*****August 2014 Mummies*****

I eventually got to sleep at 2am then i was woken with really bad cramps in my tummy, i was in so much pain, but it went off about 20 mins later. I just want him to come now, im so warm, exhausted and tired. i need to go get some nursing bra's but will go tomorrow and hope its a bit cooler. We went shoppng yesterday round Ikea and toys R us and got all the last bits for bubs, (grandad treated us) so we have been putting up the cot today. MW on thursday as ive got protein in my urine again, hope its cleared up this time

Well at least u have called hun! There can be no come back on u at all and u can just follow their advice!..... I'm sure I've read with the bloody show it can be only days away and with all the pressure u have u would really hope it isn't weeks :-/

Mrsm- that's fantastic news :-) So pleased for u! Bet that's a weight off your mind xxx

It is but we just want to get there and get moved. Get an awful feeling this baby isn't gunna wait, bump is really dropping at times through the day and getting really strong BH and pains

Whichever order the baby and house come in hun it will work out in the long run! Try not to stress (I can appreciate how hard that is) x

Hi ladies, hope you're all getting on okay in the heat! I for one have definitely had enough of it!

I'm having a hormonal freak out today!! This morning was Caleb's last day of preschool, his key worker is leaving and I'm hoping he's going to be okay settling when he goes back after the holidays! I can't believe he's done his first year now (well, since October) and he seems so grown up!

OH left for offshore this morning at 4am, he's due home on the 21st of August, 5 days before this LO is due, so if I have another section it might well be scheduled straight after he gets home. It hit me last night out at dinner that it might have been our last as a family of three.

I've not been that hormonally emotional up until now, and it's just all come at once!

On the non depressing side of things, two of my online orders arrived today. Caleb's big brother presents arrived from Mothercare, and my baby stuff from Zara got here too. I'm obsessed with the AW2014 range (all the grey and mustard stuff) so bought some 3-6 month bits. We started dressing Caleb in proper clothes at that age so it works out nicely.

Here's a little sneak peek! I'm in love! Can't wait to see this LO all dressed up, just gutting that Caleb is too big for the baby boy range now!

Have we lost people to Facebook ? Thread seems much quieter recently...
Love the clothes ft90 we haven't bought anything yet waiting to see what flavour and what we get pressies wise first! X

Yes- lost a fair few people as they can't post on here!
Lovely stuff ft90! I for one am all over the place to and heat is slowly torturing me :-(

Hoping for no.2 - That's a good idea if you're team yellow, plus you will get loads of pressies so best to wait that way. I think if you don't know what you're having it's not worth buying a ton of neutral stuff because you'll just end up buying the same amount after LO is born! When I had my first most of the presents I got were pale blue vest/sleepsuit sets so I've bought different colours this time. Lots of navy, grey and yellow bits (to match my bedroom!) and stuff in colours like mustard because I know people will be too shy to buy such a bold colour choice! But I recommend Zara whatever you have, the girls stuff is gorgeous and boys stuff is so cute!

mum2b410 this heat is the worst isn't it. I picked Caleb up from school, it's only five minutes each way and I was dead after! Went to the shop to get some lunch and after we finished eating I put Cars on so Caleb would lay down and I could have a nap! As it happened he was asleep after eating five raisins and I got a cheeky 45 mins!

Ethan still naps of an afternoon most days and I am keeping going with it as long as I can! Its keeping me sane in this weather coz I can stop and be still for a bit!...... I've overdone it today though and physically feel exhausted (39 weeks tomorrow so I'm not surprised! Should know better really!). So pleased I have my OH here as he is getting Ethan sorted for bed! Must b so hard without your OH for weeks at a time :-/

Got the house got the house!!!!!!!!!! Saw it Monday and confirmed we have been accepted today :-) love a week on Saturday. Nothing like doing things in halves!

Ft90- I replied to your last post earlier and it has disappeared! Grrr!

Congrats mrsm!!!

Mummy_midwife had her little girl- yay!!!! :-)

Congrats to mummy midwife on the birth of Isla!

Congrats to mrs m too :) glad you got the house :)

Been too hot and tired to post much the last few days. Every evening seems to be filled with bh and baby trying to wriggle while she lowers even further down. Last day of work was yesterday - Yay!!!!

Morning Ladies,

MrsM - Congrats on the house and good luck with the move!

As for those struggling with the heat I feel your pain. I mostly sit around the house in my over the bump pants and vest . If I go out, I just put on a floaty dress and the only pair of flip flops that fit my fat/swollen feet! Also, I have a jug of squash in the fridge to keep as cold as possible.

AFM - Today, being first day of the hols/maternity leave, I'm taking it fairly easy. Waiting in for Tesco Delivery this morning and hopefully a new maternity dress I won from Ebay. Nail appointment this afternoon, need to sign up to new dentist so must make the effort to pick up the forms. Then home for BBQ for tea. Tomorrow, I will be making a start on my hospital bag. Midwife apt on Tues.

Went to see my best friend yesterday who had a gorgeous baby girl last weekend. She's really suffering from lots of stitches and breastfeeding isn't going well, so she's having to pump away. Her husband isn't being very helpful or pleasant either, I really felt for her yesterday. I'm going to visit her again in a week for so, check up on her and do some chores for her to help ease the load. We're hoping by time I have my baby, 6 weeks or so, she'll be feeling much better to come and visit me, have a trip out as we live about 45 mins away from each other.

Alipops x

I think its 4 hun! Donnah, Lanny, Wenchtoots and mummy_midwife :-)

Alipops- nice to hear from u! Great u r now on mat leave! Your poor friend- doesn't sound like the best of starts for her :-/ Hopefully things will improve v soon! Xx

aww congrats to mummy midwife. wow wonder how many other aug babies will be here in july.
Breast feeding is dire :( Health visitor cant believe the strength the wee guy has when trying to push me away. She say my positioning and technique is great, he just wants the bottle! She did discuss refusing him the bottle for a feed or 2 until he just had to latch on but said she wont advise it as he has just got back to his birth weight and because he was a premmie. Im wondering if it was code for 'im not allowed to suggest it but you should try it'??? Anyway going to buy nipple shields tomoz and try them.
Hope everyone is coping in this heat!!

x

That sounds really tough wenchy! R u gonna express if u try the bottle or just do formula?? Sorry its been so hard with Cai! Really hope nipple shields help xxx

I have loads of milk!! Getting 200-250ml every 3/4 hrs expressing, so def stick with expressing. Still hoping he will latch on. Day 11 now with not much joy and he is getting more and more used to the bottle of expressed milk, but then again, Taylor didnt latch on till 3 weeks old so might get lucky in a few weeks. Just gonna keep trying at each feed and hoping the nipples shields will make an improvement. otherwise will just be expressing as long as I can. Its just a nightmare at night, once Cai has been fed I have to go express then sterilise the equipment and I just want to get back to bed lol.
Im determined he will be breast fed lol.
Anyone know if Tescos stocks nipple shields? HV didnt think so but said Boots does, but our Boots in the local town is just a little one. Hoping not to have to go all the way to the city to get them.

xx

Aww hun that is really tough going!!..... Not sure re Tesco and nipple shields- could u look online first?? Xx
