definitely feel movements.

I'm having a growth scan as my son was small at 2 weeks overdue, but I would imagine they just want to be slightly cautious- I wouldn't worry too much about the fact it's a growth scan- they won't change your due date but they'll probably want to make sure everything's as it should be.

Fab news baby was wriggling around though even though you didn't feel the movements xxxx

Up until today the movements had been great jolly ! Very strong and regular !! (Getting stronger everyday)
I was noticing elbows and all sorts lol
But from the second I woke up today I knew something was off. My stomach felt heavier and yet I couldn't feel him !!
The midwife did explain my anterior placenta has probably just hidden him away today and it cushions the kicks and jabs !

It's reassuring to know he was ok during the hospital trip but annoying I still can't feel him !!!!!!!
But the thought of a growth scan does have me feeling fidgety because it's never been suggested before so I'm thinking ahhhhh why now?? Xxxxx

Yellowglass I'd expect they are wanting to check that your placenta is still healthy and nourishing baby, that's what my growth scans are for. If they notice a dip in baby's growth it can indicate problems with placenta or blood flow to placenta. The scans are so much more accurate than fungal height measurements (though still not exact) so I expect they just want a clear picture of what is happening, if anything. Of course baby might have just found a funny position to cuddle into behind the placenta. Hope all goes well.

I was going to say Yellowglass they may be doing the scan due to having (quite) different measurements from 2 appointments?

I am sure it's all just precautionary so try not to worry!

Ronnie, where are you based? UK is further afield?

X

Scan day today, sitting waiting now at the hospital for 10.40. Such a long nervous wait, but getting used to it now!
Hope everyone else is well!
And good luck with the grown scans, fingers crossed everything is on track! X
