***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Hey Jan, sorry to hear you're going through so much.

I had some horrendous leg cramps which woke me up yelling in pain. Apparently these can be caused by not enough magnesium (especially compared to calcium) in your diet.

I have been eating bananas regularly (a good source of magnesium) and doing some gentle calf stretches before I go to bed most nights, and I haven't had any since, touch wood.

Jolly - SPD sounds horrible, my sympathies.

Ladies - today my tailbone has been hurting a lot, does anyone have any tips? It's going to take me a long time to walk home tonight :(

Thanks Tinselcat, I'm off to buy some banana's! I'm going to try those exercises too. Annoyingly I've just been to the toilet to see brown discharge...!? I'm getting fed up with worrying now!! I'm still having the braxton hicks so I'm not sure if this is related... I'll just keep an eye on it for now anyway not going to let it worry me.

Jolly I totally sympathise with you about SPD... You poor thing it's terrible (I had it with my second thankfully not too bad with this one ... Yet!)

X

Jan - If you are having brown discharge I would definitely get some medical advice hun.

Hope the bananas/exercises help. I think the braxton hicks are a normal part of the third trimester so I wouldn't let those in particular worry you if you can help it

xx

Hi girls! I hope those of you having a rough time are coping and feel better soon. I have suffered badly with dizzy spells and racing pulse the last couple of weeks but it is finally better. I had a MW appointment yesterday and I'm measuring huge! According to the chart my fundal height is right for 38 weeks! No wonder I look like I am due next week! She wasn't too worried though because I have been large all along and everything is right on the scans and I carried big last time too.

Thanks hun - yeah I was worried when I seen it but then it hasn't come back since - the brown was at about 7 but since then it's been normal - you'd think by third pregnancy these pregnancy worries would stop but I just feel like this one has kept me on my toes!! Xx

Jolly def get yourself to the Dr, there is no need to suffer.

Jan, I am sure you know best but any more brown stuff then give your MW a ring.

Right lecture over

Can't help with the tailbone pain TC? Maybe a cushion if you are sitting for long periods.

Glad you are feeling better Bunny, I am looking huge as well [someone asked me if it was twins a few days ago :wall2:  ] but I too was measuring 28w spot on - despite being 28w 6d. (I am guessing you meant 28w and not 38w when you posted as if you were measuring 38w then yep you would be huge!!!!)

James is a lot better today, he did end up being sick yesterday a few times in the morning but Daddy took amazing care of him and by the time I was home he was beginning to perk up.

We're on the final countdown now. Carpet going in a week today that means OH has 6 days to get the place completely done. As he is only there in the evenings it's going to be tight.

New fridge and cooker ordered, I am on the hunt for boxes and I am going to start packing this weekend.

Can't believe we're actually moving. Although it's still 10 days until actual moving day but the aim is to have most of the small bits moved by then and just move the massive furniture on the 16th.

Plus It's 8 day until my gorgeous little boy turns 2. Madness!!!

You certainly seem organised Carnat well done to you! I'm in the process of decorating too and literally can't be bothered most days to order my bits and pieces! All I want to do is sit on my big arse lol! No more brown stuff today thankfully but thanks and I will certainly mention it at my next appointment. Have another scan on Tuesday to check on the fluid levels I'm hoping they'll have reduced and they won't have to drain any as I've heard it can preempt labour! Although the idea of giving me a little more comfort is so tempting!! Good luck with the move! X

Carnat, no, I really am measuring 38 weeks! Its crazy. MW said she would usually be worried if it was the first time she saw me but it just seems to be the way I am. I measured really big in my last pregnancy too.

It is a huge relief to feel better. I have finally got the house looking decent. It has been sudh a tip for months. I didn't do anything in tri 1 when I had awful morning sickness and I haven't had energy since to catch up. OH is great at helping but he can only do so much cus he has to work too. I just can't imagine trying to move house at the moment, you girls are brave!

Wow Nat it's busy times for you!!!

Bunny 38 weeks is huge!!! I was measuring about a week and a half over. I thought I was massive but my bump has seriously dropped and now looks like a sack of spuds!!! I'll get a photo soon.

Went to docs this morning and had a meltdown. I have bronchitis, which explains why I have felt so rubbish the last week!! So obviously nothing to do with the flu jab lol!!! I have antibiotics and an inhaler to help my wheeze.

They signed me off for a week to get a grip, which I'm glad about, I feel I need the time, but I don't want to take the Mickey as in after my promotion!!!

