*****August 2014 Mummies*****

Hey girls,
Seems v quiet in here- hope everyone's ok?

Lanny hope you and bubs are ok, nice to hear from you though. Keep us posted
Allyackles hope your keeping ok?
Keeptrying, def with you on the difficulties walking, I'm finding my feet swell loads too
Happy sorry your still sore hun, sounds painful for you and I'm questioning if mw is right in saying I have it as def don't have the pain.. Will find out at physio on wed but thinking of you
Mum2b glad you had a good holiday.. Sounds lush but bet your loving home comforts again :)

Had a bit of a scare here today, last few days have been rougher than usual, went to pick up OH's daughter early and got sharp stabbing pains at the bottom of bump. Continued on and off all day, horrible feeling, went for a nap but couldn't sleep with pain. Rang the out of hours mat dept who gave me a few exercises to do as they thought baby was on a nerve, took painkillers, had a bath and thankfully it's subsiding somewhat, though if I still have pains in morning or if they get worse I've to go up. Not ideal timing with an excited 8 year old who wants to see/hear and generally be involved with anything baby related, very touchy feely with bump and I've really struggled to stay patient with her :(

Work meeting the other day went well thanks to all who have asked. But of a waiting game now to see whether it will be workload or expectation which they address, but something has to give and they know that.

Time for tea and toast. Rock and roll Saturday :) x

Morning all. Hope bump pains have subsided weezy, doesn't sound nice. Glad to hear work are going to address your concerns.

Nothing much to report here. Got let down by plumber and radiator now leaking, so bit stressed trying to find one that could come fix it before bedroom carpet is fitted tues. Had a nice (but cold) BBQ at a friends. All speculating what I was going to have, most said boy.

Started taking raspberry leaf capsules, building self up to start doing some perineum massage, is anyone else doing it?

Morning!

Allyackles- lovely to hear from u! Hope u are doing alright?

Lanny- really hope all goes well next week! Keep us updated if u can? Will b thinking of u!

Weezy- scary re pains! Hope its all settled now. Your job can't b helping things so really hope something is done!

Kaffee- I started perineum massage this week! Did it last time too- couldn't tell u if it worked though coz they had to do episiotomy with forceps to get Ethan out quick! Talked yo midwife who said no harm in doing it this time and it may well help! So I figure it's worth a try even if it is bloody awkward to do! I tried raspberry leaf last time from about 37 weeks but it just made me have awful braxton hicks and was told to stop! Not sure if I will try it again this time or not!

Hubby back to work tomorrow.......going to try my best to keep Ethan happy this week and not lose patience! Hard when he doesn't understand y mummy can't manage certain things anymore :-/ Have a lovely Sunday all xxx

Yup not the easiest thing to do is it mum2b. Most sites suggest doing it after a bath. I tried having a bath but ours is so small I sat in there for 5 mins before giving up (hence next job is getting a new bathroom sorted) Suppose I could always soak my bits in a washing up bowl before attempting massage, though I suspect I might get wedged in it the size my arse has grown!

Will see how I get on with raspberry leaf capsules. Useful to know what they might do though.

I use the mother care perineal massage oil and stand with one leg up on the side of the bath! Lol! Can only manage a few minutes!! Haha x

Mum2b These are a few that I brought today can't believe how tiny they are!

Girls with this oil that ur using what does it do? And when can u use it from? Xxx

Quick question re baby milk.. I'm hoping to bf but getting hospital bag ready after yesterday's scare and would like to take in some as a "just in case" even those ready made sachet things.
Doing an online shop, what brand/kind would you suggest??

Silly question anyway hun OH has just reminded me about use buy dates.. That's a last min thing to get I think.. Doh.
I'm ok I think, still a little sore and been up since 5am, off out shortly to get bday present for OH's daughters 8th birthday.. Only wants the most expensive bmx bike on the earth (of course!!) Bubs v active though which I'm happy about :)
How r you ? What you upto today?? Xxx

I wouldn't have even thought of used buy dates either! Must be hard having a step daughter at that age they all want to be involved with everything! How often do u have her? I'm good thanks went shopping in Brighton yesterday nearly killed me so tiered today but got a few nice things for bubs I posted them above. Must be lovely feeling bubs all the time my anterior placenta still gets in the way shielding her kicks :( xxx

She's here every second fri sat sun. She's actually really good and all she wants to do is be involved and help but sometimes I just need to be left in peace. She just loves feeling him kicking, she'll be a great big sister.. I'm just lacking in patience with her at the moment.. Feel guilty today about it but she's fine.
They're really lovely, we have a gap outlet near us which has made my bank card take an absolute battering. Is the sun out in Brighton?? Weather here is lovely but I can't be arsed to go out and enjoy it! Hopefully you'll start getting big kicks soon hun xxx

I was a stepchild and my step mum got pregnant when I was 10 I loved it couldn't get enough! But I know I was prob overwhelming at times for her! It's really hot just having a chilled day today watching friends! Hope u have a good day make sure u rest and relax! Xxx

Thanks hun I will do.
Enjoy your relaxing day.. Well deserved after yesterday ;) xxx

Hi girls!

Keeptrying- they are just adorable!! I love little girl baby clothes! Always seem to be a better selection than for boys :-/
The oil is just something that is meant to help the perineum be able to stretch better in giving birth and potentially reduce the chances of tearing. The mothercare one says to use twice a day from 6 weeks prior to birth so u can start from 34 weeks! I think there are other oils u can try but I just stuck with what I used last time!

Weezy- I think the use by on the ready made milk cartons is usually a good 4-6months so you could buy some now! I had 4 aptimil cartons at home ready for if I needed them when Ethan was born. When we did go onto combi feeding we used them first and then switched to SMA as it was cheaper! I think there is debate about which is closest to breastmilk/ best to buy etc but I think they are all much of a muchness and it usually depends on what bubs likes the taste of! I picked aptimil initially coz I was told it was what the hospital used! Like I say I'm pretty sure use-by dates are quite long so u could get some now- hope that helps :-)

Hi everyone,
Hope everyones having a nice weekend!
So, I'm 33 weeks today. Yay! My 32 week update is up on my blog if anyone fancies a read - http://www.thebrunettesays.co.uk
So my stomach was just SO painful yesterday, I rested most of the day, whenever I got up to do something I was practically in tears, coughing and sneezing left me in agony. But I picked up a support belt from Babies R Us last night and today, without getting ahead of myself, I def feel a little better. It's holding my bump well and altho I do keep having pains if I do something for a long time, it's feeling a lot better so far. I've been able to do a little housework and feel a lot more comfortable, so fingers crossed the belt helps me!!

mum2b - My house is an absolute tip and I've been so stressed not being able to do anything about it. OH used to help out so much, and I don't kno if its just me, but he just seems a lot more lazy now Im pregnant!! :eh:

OfficiallyMrsM - Thanks hun, fingers crossed! So far so good!

keeptrying - Hope you enjoyed your shopping trip!! :)

allyackles - Nice to hear from you hun, hope you're doing well!! :)

weezy - Oh you don't have any pain?? Ah thats lucky!! Let me kno how you get on at physio - you'll have to let me know of any exercises you're given!! How does bump feel today hun??

Kaffee - I've also started with massage gel this week. I was sent one to review for my blog, to be used from 32 weeks. I'm a bit weirded out by where and how you apply it tho? Ladies??

I'm not sure where you apply the oil (I've got some from boots) but I know you've gotta stick your thumbs inside and make a u-ish shape with them, so maybe it's on your thumbs? Mum2be?? Might try it later this eve, will try one leg on bath technique
