Sorrytl to everyones whos out ans gl to those still in xxx

I've just tested this morning at 9dpo using a one step test. I can see the faintest of lines! I've tried taking several photos and i can't get it to come out properly but it's definitely visible to the naked eye. I'll test again tomorrow, fingers crossed it's not an evap line! Xx

Thanks we will see trying to stay positive and hope its not a really unusual cycle.

Sorry you've been having a rough time of it, my cycles have been relatively the same the past 6 months after coming off the pill but hoping this delay isn't the start of something. Fx things start looking up for you.

I've seen a few girls I know with a diagnosis PCOS or endo or fibroids and get pregnant quicker than we have with unexplained infertility...really wish we didn't have that diagnosis it's prob the worst to have. I just don't know what do for the best anymore....I've tried so many things. I get frustrated hearing ppl who have fertility issues get pregnant...that sounds so selfish but I am happy it worked out for them but it feels like am locked in a box with no key to get out....no answers and getting nowhere. When DH sperm is 'excellent' when you have a progesterone day 21 45 ...when your tubes are clear and ovaries clear... why o why is it not happening. Is there an actual list of the things it could be? Why can't they dig a bit more in detail ? Does anyone else feel a bit like this? When ivf is possible why is unexplained infertility even a thing?

I agree with you that a diagnosis of unexplained fertility is pants. I don't think it's ever truly unexplained and really it just means either they haven't worked it out yet or the NHS won't pay to find out. In some ways it's easier to have a problem they can diagnose and fix as if that's been the problem all along then of course it makes sense that fixing it would result in a pregnancy.

In our case, we've had so many issues that have now been fixed that I really don't know what our problem is any more. I certainly don't believe we're 'unexplained'. There has to be a bigger reason. We've had too many issues for there not to be but my instincts tell me we're about to become unexplained as well though I still can't shake the feeling that there may be deeper issues with OH's sperm even though his tests are now coming back normal.

I think it's a lot of the reason that I don't have faith that IVF is the answer. To me it's just process of elimination and it's all they'll have left to offer us. I think I'd feel better if it was being offered as a direct solution to a problem, like a tubal defect. One the one hand, they do select the best eggs and put them with the best sperm so it may overcome an issue or us but on the other hand it just feels like too many unknowns. At the end of the day, all we can do is try. As we only get one NHS funded cycle, I think if that failed and there was any question about the sperm quality, I would want further testing on OH before paying out for another go.

All in all, it really is the pits.

Ally, post a pic!

May, I am so sorry for this limbo you're in. That's overwhelming and so disheartening.

Alexis, my best friend is "unexplained" too and it is definitely a desperate place to find yourself. Another dear friend had two VERY late losses back-to-back, also "unexplained" -- I've come to realize that what they mean by "unexplained" is "we haven't figured that out yet" or "we don't know all the things to look for yet." In other words, it's not you, it's them. I'm so sorry, and I hope you get your bfp soon and don't have to worry about it anymore.

Moomin, same goes to you. Are you on the waiting list for IVF? I'm in the US, so not sure how it works there.

I tested today, 3 (yeah, 3) stark white BFNs. I expected my period a couple days ago so I obviously got my hopes up a little. At this point in my cycle, getting BFNs (and after being away from DH for so long visiting family), there's no chance I'm pregnant... which is ok, I just want to know if this means my cycle is going to be super irregular like it was after my second baby.

Good luck everyone.

Does NHS England only give 1 round? In Scotland we get 3 rounds ! . Our clinic does private patients too. Yeah If we don't catch by April the doc said 3 months post hsg is most fertile time so we will be having ivf end of the year . I have been reading about it lots and trying to fully prepare myself in advance.

Kholl - I'm not on the waiting list at the moment as we had major issues with our first clinic so we're in the process of being re-referred to a different clinic. I keep being told there's no waiting list once we're referred but we'll soon see how true that is.

Alexis - most areas only give one round, some give more but a few actually don't fund any. I think the only positive is that the waiting time seems to be less. I've also been reading up on a lot of things. I think it pays to be prepared.
