*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Morning everyone. I watched OBEM last night and thought all the births were fab, I found it really positive last night, I don't always though! Less than 6 weeks till induction now so lets see if I am still watching it nearer the time! I have left a message for the diabetes team this morning as my blood sugars still seem to be on the low side compared to normal and as they asked me to monitor bloods because of the concern over the functionality of the placenta I am waiting for them to call back to discuss it. Hopefully they might ask me to go in for monitoring and have a scan today as another week waiting to find out if there is an issue with the placenta and doppler PI might drive me mad! I am off to Devon for the weekend for a family birthday so it would be good to find out if there is an issue one way or the other.

Peeing in the night - yes like clockwork usually around 1 and 5 every morning although sometimes only once and other times 3 or 4 times, my sister says it is natures way of getting us used to the lack of sleep!

Liane sorry to hear of your loss, I hope you are ok x

Take care everyone and have a good day x

P.S - what is with non pregnant women feeling the need to tell pregnant women horror stories about things that have happened to people they know?! I have had 2 of them lately and feel like saying 'what part of me looks like they want to hear this awful story to make me worry more' grrr!

Mummy bear- hope u got some more sleep in the end hun?

Kaffee- oh yes- loads of friends dieting and losing weight!! Can't believe I'm actually looking forward to trying to lose the weight like I am!!

Donnah- hope they get back to u asap and get things checked so u feel reassured before u go away!
The horror stories do my head in!! I don't get people's logic in telling them (unless u ask to know!) Its like they want to scare u on purpose and I think that's mean!!

33 weeks today! Will post a pic in a min!...... Can't believe baby is fully cooked in 4 weeks, but then potentially not here for another 9 weeks!! Its a v big window for when he might come! Certainly don't think I'm gonna b expecting anything before 40 weeks like I did first time round! Was waiting for any little twinge! Lol!
Thankfully slept better last night!...... Seeing my bestie today with her 3 month old and got to get more packing done! Keep forgetting I'm at a wedding Saturday too!

Hope u all have a good day! Xx

Morning ladies sorry not really posted on this thread last few days.
Been slightly down and wanted to pick myself up before I wrote on this thread though I did have a moan in my journal.
I'm sorry to read about your loss happy :(.
I have finally finished my little mans nursery :)
Sounds like we are suffering with the hot weather, I quite like it unless I'm at work I do suffer behind the bar when it's warm! We had 45 people in the other night just in the bar area and the heat coming from everyone was rediculous.
But I. Still enjoying working despite the heat and I'm finding the more I keep going the more I can keep going so not planning on stopping anytime just yet! X think I'll be working up until end of July! :) xx
Hope everyone's ok xx

Morning all.
Isn't it beautiful out. I really miss having a garden, could really do with spending the majority of my maternity leave sat out in the sun! ;)
Today was a bit harder, spent the day with my Mum who wanted to get the old photos out of Grandad etc. But been trying to keep her busy and keep things normal for her.
Had my whooping cough jab yesterday, so a bit of a dead, achy arm today. So far no where near as bad as the flu jab was! Thankfully.
On my blog today, I posted a post on Hospital Bags, if any of you fancy having a read it may be helpful to some. http://www.thebrunettesays.co.uk
Love OBEM being back on the telly! I usually love watching it but it made me a bit anxious last night!! :oooo:

HanSam - Thank you. Ice creams instead of A/C haha. Im pretty much living on ice lollies at the mo!! lol.

Mummybear - Oooh yay, can't wait to have a read of your blog hun!! Will check it out when I've done this :) Its normal to worry about money hun, Im the same. But you'll make it work because we just do don't we? :) Hope you get some relief with your pain soon hun!!

keeptrying - Thank you hun. Ah it bet its been lovely being away! My bump changes shape everyday I think lol, depending on where he's lying. Its majority up high tho and lots of pressure up top as breech - little nuisance!! Tbh, my night time loo trips have calmed down a bit, I'll prob only get up once a night at the mo.

OfficiallyMrsM - My Bradley was really long too :) Annoying your MW didn't sort you out!!

coco_cukoo - Thanks hun. Yeh my Grandma seems more worried about me stressing the baby! Bless her. Oooh 4th August, makes it all more real when you get a date doesn't it! Not long now!! :)

Weezy - I have yet to get any boob leakage!! :)

donnah - Thanks lovely. Hope you get some answers before your trip to Devon. Ooh Devon will be beautiful in this weather, have a lovely time!!

mum2b - Happy 33 weeks lovely!! As soon as I get to 37 weeks I'm going to be like 'Come on then, lets get you out!!' lol.

Hi all,

Just got back from 28 week appointment (even though I am 29 weeks today...). Had my anti-d injection. Seen a few of you are having it soon and are worried. Don't be. I was alarmed at the size of the needle I will be honest but it doesn't hurt and if I had not seen her prepping it all, I would not have guessed it was that big. The needle going in is not even as bad as a blood test and the only thing I felt was a dull ache as she pushed the plunger. It is fine now and just a tiny red dot where it was put in my arm.