So sorry to hear some of you are feeling rough :( Hope you will all be on the mend soon xx

Can't believe how organised you are Nat :) I'm only doing up my sitting room and kitchen and I'm all over the place!! Haven't even started properly getting room ready for baby's arrival yet :) But I am picking up my labour bag and baby's bag tomorrow evening all packed for me and ready to go :) Excited much!!!

My little man has been quiet for the last few days can't wait til Monday to see the dr xx

Blimey - you are measuring 9 week ahead Bunny?

Have they offered you a scan? GTT?

(I say this as my SIL always measured big with her 3 pregnancies but the most I think was 6 weeks ahead and they made a big fuss about it??)

Glad you have a diagnosis and some time off to recover Jolly.

Hope you feel better soon jolly. I couldn't quite believe I was measuring 38 weeks. That is on a portuguese chart and portuguese ladies and babies tend to be much smaller so the chart might be a bit different. I think I'll check it against a UK chart.

Sorry hun, didn't mean to make a big deal about it!

Just thought it was a typo lol.

As long as the MW is happy then I wouldn't worry, it's only an estimate anyway??

Hi ladies, attempting to catch up! Hope ladies that are feeling rough, start to feel better soon, I've been signed off since Monday also with a chest infection, although he didn't give me any antibiotics ? Said to come back on Monday if I still feel the same ? Feeling slightly better I only have next week left at work, as I'm moving completely out of the area so need to get sorted.( Work dont know this) Also I haven't seen my midwife since 28wks and I'm due to see my new midwife when I have moved on the 19th nov, that's 5 weeks since being seen. I mean that's ok isn't it ?y current midwife wasn't concerned about it. Just been feeling so blurgh with being poorly this week, constantly tired and having hot sweats all the time anyone else ? I feel like I've definitely got so much bigger the past two weeks, getting breathless just walking now! Sorry for all the rambling, seems a few of us are making a move over the next few weeks! X

Lol, no worries. It does seem a bit crazy. The MW didn't seem worried though. She said she would be worried if it was all of a sudden but I've measured big all along. Last pregnancy I was measuring huge until about 34 weeks when the baby decided to move down then my fundal height dropped by several cm so I think it must have more to do with the way I carry babies. We already know he is a big baby and the placenta is big too but he is not THAT big! At least I hope not, lol.

Kitty, I wouldn't worry about that long between seeing the MW unless you are having a specific worry. It was almost 2 months since I had seen the MW because she was away for a couple of weeks but she always tells me to ring her when I'm worried about something.

LOL Bunny, its weird how we all carry different?

I don't think I ever got beyond 38cm despite getting to 41w (I didn't see a MW after 40w though)

I feel massive this time round, I keep walking into things and misjudging spaces :wall2:

Kitty, I had 13w between appointments - granted it's number 2 - and I still have 5 weeks from recent appointment until next one.

I am sure it's fine, it just means you are nice and healthy and doing well with bub !

Shattered today, spent my lunch hour cancelling SKY and getting Virgin sorted - much cheaper.

X

I'm feeling huge also Nat. Totally with you on walking into things.
It was yesterday I suddenly realised I'm now at the stage where I can't quite stand as close to the kitchen sink anymore to wash up. I wasn't like that this early on before. Doesn't help the back ache reaching to do it. At least it gets me out of a few chores ;-)

So i finally decided that my midwife couldn't of called my hospital last week regarding my 34 week consultant appointment re having an elective section. Not herd a peep from her or the hospital!
So I rung the hospital myself and booked myself in, ha! I was told at my first vbac appointment that you will need to be referred if you want to go down the section route, so if my midwife won't do it due to it not being her hospital, then I will!
It's not untill 17th December and is with the obstetric consultant, so i really hope that it's actually the right person.
Didn't see a consultant for my first vbac appointment and came out feeling so bored and deflated.
I won't be leaving the hospital that day until I have my bloody date!! ;-)

Sorry, quick post, tc- tailbone pain....
This was my first sign of pgp in my first pregnancy, so so painful. It then became more specific in my sacroiliac joints at the back and then symphysis pubis at the front too.
Kids swimming rings are good to take the pressure off while sitting, no need to buy an expensive cushion! And a referral to physio to make sure you keep pgp at bay.
I never had coccyx pain this time around, straight into si and spd pain :/

Thanks for sharing your experience Meg - I'll keep an eye on it then! xx
