*~* February 2017 yummy mummies - the last trimester *~*

Got my GTT results back - all normal! Yay!

What did the Consultant recommend pinkbunny? Did they think there was much chance of turning with an ECV?

Yay, so pleased for you lura!!

Pink bunny, you go with your gut instinct if you want a section and think it's best you do that! Don't worry what anyone else thinks, bringing a baby into to world and carrying them for 9 months isn't easy which ever way you do it and a section is definitely not an easy way out but sometimes it's the best and safest. If in your position I think I would be going for a section too as you said no point stressing you or baby unnecessarily and the worry/ stress that it might revert back anyway won't be good for you or baby!

Lura - glad for your results hun, I've got my glucose test Tuesday and I'm dreading it! Xxx

Pinkbunny - I was in your position but for different reasons. Go with what you feel is right, whatever that decision is. Xx

Sounds like what happened with me pink bunny - bum was engaged so the consultant wouldn't even attempt it. I had a lovely section experience and that was what was best for baby. Don't feel pressured into anything - if you feel a section is right then you should do that. The ecv may have a low chance of working anyway. I think my hubby would love me to have another section ha ha!

Thank you ladies for all your support. I waited almost 2 hours to see a consultant after my scan and she spent about 3 minutes with me, didn't even look at the scan report, gave me 2 leaflets on ECV and Elective C Sections and dashed off. I was hoping she would tell me if it's even possible to turn her with the bum so low down etc but no such luck. I got a phone call today asking me to go in tomorrow afternoon to give them my decision. 3 midwives have told me they probably wouldn't attempt an ECV mainly because her bum is low but also because she has been breech for a long time so even if they could turn her she would probably go straight back to breech. My hubby feels like I should at least try the ECV but I'm going to see how tomorrow's appointment goes, ask some more questions and then make a decision based on what I think is best and what my gut instinct is with the info.

Hope you are all doing well - I seem to have developed the itchiest rash on my bump that's driving me crazy!

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow pinkbunny!
Make sure you go in with your questions you want to ask, make sure they dont rush you and then go with what you feel be best for you and baby. Xx

So update for you all. Baby decided that he didn't want to be a February baby after all! 1am this morning my waters broke and had a police escort to the hospital. Contractions started straight away (forgot how much they hurt) then had emergency section with little man arriving at 3.40am.

Am totally in love and can't stop staring at him! We don't have a name yet as we thought we had another week until we had to decide!!!

Ooohh wow congrats Nic!!! What a surprise for you! Looking forward to hearing the name and seeing a photo.

There are gunna be no Feb mummies left at this rate haha!

Congratulations nic, these Feb babies are so impatient! I hope my lil man is taking note and doesn't keep me waiting!!

Can't wait to see pics, names and stories when your all feeling up to it.

Hope today went ok pinkbunny!

Aw congrats nic. Wonderful news a d hope you aren't too sore! Can't wait to see pictures! What did he weigh?

I've just got home from consultant app. Baby's bottom is too low so they wouldn't turn her anyway so the decision was taken out of my hands (after all that fretting) I've got a c section booked in for 10th Feb, eek! Now I'm bricking it about being numb lol xx

Oh wow nic massive congrats!! I hope my baby makes an early appearance :)

Pink bunny I think it's probably the best outcome. My planned section was lovely so ask any questions and can hopefully put your mind at ease!

Thanks everyone! Just remembered why I hate the hospital...being kept awake by all the babies. They seem to have a tag team going on tonight, 1 stops and the next 1 starts!!!

Lol nic, i found it ridiculoualy noisy too. I was discharged yesterday and was so pleased never to hear another blood pressure monitor again. The babies crying I could understand, it was the midwives bellowing to one another that really got my goat.

Yikes so February is here!

My c-section is on the 20th and my last day of work is Friday (I cannot wait!!!!!)

Haha, totally get you. I'm hoping I can go home today, fingers crossed! In a lot more pain today but maybe it's because I'm so tired so am struggling

Hey ladies,

Went for my glucose test today, got there (starving and thirsty, barely any sleep) got called in and nurse asked why it was so late and I told her the consultant arranged it last week because of bmi at the beginning of pregnancy. Told her I was having my c section next Thursday. She said well there's no point. Is she measuring big? And I said nope. So it got cancelled, had my bloods done quickly for liver, swabs ready for c section and given my premeds. Well, it's safe to say I nearly ran out the doors after and went and bought a drink .. lol..
Makes you wonder sometimes xx

Oooh no sorry to here that Tigeress! But yes it does make sense why you would need to be put through it, thought the Consultant would have picked up on that. Did they not tell you you could have sips of water on the run up to the test and through the test?

Oh Tigeress, how annoying! Especially when you've not had anything!

My hospital have put me on an enhanced recovery programme, meaning the catheter comes out sooner, I can get up quicker and come home the next day. Not too sure how I'll feel about that at the time! It also means I have to go to a one hour group workshop next Tuesday and I'll get all my pre-meds there etc.

Thanks for a lovely comment Laura - can I ask you when you had your section how was the spinal and how long were you numb for? Also, is there anything else I will need that I haven't thought about when planning for a natural birth?