Oh and on OBEM, I am too much of a whimp to watch it! I mute the TV when the advert comes on too! I deal with things better when I am thrown in at the deep end so I think if I watch it and see all the different things that happen, I will be freaking out. DH and I did watch a lady give birth on youtube the other night as he was panicking about what it looks like. I must say it was not half as bad as I was thinking it would be. She was very calm and quiet. Whenever I imagine birth I just think of sweating profusely, swearing at everyone and screaming my head off. Hoping I will be a calm quiet mummy. Doubt it!

xx

Hey sax that's really good to know about the anti d I'm so nervous my own fault for using dr google!! I love obem but I'm away ATM so can't watch it my hubby refuses to watch it lol. Have u or any other ladies started ur antenatal classes? I got mine on weds looking forward to it kind of! Xxx

Hi Keeptrying.

I only get one and lasts 4 hours! It's at 34 weeks, and if I go on the confidence of my consultant, he might even be here by then! They are on about him having to come early because the blood flow to my placenta is basically rubbish, so he may develop growth restriction if left in the oven too long. The consultants words were 'He might finish growing better outside rather than inside if you know what I mean.'

So while everyone is sat there with a doll, I might have the real thing! Lol.

Atleast they are monitoring you and doing everything right for your bubs. How did u find out about the cord thing if you don't mind me asking? Xx

Yeah I am glad I am being checked for it. Makes you worry though.

I had my normal 12 week bloods which came back with a low papp a level. I was called to the specialist unit to discuss it. He said it basically means I might be at a higher risk of preeclampsia due to the blood vessels feeding my placenta being too small. I was put on aspirin daily to try and help the blood get through and so far so good.

I had a uterine doppler scan on the main vessels at 20 week scan which were showing they were small but not causing any issues yet. I have to have another scan at 34 weeks to check this again and check his sizes. At the moment he is spot on and they are not concerned. I was a bit worried at one point because I was not really gaining weight. Even now I have only gained 10lbs but MW is not worried. He is doing well. Plus it means less weight for me to lose later I guess!

When we started TTC I never even considered anything like this or anything else that can go wrong. It really does change you doesn't it. xx

Must have been scary for you. I hate not being in control and being pregnant is not doing me any good for my nerves. Ur right tho u just imagine this easy pregnancy 9 months then a perfect baby pops out! I've had hg and been in hospital loads on every anti sickness meds going and constantly worried what affect it would have on her. Thankfully she's ok but you put so much trust in the doctors because what else can you do. Will u have an induction or c section? Xx

They have said it could be either so I am just going to carry on with an open mind. I don't mind really. So long as he gets here safely that is all that matters.

Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time of it. I was so lucky with morning sickness. Only had a day of vomiting, the rest of the time I just felt very sick but nothing really came of it.

Hi everyone- I hope no one minds but I have updated the front page with Emapot1's baby girls name and DOB. She started this journey with us but her little girl was sadly still born on the 7th June after fatal damage from Toxoplasmosis. There is a thread in the 'coping with miscarriage and loss' section for anyone who wishes to pass on their condolences. I didn't want to just delete Emma from the front page. I'm sure your hearts go out to her xxxxx

Hey mum2b how r u? Definitely, such a tragic story makes u appreciate things a lot more when you read thing like this. My heart goes out to her and family
Hope you have a lovely hol when do u leave? Xxx

Hi hun! We r off on Sunday as have a wedding to go to tomorrow!
I'm ok thanks- just the usual achiness and tiredness!
Is it your last day today? X

Happy Friday everyone.
Baby is moving all over the place as I'm writing this, I do wonder if he's changed position yet or still breech as I struggle to tell now.
So I'm sporting my tent/maxi dress [delete as appropriate] today as its so warm, trying to feel a bit more summery & am off to buy Fathers Day bits in the sunshine.
Feeling huuuge. & Braxton Hicks are a pain.. quite literally lol.

Saxelby - Remind me what the anti-d injection is for hun?

keeptrying - My midwife said she'd organise antenatal/parent craft at next appointment. mainly for OH as his first but Id like it tbh as I never got chance to go last time.

mum2b - Oh how sad about Emapot1, bless her!!

Hi Lianne.

I am rhesus negative blood type and its something they have to offer you. It is to prevent anti-body formation if I have a rhesus positive baby.

My midwife said I will need another one after he is born. They take some blood from me and the cord to see if there are any anti-bodies present. I assume he will be given a shot too if needed.

Hi Lianne! Hopefully your little man is trying to tip the right way up!...... I've been trying to get sorted for Fathers day amidst holiday packing! Making my dad fresh berry scones in the morning with Ethan from us both- he and my mum r babysitting Ethan whilst we r at the wedding so he will have them as a surprise with some clotted cream!! Also got my dad a book and OH has a book and some limited edition m and M's coz he loves them! Since we will spend most of father's day travelling in the car I've promised I will also make him a banoffee pie when we r on hols!! Xx

The cord blood they take hun is to check babies blood type. You only have the jab after birth if he is a positive baby xxx

Ah ok. Midwife said yesterday I will have one regardless and he will be checked. I assumed that meant blood type and if needed he would get injection.
So long as we both get looked after I don't mind. Rather have the jab than the alternative. X
